Pretty much all of Death Magnetic has been leaked onto YouTube.

And it's awesome. I'm totally buying it this weekend.
Yeah Death Magnetic seem to be pretty good actually. My fav Metallica song is The Unforgiven though.

The band I'm into right now is Dream Theater, or I've been into them for a long time.. Pretty much every album they've made rocks. In their first album (When Day And Dream Unite) they didn't have the sound that became "their own" but I almost like the singer they had during that album (Charlie Dominici) more than the singer they have now (James LaBrie) and have had since the second album (Images And Words) wich by the way is my favorite album.

This is when they celebrated 15 years:

My fav metallica song has to be Fade to Black really mellow but with a lot of power in some parts, really one of my favorite songs of all time.

Dream Theater FTW!!

I also like something like sonata arctica, stratovarius, helloween, some children of bodom and the likes, I don't really like death metal though as I like to actually be able to understand the lyrics.

EDIT: Almost forgot Symphony X.

I never liked Dream Theater former singer, although I'm getting tired of Labrie too. Specially live.

To me the perfect match would be Dream Theater with Russell Allen singing. That would totally rock!

Yeah, Russel has a better voice, but somehow I think James's voice goes really good with Dream Theater's music.

EDIT: Anyway, Michael Romeo has got to be one of the best guitar players in the world!

And also one of the ugliest.

Russel also is a lot more carismatic on stage, but yeah I think LaBrie's voice actually goes pretty well with the overall feeling of DT's music.

Yngwie is uglier:sick:

So, new down here in the music section. Better than making a whole new thread, i figured I'd ask you guys what you thought. :shrugs: I usually make themed CDs and, truth be told, I'm tired of hearing rap blaring from every car around me. So I devised to make a CD kinda as a combatant. Some of the material is stuff I felt would work, so they're already filled it. :D

"Music Designed to Make Children Cry"
"Ghostflowers"/ OTEP

Let us know how it works out. I'd also suggest

Bleed / Meshuggah
Deathbox / Mnemic
In The Fire / Roadrunner United Allstars
The Armageddon Anthem / Zonaria

Die MF Die / Dope

I would suggest:

Ruin - Lamb of God
The Moor or Serenity Painted Death - Opeth
Slit Your Guts - Cryptopsy
Anything by Children of Bodom
Havenless - Enslaved
One Road to Asa Bay - Bathory

Those are some of the bands I like listening to that you might want to check out to put on your CD. Don't limit yourslef to those songs, Each of those bands has a lot of awesome music and you can get some pretty brutal stuff that would make the rappers shake :)

Edit: I agree MJR is one of the best guitarists ever, pretty fast and super clean with great rhythms and chord changes. He writes some pretty complicated arrangements.

"The Becoming"/ Nine Inch Nails
"Chaos A.D."/ Sepultura
"Davidian", "Ten Ton Hammer", "The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears"/Machine Head
"Edgecrusher"/ Fear Factory (from the Obsolete album)

I am currently listening to the new Trivium disc, Shogun (pronounced 'show goon'). Not too bad so far. Trivium haven't been at the top of my list but I don't mind taking the time to listen to them.

Another band I recently got into is the japanese metal group, Onmyouza (陰陽座). If you like metal bands with female singers, you should check them out. Their new album is called Chimimouryou (魑魅魍魎), and their album released last year is called Maou Taiten (魔王戴天). I dig them! Two metal fists up!

The new Trivium cd is awesome. Way better than anything else they have done.

edit: Just checked out Onmyouza and they are pretty sweet too. 👍

Damn it feels great to enjoy different kinds of music. A few hours ago I was listening to Skid Row's Slave To The Grind album, then Opeth's Blackwater Park album, then Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here album and now I'm listening to the No More Tears album by Ozzy Osbourne!

My favorite Ozzy album btw... Most of you probably liked Ozzy the most when he was in Black Sabbath (I do like Black Sabbath as well though) or during his early solo career, but not me.

Speaking of Japanese metal, have you heard of Versailles (Versailles -Philharmonic Quintet-)? I just found them tonight and I really dig them. 👍

Sigh's where it's at. And their album Hangman's Hymn has a pretty cool cover too. Someone should totally hotlink it.

I have custom 'country of origin' metadata tags on all my music (sounds fancy eh? :dopey:) It's fun seeing what countries contribute the most to my collection.

It blows The Crusade out of the water. I liked The Crusade, but it got old pretty quickly.

I agree with what the reviewers were saying about Trivium when their first two cds came out. If they keep it up, they will definetly be the next Metallica. 👍

thing on the ceiling that spins and cools the room...also sometimes has lights
All yallz should listen to Despised Icon and All Shall Perish. z0mg drums!

Umm..wow. My ears! :scared: Does the drummer for Despised Icon use triggers? He's insanely fast.

I like All Shall Persih. 👍

Despised Icon sounds sick..... 👍

Anyhow, just finished downloading the entire album of Bleeding Through's new album, Declaration. After listening to the entire album I am just amazed how awesome the entire album was. Not sure if I could compare to their other albums as I haven't listened to their other album fully just yet but its definitely good. 👍 Here were the two main songs that I liked in their album:

I could so totally buy this album if it came out here in Malaysia.....

So as some of you may know, Scar Symmetry fired their singer after they recorded their latest album. They just released info on their new singers.

Scar Symmetry on Myspace
Dear friends,

when things went from bad to worse and we realized that it wasn't going to work out with Christian, we were faced with two options; either calling it quits, or seizing the opportunity to take the next logical step in the evolution of our sound. We chose the latter.

We've used both growls and clean vocals in our music since day one, and with each album we've pushed the envelope of what you can do vocally in a metal band to the point where a lot of the songs on "Holographic Universe" would be hard if not impossible to sing live.
So the question is: Is it really possible to push the vocals even further and manage to perform everything live?

The answer is YES! Instead of hiring a new singer, we decided - some of you might already have figured it out by now - to recruit TWO singers! The idea of having two vocalists in the band is something that's been in the back of our minds for a long time, and after auditioning and rehearsing with two of Sweden's best vocalists we're thrilled, excited, stoked-beyond-belief!!!

So let us introduce you to...

ROBERTH KARLSSON - lead growl vocals and backing clean vocals
Roberth was our first choice for the growling position. Jonas once called him "Sweden's finest growler", which is no overstatement. Roberth has been involved in many band throughout the years, among others Edge of Sanity and Facebreaker.

LARS PALMQVIST - lead clean vocals and backing growl vocals
Roberth introduced us to his long-time friend Lars, who blew us away with his powerful-yet-beautiful voice.
You can imagine our excitement when we learned that he's a fantastic growler as well! Despite his amazing talents he's virtually unknown to the metal public, which just might change as of today!

We are very fortunate to have found these guys. They bring to the band not only their incredible skills but also a positive vibe we haven't had for some time.

We've posted a videoclip from when we auditioned Roberth and Lars, as a little teaser... Yes it might come across as we were drunk the entire time, which probably is very close to the truth.
Enjoy!

After we disclosed the news about Christian leaving Scar Symmetry, we received a lot of applications for the vocalist-spot, both from unknown and well-known singers, from all around the world.
Though we had already decided upon Roberth and Lars, it was really cool to listen to all of you! We didn't have time to reply to everyone, so here's a big THANK YOU to all of you who made the effort to send us your stuff!

Watch the video. I think we are in for a treat on the next Scary Symmetry album. 👍

hehe... I've been away for some time, yet I was just reading the Scar Symmetry myspace and found out about this and came around to post the news... dammit Chaz!

Anyway, apparently they've hired two singers.

So was Karlsson the singer from Edge of Sanity? If so, the growling is amazing.

Those guys sound so much like Toki and Skwissgar.
