I didn't know that there was anime version of Starship Troopers during the 80's.. found only two episodes though. it's quite a lot different from the movie, but has many similar key scenes.

Hey everyone, is there any news on WM? Been months since I last seen it, just check IDW again, but was still disappointed with no new release of subbed ep. 7 & 8. The Japanese version in already on ep. 13 & 14! I totally give up watching WM now.... :guilty: But still, I'm watching Cowbob Bebop now, currently on ep. 4. Its one one amazing anime...... even though it was made in 1998, but the style of the anime is really ahead of its time. 👍

^ I know!! There is not much eng-sub communities willing to sub WM. :indiff:

-> I really do hope companies like LunarAnime or Dattebayo or the guys who did Eureka Seven could sub it. :(

-> Its ok really, I'm currently watching Tsukuyomi Moonphase, Bleach, and Eureka Seven. ;)

Oh man you won't regret Death Note. Every ep is worth it:). I hear a lot of of possible feedback of Cowboy Bebop. I tihnk that i will download it soon:)

^ Cowboy Bebop ain't all that unfortunately, I consider it as one of the most overrated animes of all time. :indiff:

-> Death Note on the other hand was one of the best, each episode has that distinct plot twist that willl make you mad! 👍

Well I am one of the many that enjoyed Cowboy Bebop a lot. It is one of the few series that I actually plan on buying a box set of...

QFT, on both statements 👍

Overrated? I think Naruto's the overrated one. :grumpy: I mean 1 out of every 5 kids/friends that I know of knows Naruto, and yet they don't know wtf is Cowboy Bebop. Yeah, well.... I couldn't care less about them or Naruto! Hmmmm.... haven't really decide what anime to download now. Either Last Exile or Death Note which you guys always mentioned about.....

I can't tell you how funny it is to see you say that, or vanishingboy for that matter. It's almost as good as seeing people say DBZ was the best anime ever!

Silly anime fans.

To be fair im inclined to agree with BL and i havnt even seen Cowboy Bebop! The one thing that has stopped me from watching it is all this overhype it seems to generate. Im well aware that if lots of people like it then chances are its fairly good however its all the "its the greatest anime ever" comments which really shy me away from it. After hearing how good it is im a little worried it really wont live up to expectations. Its been sitting on my hard drive for little over a year now and ill probably watch it sooner or later but for now it can carry on collecting dust.

Spec....

ps, whos with me for destroying all evidence of DBZ's existance? i CANNOT stand that show!

^ Heh, heh, I don't even bother Naruto, I keep on metioning CBjust because I'm tired of hearing people saying "it's the bestest than anything evar!" :indiff:

CB isn't the best, but its combination of style, great characters and music make it very, very close to the top. ;)

EDIT: Heh, realised I still have my Bebop avatar.

Instead of Studying for my japanese test, i just watched the whole Berserker Anime series, and i watched up to episode 18 of Great Teacher Onizuka...

Anyone here read the Berserker mangas? it looks like thats the only way i'll ever get to know the rest of the story...

Just thought I'd mention that Sci-Fi channel (in their anime greatness) are currently showing the Ghost In The Shell movie (the original).
Although it's not the best, it's still a good dose of anime. 👍
Plus, it's probably the only anime on television right now! :ouch:

Ive been watching Wangan Midnight lately. I really like it tho I expected to see more cars and main character working his way up a type of ladder much like TK. I knew it would be different from Initial D but its way different than I thought and I love it. Initial D is still may favorite of all time but this shows exactly what I expect to see from a storyline based around the Wangan. It also seems that they dont get into the more technical and detailed things about cars like Int D did, but im only on the 6th episode.

Another thing that kinda made me wonder was that the fastest ive actually heard them state their (driving characters) speeds were was over 180km, I think this maybe like 120mph I think. Definitely expected more from a 500hp R33. And they also kinda over-do the misfire/backfires from the exhaust and shift gears alot at topspeed. The original Japanese soundtrack is not corny like Int Ds first season (the english dub was especially horrible) with its low budget hiphop tracks. Overall its great though. Im loving all the cars and I was suprised to see the exotics thrown in. All they need to do now is create a live action movie lol.

Edit: I was really looking forward to seeing some 3000 GT0s, Supras, Fairlady Zs ya know but, just like Int D made fall in love (always liked) with the AE86 im now really loving the S30 alot more. Also scratch the speed issue, there now showing the speedometers hitting around 300kmph/ about 180ish mph. Im also loving the attention to detail as they show the L28 stripped down and spread out over a shop table.

How many eps are there atm for Wangan Midnight?

Well there are 6 English subbed episodes (7 if you include the Youtube version) and the current Japanese version is at ep. 14. God I hate Nomake Wan for not subbing newer episodes, and I blame others as well to just rely on him and not make it themselves!!!! :grumpy:

Just got done watching The Big O and I had completely forgot how crazy the ending was. I'll have to back and watch it all again here in the near future to see what I can figure out. Its good though, just confusing.

Whenever they release the complete DVD set for the first season ill go get it. But I hate collecting single eps.

That resident evil clip definitely has me interested. I'm a huge RE4 fan (and not the worst of players with my Gamecube copy of the game). :sly:

Not familiar with Wangan Midnight but I've seen clips and BM tests based on the anime. I'm guessing high speeds are common in that show, more common than drifting? Whatever the case I'm sure it's cool. 👍

Also, regarding Big O...
Wasn't a fan. :ouch:
Felt like the philosophical dialog was forced and the never came across as very deep (not to knock the series all that bad... It did keep my attention well enough to watch! ).

I think Big O could have been better if the depth of Richard's character had been better explored through the use of supporting characters. Maybe reducing the time spent developing the Dorthy character would have given the writers more time to show Richard's past with the police veteran... Would also give a little more time for the chick with wing scars.

All in all Big O was good but I felt like it could have been better. 7 out of 10 maybe? 👍

When it comes to Wangan midnight or just anime in general I go to Veoh.com

Thanks bro this site is pretty sweet. Im suprised I havent heard of it.
Still cant find any eng dubbed past eps. 7 tho.

Kent yes its great. Not only fast cars, but the storyline and detail are intriguing.

Its done by the same people that do Initial D, so the cars are well modeled and the driving is decent. Higher speeds for sure and some neat developments and exotic cars. I like it quite a bit, but stuck on episode 6 as well.

Ive just discovered Capeta. Seems pretty cool.., the first episode I watched was I believe the third or fourth and all he did is get overlapped the entire time while driving a poor built cart. I guess if two of my interest are mix together (cars/motorsports and anime) im bound to fall for it. I need another craze though, something mature and action oriented. Mature like Demon City, Doomed Megalopolis or Jin Ron. Any suggestions?

Jin Roh... Haven't heard of that in a long time. Not a bad one but definitely not good enough to live up to the hype recreated by the images for advertising.

Suggestions for what you asked about...

Ghost in the Shell, the first movie (I haven't seen the second), and the first season of "Stand Alone Complex" might fit the bill.
Likewise, Hellsing could be fun for you. 👍
Of course, my current fav is Bleach but that probably doesn't fit the bill. :ouch:

Good luck finding something new!

As for me... I'm just waiting on a good copy of Bleach 167 to be subbed and at the same time I'm looking forward to seeing what is going to happen in 168 (does anyone know when that will be out?).

I just watched a new anime called " Soul eater" like a fusion of Deathnote with a sprinkle of cuteness
