I really want to see a "Not another Teen Movie" type anime, either that or hardcore auto racing anime ( not drifting, something that focuses on the street racing lifestyle outside of drifting).

Well, yes, but Lee vs Kimimaro was great too. (You can;t spoil it for me, I've read all the manga upto date). Not sure if you follow the manga, but have they introduced Sai yet into the anime?

That was a cool little strip posted. 👍
Also, I don't follow the Manga.
None the less, I have seen the fight between Kimmimaro and Lee (good stuff)... I'm not going to say any more on the subject. :sly: (spoilers!)

That said... There were even some fights I didn't expect to see. LIke the fat guy, I think his name was "choji" or something along those lines. Crunched down potato chips throughout the anime... By the end of the normal Naruto series he ended up being thin and fighting pretty well. 👍

That reminds me, does anyone here keep up with Naruto Shippuden?
Although some of the episodes so far have been filler there have been a few that were pretty darn cool. :trouble:

Ive been missing all my anime now that my sleeping pattern has changed (I get all of my anime from adult swim, lol). I have to try to stay awake tonight. It's 6:00PM and i have to stay up until 10:00AM but i woke up at 5:00AM.... this is going to be hard, lol.

Anywho, I don't really see how Inuyasha is a girls show but I won't argue. My sister is the one who actually started liking it so i guess that just proved your point, lol. I'm only on episode 30 something and ive missed all the episodes from the past week or two :grumpy:.

Eureka 7 did get really annoying at the end when Eureka and Renton wouldn't stop with the "I love you"s

With Ghost in the shell i've been gaining interest, but I usually don't sit down and watch it. I'll mostly just be listening to it while messing around on the computer, and then stop to watch it when theres some real action going on.

I had forgotten about initial D, that was one of the most awesome shows i've watched. I watched the fourth stage and the real movie and they were both a must must must see. I think i may have seen the third stage too, but i forget, that was all last summer, lol.

I've been following Naruto Kent:D. I only have to wait till next week for another episode:yuck: .

Btw, i saw Devil May Cry the first 2 episodes and i was sold. So much actions:eek:. I never saw so much blood in a couple of minutes for anime lol. I recommend you watch that:tup:

I Finally watched the Appleseed movie this morning. An excellent movie in all aspects, I particularly liked the beautiful visuals (HD-DVD and Blu-Ray reformats will undoubtedly look a work of art) and the captivating storyline consisting of the much deliberated future of man and machine. Another aspect I liked was that the movie was set in a much less 'isolated' environment to that of other films where everything seems to be dull and contained. Maybe not much to some, but I'm glad I've finally watched it and am keen to watch other 'post-war' anime films.

Also, what is this about Devil May Cry being finally adapted to film? Sounds very interesting.

After a short download, I just finished watching the first episode of the new Devil May Cry series from (link removed by moderation staff due to serious violation of AUP). I am yet to attain the second episode but from what I've watched it's definately got me hooked. Like the Manga and game, the storyline seems to run deep and their is some impressive scenes of all-out bloodshed to be had. The first episode also retains the random humour of Dante and his chaotic lifestyle. Nonetheless, I recommend anyone on this forum who likes some decent action to take a look at this series.

Told you that it was a good anime:D

@ Diablo'

If you're on episode 30 of Inuyasha, trust me, it gets worse. Go and watch some of the movies, you'll see what I'm talking about.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that got annoyed w/ Renton and Eureka and thier "Stop and say 'I love you' every five minutes, like they would forget" bombs. That was the only thing wrong with the show.

I started watching Tenchi Universe again and I wonder to myself, "why that Sakuya chick?" she was a boring charater.I would rather flip a coin over Ryoko and Ayeka (though I would have to find a way to rig the coin so that it would fall on Ryoko 9 times out of ten).

BTW anyone know where I can see eps of Gundam 08th MS team on the internet? If you know PM me.

I like Sakuya ^^ but for some reason she looks like Tenchi.

wow, you're the first person I ever heard say they like Sakuya. For some reason she annoyed me more than Mihoshi's ditsyness (wow that's the 10th word I've made up this week). Yeah she really does look like Tenchi.

Bah, if my friend wasn't taking a break from the anime community, I would hook you up TwinTurbos... though everything is a fansub that we deal with.

Inuyasha is pretty much a love story with some action in it. They quickly start re using frames and animations though, while changing the BG... not quite as bad as DBZ is about it.

Tenchi Universe... ecchi much, eh? Mihoshi = super annoying... I can't remember much on Universe, never watched much of it... and Ditsyness is certainly not a new word :p

Well, lets see...

I watched an episode of Devil May Cry... Didn't impress me too much but video quality was poor so I'm sure the eye candy factor was reduced. None the less, DMC did seem like a cool series, reminded me of Gun Grave.

In the news... Naruto Shippuden episode 19 was released yesterday. More of the same of course... Too much talking and not enough action but that should change soon enough. :trouble:

Um... Here's something for all the Americans...
Anyone noticed that Sci-Fi channel started showing anime again? Yup, that's right, one of the American pioneers has taken up the trade again and now series like Macross Plus have a place on cable television.
"Ani-mondays" are already running and will be shown every monday night! :dopey:

Have fun with the news!

But they are dubs... and dubs < subs, more so when a company like Viz or Tokyopop gets ahold of them... and does this.

Linking because of graphic cartoon violence. :p

Sci Fi is good, but I dun if I have it right now at home... and I still just see most stuff before it hits US shores anyhow. Ah, the wonders of the internets.

Yeah, I'm not really the guy to talk to about Sub vs Dub...
Of course the original is better. :dunce:
But I'm not enough of a snob about what anime I get to turn down free Marcross on monday night cable. :p

Plain and simple, it's not which is better, it's which can I have. :D

I think of it like this...
The Japanese Civic Type R is awesome.
The US Civic Si is similar but not quite as awesome.
Does the awesomeness of the JDM Civic warrant me turning my nose up at the US Civic? I thought not. :sly:

Haha... thats one way.

In some cases though, its like they took the Type R, took of the fancy body trim, put the Fit's motor in it, and then forced you to buy it with 100k mile tires and an auto tranny. Oh, the call it the Honda C car :p

Thats how it feels to me at times... espcially with Initial D.

Any anime on TV is better than no anime, be it subs or dubs. Frankly, I could absolutely care less if it is subbed or dubbed, so long as it is on TV. The only time I really have a problem with subtitles or dubbing is whenever a company changes what was originally being said in the show.

Kent, what shows are Sci Fi showing on Mondays? I have noticed them advertising it when I have been watching SG-1 on Monday, but have never remembered to watch it. I see you have mentioned Macross. Are they showing anything else?

ZOMG!YES!!!!I'm watching this monday!
The shows are:Noein, Tokken, and Macross.

I heard Noein was good and the dub is pretty good. I remember running into some bloppers of the show on youtube and it was crazy. When I find it I'll post it.

To me, I don't care if It's subbed or dubbed. As long as 4kids doesn't have it!

I prefer the uncut dub the most, because you got the raw footage and language in English :)

BTW, I just saw episode 1 of Wangun Midnight,Go and watch this! I love it! Nice car, nice animation, and nice storyline. Smokey Nagata meets Wes Craven's "Charlene" (or whatever the name of the possesed car movie).

On the sub vs. dub debate, I don't watch anime that isn't subbed. By that same token, if an anime is dubbed poorly (and I have no outside reason to watch it. I still watch Pokemon because it is part of my childhood, no matter how horrible it is now. And for that matter, I watched all of Sonic X, and the dubbing of that was particularly bad for a 4Kids show), I won't watch it either. The most recent example of this would be when I passed on Ghost in the Shell 2 when it first came out on DVD because it wasn't dubbed like the first movie; or, indeed, the two series; were.

they have a Haruhi dud coming soon! I heard it and it sounds Really good!

You mean dub? Because two of four Haruhi discs have been released in the US already, and the dub is really quite good :) I'd watch it in English the full way through without complaints. Glad to see that companies are getting their dubs in order - at least it seems better since the last dub I watched a few years ago (Cardcaptors, which was a catastrophe). 👍

lol Cardcaptor's dub was ridiculous! Sakura had a Valley girl voice  .

Speaking of horrible dubs... I finally turned Cartoon Network on when Naruto was running... I had to turn it off after 3 minutes... it was just unbearable. Worst voices ever for characters...

Can we please try to avoid the sub vs dub thing.
It's such a cliche.

That said, tonight is ani-monday on Sci-fi.
The last OVA of Macross Plus will probably air (as I saw the third episode last week).
Also, one movie I saw in the ads that wasn't mentioned in the previous discussion of sci-fi's line-up is Ninja Scroll. I'm sure they will be showing that! Unfortunately, it's going to be ruined. :ouch: Not by dubbing, but by editing (no doubt as it would be impossible to show some of the stuff from that movie on cable). :(
