^Yup, they've way too much time that could be better spent on a more graphically advanced video game. Not to dis' Minesweeper, I've wasted a good portion of unproductive hours on it also, I still like it :)

With a laptop?? Very good time.

Yep, kieran, 119 secs is awesome. I d/l:ed su27killers vid of it but it needed some strange codec which I didn't feel like installing so unfortunately haven't seen that one. Anyone else saw it?

Yes, I saw it :)

You've got Camtasia codec here, install it, don't happy, be worry :)

Btw accepted records are 1,11,41. And you can be lucky only on beginner...on expert board community havent found board with less than 95 3bv(minimal number of left clicks needed to solve board), 22 on intermediate.

You've got nice clone here, much better than original :

But consecutive wins?

My screen currently says 165 wins, 0 losses, 100%, 165 wins in a row... :D

I'll have a crack at Minesweeper up at dad's this week. My records on his computer aren't bad, I recall.
You've got the number of 1 particular game and just memorized how to do it haven't you? :p

All Freecell games are possible to solve - though it may be that not all possible combinations of cards are.

Depends on which version you're using. You're still wrong though :D. In Win98 game 11,982 is unbeatable (as well as -1 and -2, if you count them). In XP 11,982, 146,692, 186,216, 455,889, 495,505, 512,118, 517,776, and 781,948 are unwinnable.

Minesweeper!:

This is my special 'super expert' mode; 24x30 (the biggest possible field), and 170 mines. That's approximatly a 3% higher mine concentration then expert mode on a field 25% larger. It took me far too long to beat this, I don't really play minesweeper anymore.

You need to increase the number of mines. They're way too far apart. I could do that in about 10 minutes.

Okay, I'll concede that you could probably beat me by 14 seconds, and be satisfied with the many many hours of doing something else I've just gained. :D

I tried that setup and it felt a bit harder than the expert level, found myself more often stuck without nothing to do but to guess. The 3% extra surely does make a difference. The fact that the field is more square should also affect the level of difficulty but I have no idea if it's for better or worse. FAAAMINE? :D

I haven't played on this computer after a reinstall so these are just some new times from half an hours play.

Not great, but decent (as you can tell, I haven't spent much time on beginner level):

Also, here's a screenshot of the version I wrote for 1st year uni (doesn't look great, and no timer, but it was done in a short amount of time):

A mate of mine programmed a game called "FineSweeper" (not in any way related to Microsoft's Minesweeper! ;) ), which is pretty good and worth a look. You can find it here (Downloads > Lamsey's Creations > FineSweeper)

It doesn't look like the screenie you posted. ? I'd like the big frames since I can get a bit unsteady on the hand at times.. :)

55 and 176 is pretty good times if you ask me.

At the level I'm now it feels as I have to learn playing the game without marking any flags to get radical improvement.

Haven't played this too much but here are my records.

Not too impressive lol

Umm, as you say, not too impressive but thanks for contributing. :)

Nice revival, amp. Didn't excpect this thread to be seen again. :D 166 on expert impresses me anyway!

very lucky on beginner, lol. its always nice when 3 clicks win it

Very lucky ey, how about extremely lucky!! Never had the opportunity to win it in 3 clicks, how often does that combination come up, out of curiousity?

just as much as any other combination :p lol

i was so stunned by the first click, it took ages for the next two...considering the first click starts the timer, after that it was 3 secinds for two clicks of the mouse. I must have very bad reactions...

EDIT: i believe its 1 in 6285169300071168000 times. If my calculations are correct (im waiting for someone to prove me wrong, lol)

RE-EDIT: actualy it would be that time the number of combos that can be solved in 3 clicks. And i refuse to work that out, howevermuch it bugs me!!

Was on for a good time in Expert when I clicked the left mouse button rather than the right button by mistake. Grrrrr :grumpy:

Last time i made that mistake i was on track for a brilliant time - then i hit the wrong button. Didn't play Minesweeper for years after that :grumpy:

I can't play this game. It is slowly drawing me closer to the cliff of rage. I need to stop before I put my fist through my screen.

Why, people? Why can I not win?

Oh my God, Mindsweeper is people!!

The only time I ever completed a level was yesterday. It was at the Beginner level and I beat it in 25 seconds. I was really lucky. I tried for about an hour afterwards to complete one again, and never did.

:-)

Minesweeper?! Minesweeper?!

?!?!?!

Its like a H-bomb in my brain! What is its value? Its so complicated and blehh??? Minesweeper? I don't get the fascination with it.

Holy old thread batman!

Fascination with minesweeper is that it is an excellent way to waste time :).

It really is a great game. I spent over an hour last night trying to work through the expert level. I never did win but I was down to 35 mines once.

I may be hooked:indiff:....
