Yes, same here but there's just been a replay of it.

Ouch! Hard luck Audi.

No sound for me either :(

The Audi tried going through the middle of 2 others, they couldn't have been expected to see an Audi R18 come out of nowhere, patience is needed in traffic sometimes.

I'm well sick of all these yellow sodding flags. The Nurburgring 24 hour method for yellows should be adopted for all endurance racing.

But the cars are slower and the laps longer in that race, I doubt the road cones and a Land Rover method would work at La Sarthe!

Cranes and snatch vehicles on the outside of the track are not difficult things to do.

Getting drivers to actually slow down when they see a yellow flag is slightly harder but nothing a few severe penalties can't sort out.

The gap between the pavement and guardrails is considerably less on the ring compared to tracks like Road Atlanta.

So was I.

It's easier for a crane to reach over and lift a car on the ring than it is on a track like Road Atlanta where there are more runoff area's.

Hence the snatch vehicles on the outside of the track via access roads.

Still no audio on the stream.:banghead:

I'm going to skip the end to go to sleep but I don't think its over yet, anything could happen in the night, I wouldn't be surprised if Sarrazins car clips a backmarker at some point and gives the win to ORECA (what a double that would be this year for them!

I didn't realise it was after 1 AM. It's funny how time flies when I watch endurance races.

Still there's only 41 laps to go.

I lol'd hard at the rapid pit-lane take off just as the official was checking out the legality panel.

EDIT: Fantastic move from Bergmeister, he was all over that BMW for the last few laps.

Awesome GT Class battle! Shame for my BMW though, but it doesn't matter what a great racing there!

Now I'm tired..

Yeah, he was just about to look what's down there and as he look back to the car it just went away..

Would someone mind filling me in on what happened in the 2nd half of the race? I had to leave just gone half distance laps wise, (went to see Jurassic Park at the cinema :D) something about an audi and a pug crashing?

And of course congratulations to Lucas Ordonez for taking the LMP2 title!

I missed a bit at the end but caught a few things on youtube. Looks like the Pug driver #8 passed a GTC porsche while battling #1 Audi for pole position on one of the wide lefthanders, but the Audi tried to stick his nose to the Pug's left during the pass, probably assuming the Pug knew he was there and would give room. I honestly don't think Audi had enough of a run on them to do that, but either way the Pug turned left toward the Audi, forcing him into the porsche driver and off the track. Somehow the porsche driver recovered and kept driving, but the Audi was destroyed.

Not sure if they called it an incident or not and who they blamed.

EDIT: looking at it again I think it was just an accident, no one specific blatantly at fault. Audi was trying to pass while side-by-side with the porsche, and he wasn't very far up on #8 when he was making the maneuver, however I think he really was expecting 8 to hold right rather than cut back in front of the porsche. It all depends on where on the track they were and how the optimal line sets up into the next corner. If Audi was just sticking its nose into Pug's line then they should know better. If Pug's sweep left was unexpected then it's on Pug. But really just seems accidental all around.

Good race, I loved the battle between the Lizard Porsche and the BMW on the last couple laps!
