well, started on the z gundam saga. pretty good so far.. a very mature series. adultury, secret plots, political intrigue, and one big white gundam. where do they come up with this stuff? jk.
 
lol, all that stuff was in the original gundam, at least in the books anyway, i'm still reading blame manga, need to wait 3 days for my stupid bandwidth o reset so i can keep reading :(

the gundam stories have been generaly the same for the the past 23 years, its wierd that i never get sick of it :) again it starts off like the original gundam, almost exactly!! :eek: it was pretty wierd.

at home :p (i have 1&2 / 3 books (the originals)) here, and have read them both, if i rem correctly he has sex with 2 different girls and kills them somehow by the end (sorry about the spoilers)

Ah the timeless classic. War.
Im also a fan of the good old earth cleansing theme you see in stories like (whats it called damnit :banghead: ) (something about "robot fighter _____) . The theme is also seen a a couple of plain old adult swim titles.

btw, I really love the game "federation vs zeon" for the ps2. damn it's so cool.... the original voice actor cast, the perfect pop-up box art and some simple, yet exciting game play. All of the gundams from the original series & forward right up to, but not including 0083. Rating: 👍 👍
 
yeah, FvsZ rocks! theres a couple more out there just like it (zeta universe, lost war chronicles)

in ZG the mkII gundam (blue) is quite the thing, not to metion the HiZacks, soooo kewl!

Very intriguing stories with quality to match. Then again, what else would you expect from something Katsuhiro Ôtomo has had a hand on?
I for one love these kinds of 'no-strings-attached-just-telling-a-story' animes. :D The true potential of creators truly shines in films like these.



Note: Katsushiro Ôtomo is of course the creator of 'Akira' for those with horrible memory, such as me. :p

aah, memories. three stories that I love to watch, over and over again. excelent soundtrack by yoko kanno, too. aside from the otomo-directed cut, the other three ones are really bright, as well, specially the third one, when the dude sweats :D
awesome movie, very recommended!!

an old friend said the same thing to me too. :sick: he said the face of the deer gave him nightmares, perticualy how it always looked at him and smiled, (in a creepy way)

is there any anime scene that totaky grossed you out/scared to death/made you shrieked like a girl?

GTO- the vacation episode where there was a momentary parody of "the ring" in was quite a damn suprise! everyone watching just went into violent convulsions of shock. never watch anime alone.
 
Well I couldn't really say the grossest scence I have witnessed, but I can remember a classic that was one of my first movies, and in it...

Akira...

Everyone has gotta remember how nasty tetsuo got at the end of the movie. Or even better, when he started to whig out on the street, fell to his knees, then his guts fell out. (in a hallucination)

That was a pretty nasty one.
But there are others I have seen that put akira to shame in the gross out factor.
 
The whole Ninja Scroll series. Yeeesh, I had to stop after 5 episodes. Gross and too damn depressing for my taste. :yuck:
 
There were a couple of stabs and slices in Ruroni Kenshin (uncensored) that could look pretty nasty, I remember one where a guy slices right through the middle of another guy's head with a sword.

Also, the way the Eva-02 looked after the Series 5 Evas tore it all apart in EoE wasn't very pretty to look at either, particularly when it reactivates and you get a nice close-up of the face.
