Friendship =/= life all the time.

Or a more understandable way to put it, there's more to life than just friendship.

Sticker my friend bought. Hopefully the one I ordered came in today.

I don't know what it's referencing to but I need it.

Madoka 3's getting dubb'd, and it's sounding good:

So I actually marathoned all three movies in Japanese with the Anime Society at my university recently, and it was good fun. Surprisingly divisive, and not just the third movie; it's not the best show to watch with tons of other people around, I feel, but there were a number of people who just plain didn't like it. Which is fine, I guess.

But the English dub is going to be excellent, I'm sure of it. Worth the insane expense of having the Blu-ray imported from the US? Eeeeeeehhhhhhh maybe. :X

Also, I finally got a MyAnimeList: http://myanimelist.net/animelist/eXtaticus

It only contains stuff that I've completed (nothing that I'm currently watching or dropped), but feel free to shred me anyway. :'D

Accomplishing long-term goals? Becoming somebody? Making a difference in the world that affects more than just people you know?

Completing all that seems pretty rewarding to me, and none of those seem like friendship is a prerequisite.

I'm not here to argue about definition if you're trying to catch me for that. I only disagree with the statement, because I feel there's tons more rewarding goals you can be doing before declaring you won at life. Don't you feel the same way?

I actually betted drinks with a friend from the Anime Society about the first thing on my MAL to be picked on, and:

Tragically, I now owe him a beer. I honestly thought that one of the moe$hit shows would get flak first. :X

Regardless of what you think of the show overall, I maintain that season two was better. Two of the three best characters in either season are exclusive to season two, it didn't have the pacing problems that part of the first season did, Kirito was a little less overpowered - and above everything else, the last three episodes made me cry more than any other anime (or piece of media) ever has. Madoka included, and Madoka really brings the feels.

It's worth noting here that my score deviation is actually negative, so on the shows I've seen, I actually rate harsher on average than most people. It's not like I'm not discerning. ;P

Yeah, I pretty much agree with that. Though one's "requirements" of winning at life is something that is dependent on the person. The things you listed are no-doubt virtues everyone should strive for in their lives, including me of course, but one person interpreting their way of going through life will be slightly different than another, but that's mostly what a person is passionate about. Nevertheless I don't want to stretch this out more than it should so I'll just leave it at that.

Kill La Kill :D I liked the show very much

Akame Ga Kill , how's that show?
I still haven't seen the last five episodes, but it's decent at best. And it towards the end strayed away from the manga and had an anime original ending. I guess they were doubting it was ever going to get to do a S2 ever so they decided to try to conclude something.

Way too much comedy and recycled light-hearted banter. Not enough dark fantasy. The blunt dialogue also becomes grating after a short while.

They did succeed in giving a fair bit of depth to an otherwise cliche cast and the first half of the series was surprisingly addictive for what it is. Shoehorning as many enemies as possible in on top of the primary antagonists as the series progressed was completely unnecessary though. The tragedy is more miss than hit since you can usually see what's coming a mile off. The ending was vacuous and I'd forgotten what went down until I read back on it. Possibly due to their haste to conclude it after one season.

Go in expecting an unoriginal shounen instead of an 18+ fare and you'll probably enjoy it. Although you're better off going with what @AOS- recommended.

I hear Akame Ga Kill is okay at best. I also hear the manga is a lot better in terms of presentation at least.
Tokyo Ghoul suffers from the same issue.

I think I need an Always Sugoi sticker. You know, for when my first car will actually come :D Will put it in storage for the mean time.

@AOS- @Wiegert @Technicolors I've seen Mirai Nikki, was fun to watch but it fell apart towards the end with plot holes and the ending where I was like :odd:.... Even with the OVA which although was a bit lighter.

@TheCorvette , guess I'll use it as a time passer after varsity work.

Any other ones worth watching? The Garden of Words I'm told is nicely written.

Good Question:

Is it better to watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya in the broadcast order or chronological order?

I saw some of it sometime back (Years ago...) but it never made sense to me, maybe because I was young and dumb :p

Some fantasists like the idea of recreating the TV experience where you watch it in broadcast order like you would sit in front of the TV anxiously waiting for your favourite show to start up each week.

Watching in chronological order is easier to understand, but that seems forcefully linear, plus you may lose out on the impact of any flashbacks that play out.
