For Slipknot, I would not really consider them REAL metal myself. They are more into this Korn-style hip-hop grind, Marilyn Manson-esque shock rock, and rap metal; which I refer as nu-metal. And speaking of which, Slipknot, I believe, is the heaviest nu-metal band I heard. But I still consider Slipknot as a pathetic attempt to fuse grindcore with nu-metal itself also adding the use of melody in their music besides the wanna-be death metal growling 👎
