Has anyone seen One Piece?

I just started to get into hardcore anime, and let me tell you. This one kicks arse. I saw the first 20 episodes in one night, and now I'm hooked. And I thought I loved Naruto and Cowboy Bebop. Ha! This is an almost fetish.

Has anyone seen One Piece?
one piece has a certain quality like no other! a charm not seen since the soyokazeg, and sagalistic like dragonball, but maybe way to drawn out?:irked: it sure is in anime marathon proportions now

and gotta love that new "folder five" theme song :D go euro!

I've only seen art from one piece and read conversations about the title on an old board I used to frequent.

So kriskris,
Would you be willing to give us a single post synopsis of the story/series?

That would be great because the way you just described one piece made me wanna watch it.
Thanks. :D

Well GoKents, I could help you out. I will be receiving my dvd collection of One Piece this week, and am pretty stoked about it.

Basically, the main characters of the storyline are the Pirates. And the crew that you typically follow is that of which Monkey D. Luffy leads. (See avatar for picture)
The majority of the people in this story have some special skill or power, so there are some really interesting battles. Luffy, who as a young child ate the "Devil's fruit" has the ability to stretch extremely long distances, why he is called "the rubberman".
Luffy wants to become the Pirate King, and to do so, he is required to get to the Grandline, a location which holds the most coveted Pirate prize, the "One Piece", as to which this Anime is named after.

Luffy picks up different people as he makes his journey along, all of which have special skills and/or talents that Luffy desires.
What makes this Anime more interesting, in my mind, than others, is Luffy's free-will and overall happy spirit. He is not afraid to tell the truth, even in life or death situations, which has caused some funny incidents, nor is he afraid to tell people that they suck and/or kick them square in the nuts. These humours outbursts happen often and attract me to keep watching.

I would say, with the humour and action, this is a very attracting anime. Definitely give it a try, you'll get addicted. I watch it more often than Naruto.

I can rem who said it, about the kanon mag, thnx, i'll have to look into it some time, has everyone been using the thread on a regular basis? because i only just started getting otices in my inbox last night after like a week or two of nothing.

I don't know, I haven't been paying a whole lot of attention to my email lately, so I can't be of any help to you.

Belated One Piece! thoughts

The big seller of one piece was not the mass production grade art ( :yuck: ) or the massive amounts of merchandise ( :yuck: X2). It was the character quality. Some anime stories are slingshoted animal tirds on the wall. I rekon this one stands alone in originality and entertainment. It may be cheap at times but god damn fun to watch. the whole significance of the straw hat, or zoro with the 3 blades technique. dont even start with me on the girl, shes the true Blue Falcon if there ever was one.

luffy conatins the same complacency as captain tylor O_O, nuff said. there should be captain tylor's in every story :D

damn right with that note, i find him an unusual role model right?!

theres a good reason this Kids Anime is not in america yet. again its the characters, their bad ppl's! the double cross eachother, steal, kill, and plunder with really enourmous grins.... the entire time. hell, that utah senator might ban all anime if he ever saw this.
there is no way this is the best anime ever, or worthy of an emmy award, very far from it. but its different.
