Well, it's good to know that bit about the missing link isn't a flight of fancy on my own part, but I'm still looking to find that album title ... I'm really curious as to what it is because I found St. Anger to be disappointing (like everyone else).

The title hasn't been decided yet. The album probably won't be released until September at the earliest.

There are rumours though that a single might be released in a couple of weeks to a months time. We'll see.

So you want everyone to sound the same? You must like mtv.

Wrong, I am actually against pretty much the entire death metal scene (with a few exceptions, scar symmetry being one) for all sounding the same. I'm just saying that it could be used as a selling point. I don't dislike female singers, and I'm a pretty big advocate of trying new things but theirs just a point where you are too different that it kind of even dances along the lines of almost not being metal.

Oh, by the way on the issue of 'tallica go to:

www.missionmetallica.com in about 10 minutes.

Heh, there's about thirty seconds' worth of new material in the two videos posted over at Mission Metallica (OK, that's an exaggeration; I don't know how much there is, but it ain't much), but already it's sounding great. They weren't lying when they said they were aiming somewhere between Justice and Black, though some of it sounds closer to the Black era (not that that's a problem) ...

I hope they do a good album but I don't think its likely. They need to do an awesome-beyond-belief album to save themselves in a lot of peoples eyes.

Lets see what happens.

Heh, one of my friends just put me onto Am I Blood. I'd never heard of them before - I think they're a Finnish outfit - but it's made of awesome.

WOW, I after seeing your post, I went searching this band on YouTube, and I am impressed and already addicted.
It sounds a little like old metallica, but I prefer this band, since I don’t like metallica too much. But this band sounds very cool, and more melodically and accessible. 👍 I like love it.

Well, I'm loving The One Who Forgives the most at the moment, but I haven't had a chance to listen to that much of their stuff just yet. I can feel a lot of undetones that remind me of Ride the Lightning and ... And Justice for All, and the singer's voice sounds a lot like Hetfield on Kill 'Em All.

Not sure if Ive posted in this thread before and not about to troll through over 100 pages to find out :P

I have my youngest sister to thank for putting me onto a few of these guys, some of which I've seen live:

Nightwish
Stratovarious
Blind Guardian
Dragonforce
Iced Earth

Anything loud and heavy, I'll listen to at least once, more than likely, I'll keep listening to them :)

The one who forgives is a great song, but even though, I prefer the Supremacy of Failiure. It really has some cool and addicting riffs.

The NEW Nightwish is great. I don't like, although, the old nightwish, the "opera style" voice throws me off.
But I am seeing you like Power/Progressive Metal. I know some good bands like:
Avantasia;
After Forever;
Hammerfall;
Sonata Arctica 👍 ;
Symphony X 👍 ;
Ten.

That you may like, and give them a go.

I still find myself addicted to In Flames, but more to albums like Colony, Reroute to Remain, Soundtrack to your Escape and Come Clarity. I just had enough of A Sense of Purpose, but still even now and then I listen to it.

I am also addicted to By Night, another great Sweden Band. It has a really great riffs and the music never sounds the same from the Beginning to the end, nor they sound the same in the whole album. It is really a great and original Band, like I have never heard before. 👍 👍 👍

I haven't actually heard that one yet; I'm on a download limit and YouTube naturally wreaks hell wth it.

But don't be thanking me for it; thank Rowan, my best mate who lives down the hall from me.

Finally someone agrees! I can't express enough satisfaction with the new sound they got. I'm thinking about seeing them live when they roll through town in September.

Well, Metallica have finally announced the title of their ninth effort: Death Magnetic.

I admit, it does take a little bit of getting used to, but if anything it reminds me of the James Bond films for the oddbll title. Sure, it's not the same as something like Goldfinger, Thunderball, Moonraker, Octopussy, GoldenEye or Quantum of Solace, but it certainly sounds in the similar mindset of taking two words and fusing them together.

guys, have a look at the review below (it's from Kerrang, but don't let that put you off! Not something I'd ever read) and if it sounds like it may be your thing, take a look here --> www.myspace.com/sevenyearsdeadmusic

So, you are the bassist, cool. Your singer is real good, reminds me of Crush 40 Singer 👍. And your guitar sound is real loud and heavy. I would add that sounds a bit like Machine Head, Soil and Five Finger Death Punch. Great Band 👍

hey, cheers LdS, our drummer will be proud of your comments - he's from Porto!!! :cheers:

Sounds like a mix of Pantera and some really young singer guy band.

Good metal though. I hate the crap that's on the radio where they just repeat the same thing over and over and over. This is different and follows a musical construction/formula that I like.

Question guys:

Anyone here got Megadeths DVD, That one night?

I ask as it sounds to me that Daves guitar drowns out everything else. I could here the drums, just. The bass was non-existant and as far as the lead guitar goes....

My copy isn't like that. Dave's is the most prominent but you can hear everything. The Rude Awakening dvd was the same. My Machine Head Elegies dvd has non-existent lead guitar.
