Touhou is basically Galaxian with an insane fanbase consisting entirely of middle aged Russian men who cannot pronounce baka and overcompensate for the horrible accident with the CIA, a Hamburg bus, and a room full of hookahs by drawing fan art for video games they've never played while having their heads bitten off by a tiger.

Galaxian? I love that game. So is Touhou basically that but with cute anime girls?

Well, happy Cirno day. I'm officially an idiot.

And yes @Roger the Horse every season lineup (as of late at least) has been crap.

Also if anyone is looking for something dark to watch, why not watch Myself, Yourself? It looks like School Days in the beginning, but
Everybody's life is actually really screwed up in one way or another. Not like School Days though. They came out at around the same time I believe.

Guardians of the Galaxy gets 2 anime episodes. I've seen just about everything now.

P.S. Go and read Haruki Murakami's Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage. It's not related to anime. But if you visualize everything like it was in the Monogatari series it will start to make sense.

EDIT: Just finished episode 1 of FLCL. If only I could find a place to download the rest...

Cirno is too stronk for you.

Wikipedia
Several fanmade anime had been made for Touhou. An unofficial dōjin anime project by the dōjin circle Maikaze, titled A Summer Day's Dream, is a fan-made anime adaptation with an original plot featuring Touhou characters, with two episodes released in 2008 and 2012. Albeit created by an amateur studio, the animation project notably featured high-ranking professional voice actors. Another dōjin anime by the circle Manpuku Jinja, titled Fantasy Kaleidoscope ~ The Memories of Phantasm, was released at Comiket 80 in 2011, with one episode released based on the storyline of Perfect Cherry Blossom. A short derivative animated project, Anime Tenchou x Touhou Project was produced by Ufotable in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Japanese goods chain, Animate, as a promotional video for the store combining the world of Touhou with Animate's mascot, Meito Anizawa.

I need to see more of this.

Touhou seems like it would be the second-best Hat Simulator at least. It would need more topless, honey-smothered Soldiers fighting bears to ascend higher, though.

I took Cirno Day off. I despise Cirno's image so much.
It's just as well I can enjoy Touhou for the next 364 days now.

Also, Touhou isn't an anime but with the masses of doujinshi and fanworks for it, it fits the agenda.

Your descriptions of it are some way wide of the mark. But yes, it's actually a shmup game.

My job is done. I was planning to do this for a few weeks now.

BTW, you've posted the Fantasy Kaleidoscope movies here before, right?

Did you get all of them?!

No kidding, those IS figurines look amazing. 10/10 would buy twice.
I have pre-ordered all of them except Houki and Cecilia. As Cecilia didn't hit the site I typically order GSC figures (Animate Japan's US branch, Animate USA), I have to get her elsewhere where she'd be WAY more expensive including shipping (1/4 scales are huge and demand high shipping prices of like 3000-4000 yen when it's just themselves being imported). Will pre-order Houki in a heartbeat soon. Oh how I absolutely need a huge 1/4 scale figure of my waifu.

RIP wallet

Finally closed the book on Eureka Seven*. I do like to pace myself, but 50 episodes in 50 days was a total coincidence that I only discovered a hour ago.

It took me a while to acclimatise to this series. There wasn't much going on prior to the first Kute-Class appearance that compelled me to keep watching, apart from some choice battle scenes and a killer soundtrack. Between then and the third arc with Ray and Charles, it started to get more in-depth and my eagerness to continue watching reflected that. Though Eureka's depression seemed to drag on a bit. Episode 20 onwards sets the tone for much of the rest of the series, as well as proving how much darker the series is than I expected.

I can't fault the character development. At times it's hard to remind myself how far Eureka has come since leaving SOF, and how Renton manned the hell up once they came to terms with their feelings for each other. Though Holland going from bitter kid beater to supreme badass made for the sweetest change. If only we got to see how him and Talho were doing a year later. Same for the rest of Gekkostate.

Sakura is the only OP that I made sure never to skip. It really sets the scene for the final arc, which also seemed to benefit from some truly wonderful animation (something as simple as Oratorio Number 8 moving into position was a treat). The sense of scale can be quite breathtaking at times. A few loose ends, but I'll take a happy ending over anything else.

*All that's left now is to avoid AO

I see Remilia in a new light after seeing @C-ZETA 's picture.
Who's the artist? Is it the same artist who made that really nice Sanae picture some time back in this thread?

Also, Haruhi Suzumiya is overrated. I dun get it.

because Kyon often objects everything Haruhi says but he listens to everything Haruhi tells him to do.

So uh, anyone here has a dakimakura? I just got one and... deeper down the rabbit hole I go. :scared:

@nk4e that Pacific Rim poster was done by a Metal Gear artist.
