Ah, was about to switch for Formula 1 and that happened... Hopefully he could get the car back to the pit, seems like he only damaged the bodywork.

luckily I get the i player so i can catch up on the f1 later.. ilmc takes priiority ;)
No7s closed up quite a lot now

Huge shunt for TDS Lola, safety car, Mcnish with problems. OAK and Rebellion spinning...

Safety car. My, nothing at all happens in Endurance racing does it! This is so boring. :)

No. I'd say Audi LMP1 (Since they're so successful at it), Porsche LMP2, and Bentley as GT...alongside Audi (Audi was looking into the entering the R8 in GT this year but couldn't afford to run a GT AND LMP team, so the R8 GT car got nixed) and Porsche. Bentley could bring back the Speed 8, as well.

Don't forget, the Laguna Seca 6 hour ALMS race is coming up....and then Oct. 1st is Petit.

Lol....

Porsche has confirmed they will be in LMP1 not LMP2....Bentley will not be able to bring back the Speed 8 for obvious reasons though a Conti GT GTE car is possible (destroke the 6.75l V8 and viola, engine for the car). Audi will either hang around in LMP1 or will be replaced by Bentley in P1 and they'll go dominate GTE for a while.

Either way, who knows?

Nissan 'looking at' LMP1 entry in next few years, from the rlm commentary.. Imagine a couple of years time the GT academy winners all winning Le Mans ;)

They lacked pace all day for some reason, the one that finished fourth had a good last hour or so though, close to third a couple of times

Oreca P1 Coupe with a Nissan V8 seems the likely answer as Oreca was apparently in talks with a manufacturer about P1....(they won't be running the Pug after this year)

There's supposedly some movie (internet movie?) about the GT Academy people out now but I didn't catch the link in time to write it down. Saw a commercial during a football game of all things. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Was anyone else a Silverstone on Sunday, was a great day despite the wind! I stood watching the cars flying through Maggots and Becketts and they looked absolutely incredible

The only down point was the wind liberating me from a £5 note when sat in the stand by Becketts so if any of the GTP found a fiver around that area please have a beer on me!

It was pretty loud, the wind was strong up in the stand by Maggots and Becketts, literally blowing the coffee out of my cup.

Did you see any good action?

I was there all weekend, I can assure you the wind on Sunday was nothing like on Saturday, you should have seen the state of our tent! I went down to Maggots and Becketts a few times over the course of the weekend, great view from the grandstand and I finally got to see the cornering speed difference between the P1 and GTE cars up close, it's mental! saw plenty of near misses. :scared:

The cornering speed difference is quite scary and how they all deal with traffic is mind boggling, I'm surprised there aren't more incidents

Wooo Lizards, great drive from the No.45 car. Congratulations to Dyson for wrapping up the championship too.

Yeah, they held on and on the last lap the 458 ran out of fuel. They took the checkered.

What an intense race. Some people say endurance racing is boring? Just watch the final 10 minutes or so. 👍 Lol People thought the BMW's where going to win but like I say "It's not over 'till it's over" - Especially true for endurance racing. :) Awesome 6 hours that was!

So guys, there's this guy in ALMS's Facebook page talking about a restrictor in a BMW being too large. What is he trying to say?

(I know you're trying to say why I didn't just ask him straight about this but I don't want to create a fuss in the comment page there )

That the Vettes have smaller restrictorplates...?

The BMW's have a larger air restrictor then the rest of the field. Think they have or had a larger rear wing then the rest of the field too. Basically just poor performance balancing from the ACO giving the BMW's an advantage over the rest of the GT field.

Looking forward to Petit Le Mans, the Audi R18 is supposed to be there, so it should be a great race.
