I think it's gonna be too complicated with staggered starts, everything else sounds good, i like the idea of tracks you haven't seen before. you will have to take it a bit more easy than usual so that you don't make mistakes because that is what really counts in the long run.

That Cobra is really a monster, i'm going to have a real handful controlling it on a road course like toscana ^^ I hope mr Lotus has some handy tips on how to drive it since he got me in to this :P

I don't know if this has already been brought up, but it would be cool to have only one driver for each car.
That way we wouldn't have to make it to every single "stage."

Is there an exact time you had planned. Ive started running in the Flyin Miata series, so I'll be occupied the next few Sunday evenings, and Easter weekend is going to bad in general...

If the time is right, put me down for team Jaguar!

My dad has a replica in real life, and my only tip is to hold on tight. You need a wheel to make the most out of the car. Dont go full throttle until you exit the corner :P

Luckily I have a wheel ^^ but i think i learned to control it a little after driving a while yesterday so it should be ok, it's real fun to drive at least! By the way is is the premium cobra or the AC cobra that we're using?
 
I am currently in the middle of a league series on Sunday evenings. Saturday evening races would get my vote, but I could squeeze it in on Sunday late afternoon/early eve. My current league starts at 8:00 pm Sun EST. If majority voting puts this thing late Sundays, I'll be forced to back out but with no hard feelings, I know scheduling is tricky with multiple time zones

Either, they are exactly the same car. (Well, for some reason the AC is slower, yet they use exactly the same engine.)

All made in Surrey, UK I believe. But I think the Standard one is more accurate to the one in the film, without the disgusting front and rear chrome bumpers which are on the premium one.

I will be using the premium though, for Interier View :)
 
BTW when we start this race, can we make sure the Jaguar doesnt start up? :)

Edit: BTBTW, maybe we should do 2/4 races, but instead of having like two cobras out, we have one team member driving the cobra and one in spectator view guiding them using PSN Chat or Mic, and then the drivers switch for the next race.

Just an idea that you could work on or just ignore ;)
 
What are the regs for cars?

Big fan of standard with low-grip tyres.

Not sure how we'd even things up (or if we need to) - ballast maybe based on power to weight?

- I have a mint unmodded ferrari in the garage!
 
Wow page 3! High five! Not got much time to post tonight, so I'll just quickly say good to hear these suggestions- I'll take them on board.
As I stated before I'm happy to switch to teams with less names on to help the race out, so I might move to Team Mercedes..

Vdub- most of info on car regs are on first page and I edited second post with pics of the cars for this- where I've been able to find premium models I chose them to make participation easier.

Team lotus- do you always double post lol :D and yes, if we hadn't/ don't get enough names I was going to drop the Jaguar hehe!

I'll be on here tomo afternoon most likely to add to this thread.

so in true gumball style (maybe im thinking of cannonball run) but will a certain level of tom foolery be permitted? after all its a illegal secret street race,
maybe have full damage on and make it a knockout system over a few races, the "cops" give a 20 second head start then have to chase down the runners, anyone taken out becomes a cop for the next run? maybe have it over 3 medium length races, possibly throw in a leige gravel course to replicate a bit of the nevada offroading?
full damage on so that if a cop tries to take you out there has to be a level of skill or they'll total their own car too,
just a thought, this is the result of reading the your post then going to work and letting my imagination take over haha.

^ That sounds like a fun idea, but if you're supposed to "ram" the opponent and damage is set to full... I more for just catching up with them and "touching" the opponent car one time.

Just heard on the radio that Sony say it might be a couple of days before the network issues are fixed and that it's been playing up for over 20 hours.

Next weekend for the race 30th or 1st ( sat / sun ) and I'll go back to edit the second post this weekend with the race details/ re-iterate the regulations.


No destruction derby racing though!! I'm happy to re-run the race in different formats however.

Thanks again for your suggestions and support for this race everyone :D

Nah man, in fact I was busier than anticipated over the weekend so haven't edited the second post yet. Gonna do so now.

I hope the PSN is running as usual on the weekend!!
 
Second post edited- take a look and see if we're all okay with the time and rules and lemme know what I've missed..
 
No mate, you can add any modifications except for turning a car into an RM model.
The limit is 530PP though, but it's up-to you how you mod it.
The Cobra needs full ballast to bring down its power to weight level, whilst the slower car in the grid- the Mercedes- will be fully loaded and just falling short of the PP cap.


I've made a garage of the cars in the race here, just to clarify it in-case anyone wants to check that.
