I'm reading reports of another R18 (not sure what version) destroyed yesterday in an accident, while being driven by Timo Bernhard in the testing Audi is doing (or was) at Sebring.

So does that mean neither the Ultra or the E-tron?

Audi was running 4 cars in this test. 1 normal, 1 ultra, 2 e-tron. I guess they're all R18's if they aren't sorry for the confusion.

Problem is ... Audi isn't even admitting anything happened at the moment, let alone what car or the exact condition of Timo

EDIT - It's 2 e-tron cars sorry.

It appears the car that crashed was actually an Ultra.

Hellz yes. I can't wait to see that happen (whenever it happens).

How strange, an actual Lotus in faux-JPS colours.

Fixed :p
Lotus have "adopted" this famous colour scheme but historically their colours have been the traditional British Racing Green combined with the yellow stripe.

But because Lotus Group wishes to have large-scale brand identity and because they've agreed to let Caterham run in Green+Yellow, they have instead decided to claim Black+Gold as their colours.

But anyway, yeah, the GT cars are probably the only "real" Lotus cars in racing these days haha.

Next they'll paint a DP chassis Black and Yellow and call that a Lotus too. /speculation

Another GTE car that ISNT a Ferrari or Porsche is a welcome sight. Lets just hope they do better than Jaguar did in the ALMS..

There's nothing stopping Lotus from creating a DP body to put on the Riley chassis. They just need an engine for it.

The Lexus/Toyota 5 liter? I thought they used Toyota engines in their Evora for a while.

They back Rebellion right now, who I thought used Toyota engines.

Believe so. If Toyota is willing to build an engine for the specs of the series.

Also, looked at tickets for ALMS @ VIR. $90 for the 4 day package that includes the 4 support races. With it only about a 90 minute drive from my house, I'm very much considering it.

I think they already do.

My Dad has just bought us 3-day passes for the ALMS at Monterrey, the closest event to my house (4 or 5 hours away). I'm not much interested in the support races, but the 6 Hours of ALMS is what made me really want to go. How long is the VIR race? 2.5 hours?
