I got a good list of DVDs to buy when they are released. So far theres

A Certain Scientific Railgun
A Certain Magical Index
Steins;Gate
Nichijou
Madoka Magica
Squid Girl
OreImo

I'd buy em too to support them, but quite frankly.... I much rather use that money to buy more fragile plastic sculptures instead...har har har any video discs that are left sitting for a long time will be thrown by dad in this household

Yikes.

I want more nendos. I need to limit myself to like 1 a month or something :dunce:

Reverse image lookup FTW

Too bad FUNimation takes over a year to release. But IMO they do one of the best dubs out there (Evangelion, Fullmetal Alchemist).

Hey gurl!

I don't know if I could ever like a S;G dub. I love the sub soo much.

I don't think it should be too bad. The only person can imagine having a terrible voice over is Mayuri, Ruka and Moeka...

Okabe would sound kinda like Tomoya (his eng dubber), Kurisu would sound a little more bitchier (imo), and Feyris would sound less Nya Nya~, and Suzuha would probably sound pretty amazing....

This is why I didn't get a Nendo :sly: Looks like I took the smarter route... I mean, yeah there are a few more figurines I want (liek 2 or 3), but I don't even have enough money for any one yet. Physical limitation ftw :trouble:

Crying Slyguy
C'mon, post up another girl so I can identify her

It's not Taiga Aisaka, it's not Aisaka Taiga either.. and it's not the Joker, because the joker isn't a girl... who is that?

Well Nendos are the cheaper route. I would like some figurines but they're twice as much as a Nendo.

Not to mention I still want stuff for my car. And I want a lot of stuff, it's just how I am. When I actually get the money I usually don't get it unless I really want it.

That's because it's both, derp.

I spend 13 hours on an essay and realize that it wasn't due until Wednesday :indiff:.

I'm gonna agree here. Even if I only saw 1.5 episodes of S;G so far. It's that good to me.

Anyways, OADR:

What are you doing in a red plugsuit?

Well Nendos are the cheaper route. I would like some figurines but they're twice as much as a Nendo.

How many nendos have you wished for? Though each one cost less, you have to take into consideration how likely you would want to buy another nendo if you had a nendo collection, versus wanting another scale figure if you had a scale figure collection, all under the moderation of money spent. I still feel that the Nendo route is the more expensive route, because the desirable factor of getting another nendo is much much higher than getting another scale fig because of it's "collectable" appeal and its lowere cost.

However, this is under the assumption that the collector will more than likely favour the less expensive product (not pointing fingers, we all would love to pay less anyday).

Let's assume that the general Nendo cost is half of the General Scale Figure (now referred to as Scalefig). This means I could buy one scalefig, or two nendos... Here's where I challenge people who use the "nendo is a cheaper option" argument. Go find as many nendos you like and wish to have (disregard price) sitting in your house...also take this into consideration. Ask yourself this while browsing: "If I had the money, would I buy this?" If you answered yes, then that product is added to the Nendo count. Now do the same with the Scalefig's... how do they add up?

Personally, I think I would have enough Nendos with a sum 2 or 3 times greater than the total sum of the scalefigs. Believe it? I'll conjure up a list of all the nendos I'd like to have versus all the scalefigs I'd like to have (again disregarding value unless they're significantly different than the assumed amount) should you not believe in me. :trouble:

However, this is under the assumption that the collector absolutely loves cute things and will more than likely favour the less expensive product (not pointing fingers, we all would love to pay less anyday).

The only other Nendo is the Touwa Erio one I pre-ordered. Next after that is probably gonna be the Ika Musume one.

It would still be the same if I went the figurine route. If a really nice figurine is made of one of my favorite characters I would still be inclined to get it. Then another. Then another.

And not only Nendo's, but I've been thinking about getting D-Arts Megaman X Figures or those Kotobukiya model kits. I loved playing those games (and still do) and even though the franchise is hella old, it's awesome to finally have some cool models.

Oh man, you're gonna ****ing LOVE the show.

Ep 1 had a 50/50 hook, my friend totally hates the show because he couldn't understand what in the world happened in the first episode, but he was living under his own dumb rule so he never get it a chance after that.. I was sold by episode 2 with the Phone Microwave and Gelbanas and a Perverted genius Girl. to make matters even better, my physics prof today asked what people are interested in in physics, anything specific... and she mentioned SERN and stuff when someone said they were interested in the concept of Time. Personally I'm interested in some Astronomy, Time (Time travelling), and Particle Acceleration. I had thought about what would happen if I took a fly and put it on a spinning contraption and if it was possible to smoosh the fly in itself if the ride spun fast enough.

I'm also interested in Astronomy. I programmed a safety system for a Laser Guide Star for an internship.

And it took me a while to get into Steins;Gate. It really didn't seem that serious until **** got real. It was almost like Gurren Lagann, I almost dropped that too.

I think I've posted that before. Regardless red plug suit is best plug suit.

Valid counterpoint. It sort of falls under the micro-transaction method a lot of games have adopted. Nendos are cheaper making you want more instead of quality figures. Granted I am biased but it still is valid.

Isn't it CERN IRL? :p

I was sold by the first episode, it was interesting and holy hell.... I just wanted to know what the **** was goin' on.

It justifies the amount of money I've spent on Hot wheels versus a single figure for instance. Each HW only costs just over a dollar, and that's the argument for buying one without thinking long and hard about it. Before I knew it, I have over $110 worth of HWs.... all purchased little by little once in a while... Same value as my Black Gold Saw.....

It's kind of like a perception of spending... Spending a lot on little (quantitive) things, or spending little on a lot of inexpensive things.....Hell if my stores would actually carry better HWs other than the ones I already have, I'd have probably spent over $200 without even noticing...

Yes, CERN is real. A lot of things in Steins;Gate is real or is based off something in existence:
like 2Chan being 4Chan..
SERN being CERN
John Titor... as himself
The Butterfly Effect
D-Mails and something that transferred D-mails (and "gel-like state" I think) being a reference to Back to the Future...
internet memes, like Xzhibit, saying "facepalm" and "fail"..
Kamehameha
and like 3 other things...

Well it's a hobby, right? In fact next time your mom gets on your case, tell her at least you're not spending it on drugs

My buddy's weed habit got so bad, at one point he was spending $300 a week on kush. But... he's a serious pothead, vaporizer and all.

This Madoka figure is nice, but I think the paint is too glossy

I know all that... the story is based off of John Titor's "predictions" and his "time travel story". Except given a brilliant twist and made interesting by adding
d-mails, Okabe's story and gel bananas. Even the IBM was involved.

Also, you know you're awesome when your name is Chestnut Rice and Kamehameha.

First-Generation Oriental immigrant parents are conservative. They have a sort of ego/stubbornness issue where "whatever they say goes and is the final decision". Once they're set on telling me what to do, they will always say it whenever the opportunity arises... but saving money isn't a bad argument as I do owe money for tuition loans. Even if I didn't owe anyone money, they would still use the same line for purchases unnecessary for living... it's like they don't know how to think differently for once. Whatever though, I've dealt with the same attitude for all my life.

Also, Chestnut Rice and Kamehameha aren't that special....

That Madoka figure looks incredibly fake. One eye is just a mirror of the other, making the highlight placed on the wron side making her look demented. And glossy skin is almost always fake... her skin tone is also too dark if I'm not mistaken.

The bike is awesome, would like to have the bike BRS rides... or whatever people keep drawing her with.
