You definately (well, at least I do) have to be in a certain mood to listen to Tool. I can't just throw on a Tool cd and listen to it.

Tool is almost a Marmite band.

I personally like Undertow the best, but I don't consider them pure metal... maybe a mix between prog, hard rock and supernatural voice.

Well I could definatly listen to tool anytime, I dont realy have a mood for music though..If I like it I'll listen to it I realy dont care.:)

But yea tool is'nt hardcore metal, they are a little but they are progressive too. Thats why part of why I like them...It's not the same stuff all the time.:sly:

I just cant take to much of these lightsweights. Sure they have some decent stuff but I feel the need for something brutal coming on just thinking about it...

 I know the exact feeling.

After listening to Tool I usually have to play some grind core with a really strong cookie monster voice.

I know its been out for awhile now, but I just got the new Amon Amarth album. God damn – best.melodeath.band.ever!

(Yes, it is that good)

I listen to classic heavy metal:

Iron Maiden (mostly)👍 :sly:
Judas Priest:tup:
Saxon
Rhapsody (Yeah yeah, power metal)
Dream Theater (Ok, progressive)
Manowar

I don't like this Rammstein stuff. It's too "wild" for me.
I hate death and black metal, mostly because of the brutal vocals.
However, I like Children of Bodom music, they have a great guitarist:tup: .
I also like hard rock, you know, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and so on!

Anybody here listen to Trivium.

I have The Crusade album they realeased recently and I think it is a very good album. I like every single song on it.

If you have listened to them befor edo you know how screamo their older albums are, because I was thinking about getting them too but I don't want to listen to screamo stuff. It ruins the music for me and I have to turn it off.

It's not screamo. The only song that could be classified "emo" to the ear is "Dying In Your Arms". Ascendency was great. You should check it out. If you are referring to just screaming as Screamo than yeh, nearly all the lyrics are screamed..

Yea I get them mixed up. I mean't as in does he actually sing much or mainly just scream everything. I'll still check Ascendancy out though.

Ascendency is mostly screamed, but he does soft sing a lot of stuff. His screaming's not as inunderstandable as some other bands. pretty good stuff.

But overall Lamb of God is my favorite. Kataklysm is sometimes hit or miss for me.

metallica i my favorite:crazy:

can you be any more specific? Like why do you like them, which are your favourite albums, favourite songs, favourite instrument and/or player. Do you think James Hetfield should stop singing and concentrate on playing the guitar better? Should Lars Ulrich commit suicide for "taking the reigns" of Metallica and taking a semi-deity of metal and turning it into the poser trash they've become ever since Load?

Posts like yours are the reason no one likes noobs.

I could probably still listen to their stuff before 1988. Before that they were still doing metal. As a whole though there are much better bands out there.

I'm glad to see that you didn't get angry.. :) :p
The only thing that I like about Metallica, is the riff from "Wherever (or whenever?) I may Roam. The vocals suck.:indiff:

In my opinion, their old stuff was way better. They're trying faaaaar too hard to be Metallica with "The Crusade".

You have to divide Metallica into two groups. B.B.R. (before Bob Rock) and A.B.R. (after Bob Rock). The B.B.R. Metallica was great -> Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, ...and Justice for All.

And in they're older stuff they were trying far too hard to be a generic metalcore band. Trivium = suck. :dopey:

I have "The Crusade" but I don't listen to it much. And yes, their singer sounds a lot like Hetfield.
