Just ordered my favorite anime film on Amazon, Neo Tokyo, if you have no clue what this film is, look it up, its three short stories directed by Shigeyuki Hayashi (Astro Boy, X, Metropolis), Yoshiaki Kawajiri (Lensman, Wicked City), and Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira, Steamboy, Roujin Z).

Yeah that's the reason I only go to one a year. It's close and I am broke lol.

I don't know how a few of my friends afford to make outfits and go to the cons all the time. It makes no sense. Some of them are loaded, but most are as broke as I am.

Sadly I know a lot of people who basically mooch. They just jump from one friend to the next saying in rooms for free, bumming food, some of them even get people to buy them plane tickets...

I know people who do that too. One of them just takes a LOT of alcohol and uses that to bargain for rooms to sleep in, which is actually kind of funny because it works really well.

I'm on episode 4. Sure, the one on the ship was hard, but the one after, I solved before the character was even introduced.

Some build up over the story, some are simple and are solved instantly. There's some neat-o ones, but don't expect too much from the beginning. Just note that while the show has mysteries, it's not the entire selling point of it, ironically enough.

Watched a few more episodes of Gosick. Victorique is actually pretty cute, especially when she pouts. Also, she must have an insane metabolism if all she eats are sweets and she doesn't exercise at all.

Sweet Mari dump. 👍

Gosick is really about Victorique and Kujo. The mysteries are just setting. It's a character development show, not a plot show.

I need to get that Kuroneko Nendo.

My waifu collection has grown +3 👍

Haha, I know the feeling. I only watched Oreimo a month or so ago, and as I got to the end I was like "oh crap, now I have another character to waste all my money on." There was also an element of "oh crap, all those nice figures and merchandise that came and went before I knew she was mai future waifu."

This can be found on Netflix? The more I know. Loved that show. Time to see it again. :)

They're in the disc section of the sight. I can run the streaming because 1. I don't have internet in my apartment and 2. I'm running Linux and Netflix streaming isn't compatible with Linux (which I still don't full understand. I mean, if it runs off of flash, or XML, the browser should take care of that....but...whatever.)

Stuff that is sometimes over looked in Gosick are annoying me, like how they speak Japanese in a country that most likely should speak French and can read stuff not written in Japanese. Also, elevators. One more thing, why did they make Victorique's sneezes so uncute?

Dude, they are speaking the country's native language. No one there but Kujo knows Japanese. Remember it's a show. The intended audience is Japanese, so of course every character will speak it. Common sense. Btw, I'm glad she sneezes like a real woman and not some cutsie little cookie cutter Moe sneeze.

A lot of movies, tv shows, and anime do this because of the language of the target audience. Has nothing to do with realism... else we'd have a lot of movies in mostly foreign languages.

If there's an overwhelming amount of people that should be speaking one language, they'll keep it Japanese, however if there's the odd English scene, they'll use Engrish.

That complaint is pretty stupid, because most people who say it wouldn't be phased if they had people speaking English in a North American movie set in France or Italy or something.
