Sakuragi Mui

OH No SHE DIDNT!!!!

I'm not going to post miku pics so long as you do it, AOS isn't that cruel-hearted. I only want artist names so I can refer to it whenever I need inspiration or need to do a study on their style.

On top of which, I'm the only one who makes a big deal about artist names anyway. Everyone else just goes "meh". ONEGAI!

What happened in here? Business talk without me?!
Okay, and? I still doubt that the majority of members here have gotten around to doing it. Nobody else here really... focuses on the business aspects of anime, at least not much as you do.

Also, you do realize I want you gone, right?
1. It's called voicing your opinion. It doesn't really have to do with focusing on business. You just vote for what shows on there you are interested in buying if they came here, and what would be your "Must Buys" if they came here. FUNimation later looks at the results, and it gives them a great idea of what people want. When there was that one survey in like 2010 or 2011, it gave them the idea people wanted Princess Jellyfish on DVD/BD. And guess what is happening? It's a top-seller on Rightstuf.

2. Yes, but I don't feel like leaving here. I enjoy posting here, even though there are disagreements.

Want to know what you can do? BLOCK ME. It's like I'm not even here to you. Now that wasn't so hard was it?
If they're so important in determining a physical release then how come these surveys aren't advertised better?
Where are they supposed to advertise them? They're placed on the FUNimation site, sometimes being mentioned on ANN depending on how important they are (This one was.), and mentioned on other forums. Advertising surveys like these isn't all that easy. It's a niche market after all.
It's funny because without people who are willing to spend their money there wouldn't be any anime to watch. And because him and others spend a lot on US releases it's thanks to them that you have English dubs, so if anything you should be thanking him for your free anime.
Indeed, if the otaku didn't buy the anime over there despite those high prices ($60-$100 for 2-4 episodes. Box sets are like $350.), there would be no new anime as it's expensive to make. Production costs found in here (Mainly in "Comparing Anime to Fishing").

As for US releases, yes. When I buy, I do end up helping the companies earn the money to lead to dubs, and of course also getting the money to get other titles over here where they'll be dirt cheap compared to Japan. Though less dubs are made these days because the companies don't have the money, or it's too risky to dub certain shows (I mean it costs like $10,000 to dub a single episode as I've heard.). More and more titles are subbed-only.
Not exactly. Like any tv show, anime main income should be from broadcast. People buying DVDs or BDs is a just a bonus really. And, of course, what really matters is Japan, export is also just a bonus.

Don't get me wrong, they do matter, but there would still be plenty to watch without them.
Sorry to say, but them earning most from the TV ratings isn't true. Most of the income from anime (What they make back.) is made off of the DVD's and BD's. If a show doesn't sell around 3,000 copies per volume (That's apparently the magic number.), it isn't going to break even (Meaning they lost money on the project.), or do better. Ben-To for example isn't breaking even, it's causing the company to lose money because it sold 1,996 copies for volume 2, and the vast majority of sales are from the first week.

Though you are right that they don't need foreign sales. It's just gravy to them right now. Without us though, the market would shrink a bit, but it'd still be about the same as it is now, except reverse-importation fears would be gone completely.
Is that right? I thought because anime was so diverse that when it's being broadcast it was like a promotion for their Manga, DVD's/BD's and merchandise where their main income will come in, since almost every show is limited to one broadcast(I only know of soul eater to have gotten 2 airings in recent years) I was convinced they relied on product sales for their real cash. I've took that as fact for years, so I'm kinda surprised.
It pretty much is promotion. The DVD's and BD's are the main income, merchandise doesn't come close, but it can help. Also indeed, most shows get only one broadcast. Miss an episode and you're screwed. Soul Eater has aired only twice, the second airing having these new openings and endings which I think are kinda crappy, but that's just me.

Wow, just wow. They really messed up. Now I know why we're having FUNimation suing what ADV Films has become.

*Smashes into wall of text above me with his iPod.*

I really need to go back to watching Denpa Onna again...I could just watch the whole lot of it on Saturday since it's decently short...

Sorry, blame me bleeding, causes me to make long posts due to my brain not getting enough blood. I got e-stabbed yesterday by someone on the [adult swim] boards for voting for Guilty Crown in that FUNimation survey.

Why did I make a post that made no sense again?

If you posted a little more, that wouldn't be an issue for you.

Some people don't have the ability to just stay awake for hours and hours at a time....

*has a huffy moment*

Nah, I enjoy the fast moving conversation anyway. Makes a change sometimes from having stale, slow conversation that I have at my job sometimes!

DAT ENDING ILLUSTRATION! I can die happy.

 DAT ASS. That's it, I'm watching GC.

Excuse me while I post some pictures.....
*Holo pic dump*
HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG.
Which is my biggest gripe with cosplayers. If you don't look like a charater, then don't cosplay it
I'm still traumatised by the James May lookalike cosplaying as Rei.
"Like in this pic?" *shows me Captain Slow as Rei pic again*
*stuffs sock in Asuka's mouth*

Only thing I ever remember from Miku is the blue hair. That's it. I think the hair defines her.

Quite interesting, really.

Although if you found someone with hair like that, it would be pretty hard to date them normally....

Not posting when you're not going to bed is lamer than going to bed and not posting.

Well I actually was going to bed muahahahaha! At least you fell for it though. :p

Excuse me while I post some pictures.....

These are good, but not as good as that one chick who I can't post on this forum, even though the ears and tail and most likely eyes are CG they did a great job. I'm sure you know the set I'm talking about though.

I don't *hint hint*

@TC: they are really doing something wrong then. I have no idea why it can't work over there the same way it works over here.

and since we were posting about it
I'd crop it vertically even more, personal taste though.

Providing a name would be sufficient.

This is exactly why you don't blend fictional characters with RL women. Regardless, Muza would like to have a word with you :p

Oh GC14... :O

Damn that shifting wall technology is amazing. Literally Ground-breaking.

Shu's going to run everyone eventually. He just needs the motivation.

I think I liked Inori about 5 times as much now... *pokerface* "Nope. No one attacked me." *walks away from a bloody mess* got damn :3

OH SHU! Indiscriminately knocking that gun out?! DAMN <3

I predict, like I predicted before, Shu's going to survey everyone's voids and keep all the really useful ones, form a Funeral Parlour of his own and then...well I don't know what happens after they escape. They don't even know where that scientist is. Oh damn, what's going to happen when Shu finds out his Mom has been working for the old dude?!

Shu's too much of a nice guy to go with Yahiro's "value of the void = value of the person" plan. But he's definitely going to utilize his buffet of voids.

And that killer Inori made me :3 as well. Knew it was going to happen, there's a reason her void is a sword after all.

I predict that Shu's going to wimp out one more time when either he loses the morale of the crowd, or when one of his friends died because "he made a bad judgement". I'm totally expecting it now so I won't be so damn disappointed again.

I think I want.

I'm excited to get home and watch the new Persona 4. I still have an exam to do... but that starts at 1, so I'm bored until then.

Anime Update -> I just stumbled this anime series called Kiru Mī Beibē (Baby,Please Kill Me/Please Kill Me Baby/Kill Me Baby):

Please_kill_me_baby.jpg

^ Just to have a good laugh. Currently watching it right now! ;P

Lots of people already dropped the show.... and the baby.
Same people like Boys Nichijou's humour a lot more.

Want this?

Oh word, Kanda Midori apparently retired from cosplaying mid-summer 2011.

^ Sure it may have Nichijou's cues (and even art style). But it has a lot dark persona within it. :)

Anime Update -> Just finished 1st episode and boy it made me chuckle a lot! And I'm growing fond of this girl.
