Maybe. The gap was remaining static at around 11 seconds, but that was 15 laps from the finish. I think the end would have been EXTREMELY close.

Yep I agree. Although I was rooting for Skaifey from the start (and quite a comeback it was after Bargwanna clipped his front end ) I think Murph really did deserve the win. I reckon that would have put the wind right up the stewards, because he most certainly DIDN'T deserve that 5-minute penalty last year, when it was the car controller who bungled the stop.

Sitting 11-odd seconds behind Murph, that door wasn't doing anyone any harm. As soon as Skaife got a sniff of a race win, the stewards brought him in.

THAT is why Skaife didn't win the race.
