Speaking of Macross... Anyone see Conan on Friday night? They had a skit about this disgruntled guy who bought Robotech on VHS in the 80's and how he got screwed over when they stopped producing them. Then he goes on about how confusing the new DVD releases of Macross and Robotech are. He protests that there should be one series so he can finally find out what happens at the end.

Am I the only one who is having problems with GTP being extremely slow to do absolutely anything since being updated? And on that note, has anything new happened in the Anime Thread since GTP has been updated?

Hey all!

Guess what...
It's saturday and you all know what that means. :D

Saturday anime.
Yu yu and inuyasha.

I imagine I will make another post or edit this one once the shows have aired.

Is anyone else planning on watching tonight?
Tonight may be the first night of fighting between yuske and his rival... not sure about that, but it should be a good episode if that's the case.

Anyway, back later once the shows have been aired... till then...
later. :D

YES!! Well GTP lagged a lot for me before, but much worse now!

This is absolutely ridiculous(sp?). It really is almost too much of a pain to even try to look at GTP and our anime thread right now. The speed is worse than dial-up right now and I'm on a broadband connection. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Gee..... I didn't know there was a lot of DA members here.. (I'm one too but I haven't updated in a while)
If anyone remembers I kinda bashed Initial D a long time ago... And was confused myself why I had done so since I did enjoy it.. I found the answer (gladly) by reading the manga version of it....... I love the racing scenes but I skip the other scenes that have nothing to do with racing.. Not that the storyline is bad or anything but I have no patience for stuff like that... I personally believe that a race itself is the best story rather than the other stuff... And Initial D at times has a few 'other' stuff that got me frustrated (the beach scene for example). Probably why I liked to watch the latter CyberFormula series because most episodes are on the race track(I think it is a racing version of Gundam... totally unrealistic cars and a ability that reminds me of Newtypes.. The very first of the series reminded me of Speed Racer)

BTW is there any other racing anime out there? I once thought Ex-Driver was one but found out that it was kinda different...
Has anyone see Bakuten? Or is it even out yet? (Geez that was a sudden unrelated question  )

wow, thats alot of things to type up, welcome to the anime thread were ae like to get off topic, j/k

Um..... Well It's a Scifi Western...... Uh... well there is www.baku-ten.com to find out about it but then it's Japanese..... Uh... something to do with a corrupted government in Tokyo in the future.. That makes Guns once again a ways for Justice? I really don't know much about it so I kinda wanted to ask about it but....... :scared: :ouch: :indiff:

if this is anime and someone see's subs out there tell me! I'm not much for sci f and what most of it has become (i'm particular to a very specific kind, like last exile or something).

GTP is a little better atm, but it wont last.

As for Initial D, glad you watch some of it, a shame you skip the storyline, that show has some excellent characters and development to them, but at least you enjoy it ^_^

By the way, I found a weird anime called Dead Leaves.. You could watch the trailer on www.deadleaves.jp
After entering the site click the gray pink box on the bottom three categories...
I think it was definately inspired by Furikuri (One of my favs). Something that really seems a bit off from anime.... I was wondering if anybody finds it interesting...

Holy crap, ever thought of writing a book?

Whats DA exactly?

Well if I was smart enough to write a book I would be rich.. :) (Plus JohnBM01 writes way more than I would ever write)
DA = Deviantart.com ; Place where you upload art, photos etc...

All I say is Tokyo Pop need to get their ass straighten up, no more cut scenes, for example Real Bout High School has a part on the JDM manga version in which is not on the US version which sucks. And their name alteration, Initial D is the perfect example to that, unlike Viz, and ADV which keeps the character names untouched, TP alters is in wants to westernize Initial D, in which a lot of Anime fans furious. Tokyo Pop distributes a lot of good mangas but if they still continue what they're doing, they will REALLY lose their anime fanbase. :grumpy:
