Not really. I just hate him because he probably knows he can take a dump on a piece of paper, call it a script, and still sell it.
That's what happened with some of the shows he helped write, though.

Maybe because they were just trashy shows, and needed only a functional script to get by? There are projects that you do for the sake of your art, and projects that you do for the money. If someone hires you to write a script because your unique talents are the only way the show could possibly be successful, then you have the freedom to put your all into it - but if someone hires you to write a script simply because there needs to be words on the page when the actors go to read lines, then you're less likely to really shine.

Madoka Magica, Psycho-Pass and Fate/Zero were great. And in fact, a lot of the supposedly "bad" shows that Urobuchi's been involved in weren't bad specifically because of the script; other issues dragged them down. In fact, a lot of what I've heard people complain about in Expelled From Paradise, for example, is the sexy-ness of it - but unless he wrote [she flies nude through a tunnel], [nakedly] and [btw she's not wearing anything] as directions in the screenplay, I doubt that was his fault.

Gargantia and that recent shota/loli stupid crap (can't be bothered to remember the name) were absolute dog piss.
Also that Expelled from Paradise thing was mediocre at best.
The problem is that when Urobuchi's name gets on something, it automatically makes mad cash money, so even if a work is completely made of cat vomit it'll still look good to investors and fans.

The vocabulary here really pushes the boundaries of what you can say on this board without triggering the profanity filter, though I'd argue that even if you don't like Urobuchi, the level of salt is way too much. :X

Is that not an assumption you're making up?
I would find it rather ridiculous if somebody didn't know that they were perhaps the most well known script writer in the industry. It would also be ridiculous that someone would ignore the implications of that status. But I guess that's alright, all entertainment industries work the same way.
if someone hires a writer to write a script simply because there needs to be words on the page when the actors go to read lines, then they won't hire someone as high-profile as Urobuchi.
FTFY
I don't think anybody would be interested in Urobuchi's services if they didn't want to make the best show that they could.

this is what happens when you play on steam for 5 years
especially CSGO

In all seriousness, I just hate it when people glorify Urobuchi. He has his ups and he has his downs, and that's precisely why his name pasted on a show is no reason to waste your time with it.

Any one noticed that volume 13 for nge is vastly different than the movie?
Yep-- the manga, show, and the three (?) different movie storylines ALL have different nuances in the events that pass after
Shinji has to kill his friend whose name I don't remember.

That house on fire pic is sufficient without text. It's a whole different story with that text actually.

Damnit, translators. Let's get a move on for Meikyuu. It's a shorter game too. What's taking ya?

I was at a book store and found the Rin Figma. I was tempted to get it...very tempted but knowing that i should save my money for something important.

no

can't get married to trash and piles of feces, amigos

Been too busy with a midterm coming up at the end of the week to post here often. Also had two large assignments in school due yesterday, so...

QQ I've only been able to read 4komas basically.

-> ...
Has anyone started the Prison school anime?
^ Now that you mention it, no I haven't. My first impression of it is a scaled down Bible Black Diaries, the art work is somewhat similar!

Why are you so perfect....
^ Hitagi, that superiority complex 🤬 is ways off to be perfect. :imdiff:

If you ever met a female otaku, would you specifically want something from them to understand? Would it hinder you to enjoy something because you both have something in common?#singlelyfe #animerelationships

My girlfriend is a bit of an otaku. I think she understands my love of moe anime girls. I mean she buys me figures for Christmas/birthdays. We have different taste in shows, but anime is something we can enjoy together.

I wish I had any idea of how to use Photoshop, I'd create "Punished Asuka".
