For those of you in the UK, you can listen to the whole album for free on The Guardian's website

edit: Hmmm, I'm finding it a bit of a mixed bag - Black Holes & Revelations was always going to be a hard act to follow...

It's definitely very different to past albums, but not in a bad way. A mix of genres and personally I think they've done great with all of it, absolutely love the 3 part symphonic song and Resistance has so far taken place as my favourite song on the album.

You say that but I think BHAR's was their poorest album to date. Origin of Symmetry is my favourite. But I'm not listening to it until I get the album actually in my hands, (Saturday or Monday).

Play.com have my copy currently 'packing' so fingers crossed for Saturday (tomorrow would be ideal, but unlikely).

My copy turned up this morning, just listening to the CD currently, then I'll watch the Making Of DVD. So far so good :D

My bloody lazy postie is yet to arrive, something I have been venting about all morning.

I want my copy.

Hmm, sounds like the postmen around here...They always seem to be late, I ended up waiting until 3:30PM the other day whilst waiting for Dirt 2 to arrive! Luckily my postman was early today which was good!

My opinion so far on the album is that it is very good, albeit not as good as OoS but I never expected it to be. Muse has moved on since then, and evolved as the case may be. As someone else said, its very different but at the same time very good. My favourites so far have to be a toss up between MK Ultra (Loving the opening riff) and Unnatural Selection (Epic riff, mix of New Born and Citizen Erased). Of course I still love Uprising, but it doesn't feel new anymore! I haven't managed to watch the DVD from start to finish yet but I plan to watch that tommorrow.

So simply, I love it. We'll see if opinions change as time moves on though. But for now, time to learn some of those tunes on guitar :)

Thank you post office for utterly failing to provide the service for which people pay.

As you may guess my copy has not yet arrived, went out the afternoon/evening and upon my return the door mat was still bare.

I can only guess that my copy has got caught up in the latest postal dispute.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I got the album last friday. Listened to it just once today. Will listen to ik everyday this week. The last three orchestra songs seem a bit weird. But maybe it takes some time getting used to.

Song 1 and 2 are currently my favourites.

It is still on the Guardian website if you are desperate to hear what all the fuss is about! Like MarcoM, I like the first couple of songs as well, but they seem to lose the plot later on...

It's funny, I really quite like Exogenesis, maybe not Pt1 or Pt2, but Pt3 is just beautiful. Considering what the song is about and how it sounds, it just fits really nicely. Obviously, if you don't know what the song is about it probably doesn't have the same impact.

My favourite songs have to be; MK Ultra, Unnatural Selection, Resistance, Uprising, Exogenesis Pt3. Thats not saying the rest are bad, far from it I'd still prefer to listen to anything off this album over most pop artists. However, I also acknowledge that for some people this album won't be their type of thing, I also agree that this isn't their strongest album. But it certainly isn't their worst.

1. Origin Of Symmetry
2. Absolution
3. The Resistance
4. Black Holes & Revelations
5. Showbiz

Showbiz is only at the bottom because there are some songs on it which, just don't flow as well. However there are also some great songs on there. Origin of Symmetry and Abso are the types of albums you can listen start to finish without skipping a track. The Resistance is kind of similar in that aspect, however with BH&R I always found myself skipping Hoodoo, Soldiers Poem and sometimes Exo-Politics and Take A Bow.

Of course, music is all down to opinion but I personally don't think this album is that bad. Infact, far from it.

^^ For me it takes at least listening more than 10 times to it before I can really appreciate it. That might sound strange. But look at it this way. Some music is so bad you really now it by listening to the first 3 seconds of it.

My first encounter with Muse's music was I think through GT4 (it is in it's sound track I believe). Then you start searching for it and beginning to like it.

I consider Muse a time resistant band. They are no fashion victims. That's what I like abou them.

Yep it turned up yesterday and I've been listening to it in the car a lot since.

It seems to be quite a diverse albumn for Muse, the first four tracks alone cover a wide base. Only one of which I would class as 'home ground' for them (Uprising), with Undisclosed Desires reminding me of good '80s New Wave, and Resistance and United States have them in full 'Queen' rock opera mode.

None of which is bad at all, in fact the more I listen, the more I like.

Sorry, but I really don't like this album. Bellamy is getting way too paranoid and crotchety; if he keeps going like this he's going to wind up in an asylum.

You think the albums paranoid? He beleived some conspiracys so religiously he went to the local shop, bought all the beans in stock, got an axe from a diy store and locked himself in his nuclear bunker studio for a week or 2.

Thats paranoid:D

On another note I just watched the Uprising video exclusive on MTV2, excellent video as ever with Muse, the single cover makes sense now.:) Wont ruin for everyone though, go check it out. midnight for the next showing on MTV2.

Seen it :D Now whens the Single DVD going to come out....

I'm having a pretty hard time getting this to grow on me as to "OMGgreatalbum!!one!", its actually a good album, pretty weird for Muse standards if you ask me, and not like a direct evolution of black holes... but it was the same with black holes, when I heard it and coming from Absolution, it was like "oh man weird", and then grew on me (and I agree with Speedster, weakest Muse album, you could say that kinghs of Cydonia is the entire album). Form what i've heard so far, the part I like more is the last three songs. Intense.

Should come back here to report when it actually grows on me.

Tickets for the concert at the o2 next month have arrived:D Really cant wait now, this is one of the greatest albums ever and the tour will be unbeleivable.

While I still do not think this is the best Muse album ever, I am beginning to like more tracks. Not it's 1, 2 and track 7. That intro is really yummie :P

^^ I am jealous at MildAshers for going to the concert.

Soooo lucky, I was gutted I didn't get tickets for Sheffield, even with the second batch they released. I was watching videos of the Helsinki gig (that took place Thursday night) and the stage looks phenomenal. They also played Exogenesis Part 1 too :) But sadly no MK Ultra yet.

As far as the album is concerned, for me it's a constant grower. There's a couple of songs which I do skip from time to time, maybe because I've heard it more than others. Undisclosed Desires was the biggest surprise for me seeming I really didn't think I would like it, however its probably one of the stronger songs on the album, the whispering during the second verse is strange, but creepy at the same time. I really like Resistance, the way the song builds up is brilliant (not quite as brilliant as Showbiz's building up though). Unnatural Selection is perhaps may favourite song, it just screams OoS Muse. Exogenesis is of course fantastic, my favourite part being Pt3. It's actually quite touching :)

Oh by the way, Muse did a cover of Popcorn back at the Teignmouth gigs, they've played it a couple of gigs across America, and now we have a Proshot video of it! Try not to have that stuck in your head!

The gig was absolutely incredible, the noise, the athmosphere, the arena, the band, it was incredible! Queued for 6 hours and got pretty near the front, stage is real close to the front of the crowd so gotan amazing view of the guys. The setlist was great, couple of suprises, Unintended and Nishe for example.

Full set: (cant remember the order for some of it)
