u would have seen what is called a lexceen (sp?). it is a commodore vr body, motor......well basicly a commodore except for the badge. holden gave them the licencing rights for that model only. y i dont know

No. I think that is a Daewoo Leganza in NZ and Aussie so there would be two of the same cars. Anyway, the cars in the range with Holden badges on come from Opel, which currently make superior cars to Daewoo (Astra, Barina and Vectra, Zafira) where the Astra has still been called the class leader by a few publictions (and its over 5 1/2 years old) while the others are not put to shame in their classes.
If it wasn't for Opel, Holdens range would be **** compared to Ford at the moment

HRT_Maloo, the Magnus is actually the Leganza's replacement(New body, chassis & mechanicals).

btw, you've forgotten one manufacturer, Suzuki. The manufacture the Chevrolet Cruze & then rebadge them as Holdens for Aus. & NZ consumption.

Actually the toyota lexcen started with the VN commodore and stoped at the VR. When i was at primary we had a teacher trying to make her lexcen look like a VP Commodore.

Toyota Lexcen is bascially a poor mans commodore

Yep. AWD, and tricked up to 200kw + that would rock.

HSV did have an Astra at the late 80s/early 90s called SV1800. It was based off the Nissan Sentra/Pulsar which were ****ing awesome cars. When I was about 6 my dad bought one (as a Nissan) off his work as it had been a company car. It had around 200,000km on it and it had been thrashed through all of them. We had it for a few years and it was still been thrashed and sold it at around 280,000 without any problems.

They were good touring cars as well (1600cc or something like that- Scott Dixon raced them when he was 13 )

Are you sure the Astra would be able to HANDLE 200kW+ and AWD? And would the two diffs required for AWD actually fit under the Astra?

But that would definitely be nice.

of cause u need internal upgrades and about the awd, check out the Pulsar GTiR, there pretty small and are awd.

I dunno, i was deaming, but with enough money, it probably could be done.
Ive seen Astra rally cars in Europe, and no doubt they are awd
