Is there any anime that is not based around teenagers but around college students or young adults? I'd like to see an anime that isn't too childish but not too serious at the same time.
You're looking for Slice of Life shows.....
^ I'm into that genre a lot SBK! Clannad & Lucky Star are excellent choices, but I can give you some suggestions too:That's the kind of stuff I like, thanks for finding the words for me.![]()
^ I'll try that out next time!"Welcome to the NHK" is another good one, focuses on college age young adults, and very funny.
^ Um, Clannad is slice of life IMO. It almost deals with each characters obstacles in life as an individual. Sure there are a lot of gaps throughout in between the series, but it really does not affect the entire series as a whole.Clannad isn't really slice of life. but the first season has a ton of those moments, humourous too.
^ I miss Elsie and her Firetruck escapades! No one else is looking forward to World God only Knows? The show's funny.
Gintama is definitely coming back in april for season 4.
hooray! how do you know for sure???
Fixed.Rurouni Kenshin is a very long series (95 episodes) with plenty of adult characters and some kids, also balance between funny and serious but more funny, set in Meiji Japan (1880's?) about a Samurai who was the bloodiest killer of them all during the revolution but who now carries a reversed-blade sword and uses it to defend the weak.
Fixed.Plus the fact I enjoyed watching it.

I didn't think it was that bad. And not everyone watches all their anime in Japanese.
Yup. I almost always watch anime in English, unless the dub is exceptionally bad or there is no dub available.
Subtitles are sometimes more accurate, sure, but I find that dubs usually connect on a more emotional level for me. Some of the English voice acting might be a little poor, but I'm sure some of the Japanese voice acting is too. The only difference is that with Japanese, I'm less able to tell between good or bad voice acting.
On a somewhat related note, my copy of Evangelion 2.22 arrives tomorrow. I've already seen it subbed a couple of times, but I can't wait to watch it dubbed. I like watching Evangelion dubbed in particular, because I find hearing all that techno-babble much sexier than reading it.
^ Dead!? Thats harsh, after I contributed few pics couple of pages ago...Is the club dead?
^ Better than if it was pronounced in Tagalog like:Kah-Toe-Me, Na-Geese-Ah, Ta-Moie-Ya
the way they pronounce names was a big turn off after knowing how its properly pronounced
^ I've watched both versions. I must say, Ocean Studios did a great job compared most of 90% of mainstream USDM Animes the were ever released, but that my opinion.Case in point: Inuyasha...although, I have to say, after watching other anime, the English dub of Inuyasha isn't that great either, but it's a heck of a lot better than the Japanese. I know, I've tried to watch it in the Japanese and couldn't stand it.
