Its like the exact opposite of Madoka where all the characters looks like colored pencil (not a bad thing).

@Rage Racer , that 1st Nisekoi opening doe.... Now that is quite addictive

Have you seen the movie yet? That's the best cure, followed by rewatching Bebop.

I'm gonna try to get my hands on it over the weekend. I think I'll rewatch it over the June holidays, preferably with a few individuals I'm trying to introduce to anime  Why are introductions so hard?..... Mate......

Can't. Stop. Listening. To. The. Soundtrack.....

I need to see what this Bakemonogatari fuss is about:sick: I saw the toothbrush scene courtesy of Gigguk's review and I was like....

Answer to an old post of yours, @TayeezSA

I think you like Shu because he resembles Issei:lol:

Well, Nisekoi's Shuu does share his VA with DxD's Issei, and they also have similar personalities. But the thing I love the most about Shuu is the faces he does. I can't help but crack a smile whenever he does that cat grin.

So I have a new avatar now (about to fix transparency in G.I.M.P)

EDIT: Fanarts 'cuz I'm bored. (thumbnails as usual; click to see full size)

Holy crap those light reflections.

How did they manage to make a drawing look so plastic? Or was this done by a someone on a computer? Either way, was it intentional?

Illustration style. Drawing in black and white only may not mean the actual subject is composed of only two shades. ;)

That may be the most pointless thing to be animated ever

I think it was to show the stapler wasn't empty. Have you ever done that to test if a stapler is functioning?

In real life sure. Why would that need to be animated though exactly? I've never seen an anime where a stapler check was a plot point

Emphasis and attention to detail on some next level art form (personally). It's like showing a bullet shell hitting the ground in slow-mo after someone gets shot.

I rather watch a closed staple hit the ground in that tense moment than watch a mid-episode slideshow of A-Channel.

And yes, @Not_A_Guest, it's Penguindrum. The name is unmistakably unique.

More fanart because I have absolutely nothing better to do!

(you know, its a shame Tsumugu wasn't more important overall; he was pretty cool imo)

Having context with it would help; what was going on exactly in that scene before/after stapler?

A bit of a language warning here at the end.

So much truth in this. The ending isn't everything, see the show as a whole. I still don't get how people here thought I felt certain shows were bad just because I wasn't too fond of the ending, and felt the ending wasn't good.

@nick98 I see where you're coming from with Shu

Has anybody here ordered any Apparel off Crunchyroll.com? I'm considering getting some shirts, maybe a headband even.... Just thinking about the quality of the screen prints and shirts. If it's up to Importbible spec then I'd gladly order

I can see this, even though I haven't watched near as much. The A/Z and Code Geass pics I'm guessing are evidence of his point, and that too I can see pretty well.

While endings don't total to the entire thing, they still mean a lot. It's the after taste of food. It's the finale you waited so long for. It's the last thing you ever see in the story. I agree it's a bit of a stretch to knock an entire show for one bad episode, but at the same time, I don't feel a bad ending should be overlooked due to an overall good show. A bad ending shows the writers screwed up in the end. A rushed ending can signify a writer not being skilled at wrapping things up.

First impressions are important, but to me, that's more so from a marketing point of view. A strong lead may not even arrive at a good end. I was captivated by the idea Samurai Girls proposed in the prologue, but we find out the series is nothing like that.

I can't tell you how many times I've described a show by saying "the ending sucked, but the rest was excellent". It can leave a sour note at times.

I still enjoyed A/Z as a whole, even though the writing kinda sucked.

The effect of an ending depends on the series. Cowboy Bebop gets away with having a relatively* unremarkable last couple of episodes because Bebop was never about the overall narrative.

On the other hand the Madoka Magica Rebellion movie misses an open goal by having an ending which, while intellectually interesting in post mortem, leaves most viewers feeling disappointed due to the lack of a clear resolution (this probably isn't helped by how effective the original series' ending was).

Ultimately there are a lot of factors involved. Episodic shows like Bebop don't tend be remembered for their beginning middle or end. Longer stories have to be more about the journey than the ending in order to work. Buffy the Vampire Slayer would still be my favourite TV show even if the ending was terrible (as it happened the last couple of episodes were actually decent), because I didn't watch through seven series for an ending. I watched them for the characters and writing.

Shorter non-episodic series have a harder time justifying a poor ending simply because the ending makes up more of the content. A poor ending will leave an aftertaste to the entire thing, while in a longer story this may be overshadowed by many other superior moments.

Case in point, I prefer Madoka Magica to FLCL simply because Madoka's ending is perfect while FLCL's marks perhaps the weakest point of the series**, in spite of the fact that in every other regard FLCL is probably better; I finished watching Madoka thinking "Wow, that was the best thing I've ever seen", while I finished watching FLCL thinking "err... the ending didn't quite follow on from the rest of it as one might have liked."

*This is Bebop we're talking about, the last two episodes are still excellent.

**Again, by no means an insult.

I'm suffering Bebop withdrawal right now

I had the same thing when I watched Chuunibyou the first time. It was the first proper anime I had watched and I really didn't want to let it go just yet.

Local car to me. I dig it.

Yeah, I'd tapcruise alongside that. ;) I imagine the owner might be doing some proper racing with this car as well?

Speaking of SAO, my car color combination in some of the GT6 leagues in recent weeks have been inspired by Leafa. I've been going with green on the body with white or silver wheels or trim.
