I think we should do it on Mt Aso or something :)

I would love to design the track :)

Chaps... just a quick though.

Isn't May 8th Mothers Day? I may find myself occupied with the days festivities?

Not mothers day in my country but maybe for the brits? or where are you from?

Sorry to dbl, but which tires will you be running? In the first post it says they'll all be the same, but then mentions getting sports softs AND racing hards?

So which tire so we can have some time to tune our hooptys.

Okay, I've read through this twice, and the only questions I have left are, what time does the second race start, and have we settled on a track? I see Nurburgring mentioned, as well as a generated course...

Right I'm hoping for this weekend as said before but still no network today!? ( I was hoping it would be up and that there would be seasonal events :( ) So it might be up tomo, but as mentioned the less time we have to notify ppl, the more chance they won't be available.
So, it might have to go to next weekend at this rate?
I will pm everyone on the list when it is up though.

Evo the tyre choice I would like to go with racing hard- but I was thinking that if we manage to have a testing/ practice lounge before the race/ race day then we would make the final decision after that. So you might like to test your tune on both tyres.

Schaden the second race I want to do maybe 20-30 min break after the first one. I would like to race on Nurburg, if we use one or two generated tracks it would be in addition to that track so practice and tune on there :)

TL I'd ask you to design the track as you've shown interest in this.

I'll post in here tomo with an update ppl.

Thanks :)

Racing hards really? I'd go for sports tyres, feels more like gumball, don't think they had racing tyres when driving on public roads?

Well I think we should do a big race on a randomly generated mt aso road, with realistic turns etc. I would be willing to spend an hour or so perfecting a track for that. That way, people wont know the track and so everyone will be at a level pegging. I will only do a lap round it to see if there are no blind jumps etc.

Up to you Andy :)

Just a thought. Since I have a standard car, I'll be driving in the chase camera. I assume when you say "no blind jumps" thats what you mean actually, but just to be certain... have a go in the 3rd person view as well and make sure we don't end up with those crazy changes that will just blind me.

Sports softs are probably much more realistic, but having cars like the cobra might just make it impossible to run on sports softs and have any traction? Dunno... I can tell you that the modded jag is awfully busy at the rear end... even on racing hards.

The cobra comes with sport hards as standard if i record correctly and since we won't be able to modify the engine or anything, only adding weight (correct me if i'm wrong) it shouldn't be impossible to control with sport softs?

I really think this debate should be settled in online testing, there is also the question of how long each tire will last

Talking of that. The Cobra may have a speed advantage but we will have to pit a lot more. By the way, I am able to make my 764bhp Cobra behave on Sports Hards. I am quite a smooth driver when I want to be :D

I have 3 Cobras :D

Yeah i kind of doubt we'll win like in the movie but we'll have a lot of fun with our slidy cobras ^^
(though i also can be pretty smooth i doubt i'll be as smooth when the tyres go away..)

We will win dont worry about that.

American Power with British Engineered Chassis... :D

Exactly. Adding all of that weight turns it into a common muscle car... :(

Btw, I have a feeling that adding all that weight to the Cobra will make us needing a pit stop every lap for tyres.

Maybe we should drive the standard cobra? then at least we won't have to add weight.. but then again it's much heavier from the start so it might make very little difference.

edit: pitting every lap.. hm that sucks a bit, at least we can make the wieght distrubution even, that will be the only positive thing.

The E-Type shall demonstrate the AC Cobra why British-engineered British automobiles are superior to British-bodied American musclecars.

I wonder which car that really is the best.. haven't driven all of them and definitely not with the modifications allowed.

at least it now seems that psn will be up soon now.

edit: since the psn isn't up yet i thought we could compare some times in practise mode.. i just did my very first run on "the ring" with my cobra, i've added weight to get it down to 530 pp and sport softs otherwise it's still stock. This is my very first lap and it wasn't fast and some mistakes were made (i even got a red time but i didn't cut, just crashed a tiny bit) but i thought since we are gonna race on unknown tracks the first run might be representative :) so here goes, my time was:

8:00:5

i probably should add that since i haven't fixed the transmission yet the car tops out all the time at 250 km/h

edit: I tried to change the transmission to a fully customizable one and run it without any tinkering and well it felt slow.. didn't accelerate nearly as fast as before and my total time even got 3 seconds slower.. i guess things isn't always that easy :P

If the network isn't up tonight I think reschedule will be in order then?

Sports softs will be used for the races.

Regarding TL's post at the top I had a thought so let me know what you guys think, how about the first race on Nurburg and the second on the generated track?

Does that mean the drivers will drive different tracks? there will be some interesting strategic decisions to be made in choosing driver for race 1 and 2.. hm since i don't know any of the other drivers the matching against certain skillful opponents will be impossible.. but if we use the ring and a random track we'll have to decide who is the ringmaster in the team. Maybe i should discuss this with my team mate and not publicly :P

Yep a different race for each driver on a team :) I think it could add some more uncertainty and variety to the race- perhaps the better driver on the ring might be the better driver on the team and could do better on the unknown track, or as you say knowing who sets the better time on the ring gives the team the best position leading into that second race..
Something to consider.

My mate in real life has a Jaguar E-Type. They are aweful. My dad has a Cobra replica in real life, and it would humiliate it in a race. :D

After reading your comments on the weight of the AC Cobra I checked it out and it's 1311kg and doing rigidity/ engine it's 522pp so when the engine breaks in it won't take any other mods I expect so using the Shelby with ballast you have the lighter car; 1268kg and 526pp having broke the engine in a bit.
You happy with using the premium model guys?

Oh and although I've run the ring in these cars a few times I just got a 7:55 in the Z28 using a different suspension set-up.
