Which doesn't exclude the possibility of sending a full season entry. Extreme example: do one round, skip rest of the races and pay the fines = still a full season entry.
Why would they do that? To make headlines when they annouce a full season? They've already made several headlines this week.

Imho yet another announcement would suit their low key approach strategy quite well. I.e. not confirming anything too much beforehand. All along these announcements seem to have been building a jigsaw puzzle.

I'm just going to assume assume that not a full season entry = not eligible to score points and thus no name in the championship standings. So that's one benefit of full season entry status.

Sporting regs are not yet available neither of us really knows but I believe that is incorrect... or at least Sebring and Le Mans are exceptions.

Not yet available to 'normal' people ;).

I suppose ALMS and LMS series races that are also WEC races will have entrants from both series.

WEC-only races will probably allow non-WEC entries, like TOYOTA or HIGHCROFT :D

The consequence would be that they don't get points for the WEC.

But I'm a "normal" guy, so whoever isn't :sly: may correct me here.

Not entirely true, Sebring is the only event with the WEC sharing. ELMS doesn't share any events with the WEC, as an example the UK's WEC round is at Silverstone and the ELMS event is at Donington. It's also been stated somewhere, can't remember where, that applying for singular events within the WEC (with the sole exception of Le Mans) is not possible...

As in the regulations go to the teams first so they can make their cars, once everything is done and official the regulations are posted on the FIA site for everyone else to look at.
Of course... I was just referring to the wink smilie because in this context Stavelot sounded like he had the regs (see the previous reply). :dunce:

Try to remember? :D I'm doubtful. At least this isn't officially stated in any of the FIA WMSC press releases/decisions and as said the sporting regs aren't yet out. My opinion is that it could be possible, but that kind of entry wouldn't be eligible to score points.

If (keyword: if) it were possible to enter single WEC rounds you wouldn't score points nor would your position affect other cars which would essentially make you invisible.

However seeing as the WEC is like Le Mans as far as entries go (you submit an entry and then you will get an invite if your entry is accepted) it will not be allowed to enter single events without a full season entry.

Almost... Race classification and final race results as they are/were but point scoring simply ignores the non-WEC entries. That's the way it was in the ILMC.

Just realised it's the 80th Le Mans this year, and my 20th bday (it's always the weekend before/after my bday).. so annoyed I'm probably not going to be able to go.. But it also means (as long as no WW3 breaks out, and the world doesn't end in December :dopey:) that the 100th running will be on my 40th.. Planning just a little too far ahead maybe?

Yep it is. Its basically the anniversary year for Sportscar racing. In march, we'll soon have the 60th Anniversary of the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Yeah I knew about Sebring, if I hadn't been to Morocco for a month I'd probably have gone there :ouch:

Hopefully I can blag some Le Mans tickets for my birthday though 👍

Just a little bit ;)

Hopefully they will be back in the ALMS and Le Mans. Seems silly to waist driving talent like that in Grand Am GT category which is more for gentleman drivers than full out factory drivers.

The series already has a ton of GT entrants so GA doesn't exactly need more, the ALMS would be better off with Risi as they actually need more entries...

When the car wasn't broken or sliding sideways at mid-ohio or running out of gas...Melo and Vilander actually made it pretty competitive, even despite all the waivers for other GT teams.

I know, driver's excuses :sly:
