Grandpa now youve had some decent months headstart, would you mind sharing some of your techniques?

How do you eat?
How the hell do you stay alive for so long with out getting shot to death.

I really do like having the rampages but i just cant stay alive long enough. If I'm in a car i can outrun 5 and 6 stars easily but on foot i die way to fast.

Would you be able to give us a in depth guide for one of your typical rampages?

I can always give tips for the races if anybody ask's.

For example my vinewood time, i can give a run down on that if anybody wants it 👍

I'm not even going to try to compete with the really popular stats like that, but I'd still be very interested in an in depth account of your average one or two hour one-man-army rampages.

I`ll get back to you guys on the rampages, I need to think on what to post without writing a novel. 👍

@ Small_Fryz-About eating, remember, you don`t necessarily have to go to a restaurant. A vending machine will work too. If you need fat, just take a Rhino away from a military dude, & you`ll get there just fine. Be prepared for a hail of bullets when you walk out though! I prefer molotovs in this situation, but try not to torch your tank!

you can do it like we wrote up some killing methods in the "killing time!!! (in Vice City)" thread.....

Link in my sig---- Me, Acidman, and a few others wrote some up....

We had one for SA too somewhere but I don't know how far down it is.... I got frustrated in SA in that there just aren't any methods nearly as fast as in VC.... its pretty tough getting more then 2000 per hour---- I haven't tried to find a new method in a while (I only have about 16000 or 17000 in SA).....I know you need to be methodical in whatever method you find and then try to tweak it or whatever to get more victims to spawn..... my rocket launcher method was originally in a different spot.... I kept moving around until I found a way to get cops spawning in 2 different locations, then just kept switching between the 2.... my hunter method I sort of stumbled on while doing brown thunder......

I had a couple of interesting spots in SA but never had time to really mess with them.....

Hey Spuds, The VC killing links didn`t work :grumpy:.
But I agree, getting 2,000 kills/hour is about max for me, using the motorcycle drive-by method(although it gets a bit monotonous). So far, the best town to "rampage" in is SF, IMO. LV has potential too, but I`m sucsessful enough in SF to just stay there. I was thinking about scouting locations in LS to rampage in, but my gang members end up getting killed inadvertantly in the melee :irked:.
Oh, I meant to ask you, if you lose your wanted level by changing clothes, do your kills get counted as legitimate? You said elsewhere that by saving or pay n spraying your kills will be legit, but didn`t say anything about changing clothes. Thanks! :)

It works for me-- I just clicked on it... (links to individual posts)...

try this one...

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=30581&page=1&pp=20
-- link to the thread.

I'm not absolutely positive but am pretty sure, you have to either save or go to a pay n spray for them to become legit...

I kind of liked my method of driving around the 4 dragons casino on a motor bike-- you can get up to 5 stars, save to clear, repeat-- the heli loses you if you drive under the covered walkway to the west and south of the casino-- lots of peds there... I thought I'd get good results there but doing a time trial it wasn't near what I thought it would be....

Doing the method on the bike I select no weapons when on foot but make sure I have a SMG so I can do a forward drive by--- then just tape down the button so it fires forward when ever I'm on the bike-- this allows me to move when I get off the bike and not be firing a weapon... anyway.. all you have to do is steer on the bike....

I messed around in SF and LV with a rocket launcher and minigun at 6 stars but couldn't get the spawning to go fast enough..... very frustrating after finding my 2 VC ways of killing... (both produce over 4000 per hour)---- in both cities I was trying out covered areas so I don't have to mess with shooting down the helis---- these were both for accumulating kills, not for really for racking up CR points.....

I think Small fryz came up with a decent heli method-- can't remember for sure--- there should be a SA killing thread here somewhere.

I don`t know what map you`re using, but maybe get a different map & look again. Of course it`s gonna be time consuming and boring, but do what you`ve gotta do. I kept doing the same thing with gang tags; thinking I had them all only to discover one or two were unaccounted for . The horseshoes are out there, you`ve just got to commit to finding them! 👍

I'm using this map and this one , if that would help. But I can't figure out wich 3 I'm missing. I have done them in order, twice! I hate it!

When i did them, i got a pice of paper and wrote down the number when i found it, then when i saved i crossed off the number.

Did you do that?

The map I used are identical to those except for different colored dots showing whether the horseshoe is at ground level, above ground level, or below ground level. Two horseshoes that alot of people seem to miss are #`s 10 and 32 on the first map. 10 is in a train tunnel (considered "below" ground level), and 32 is on the big billboard. It`s not mandantory to use the jetpack for 32, but makes it MUCH easier to get. Check out those possibilities. 💡
Also, you should do what Small_Fryz suggested. 👍

Over the past 2 or 3 days I’ve been doing the Taxi missions alot. I didn’t really do any testing but Las Venturas seemed the best place to do it, and it was pretty awesome – only 3 or 4 really out of the way destinations.

My only problem was food. This morning I did a big run (95 fares in a row) but I was starting to lose health, and something was on on TV, so I gave it up. In the next few days I want to keep going until CJ dies from starvation – any advice on the best areas to do alot of fares quickly? And will CJ last any longer with full fat/muscle (I think Spuds725 said ‘no’ in the San Andreas Killing thread, but I can’t remember)?

He wont last any longer.

The only way to make him last longer is to have full health.

I just finished another 300 levels of Vigilante. May do some more another day and have a crack at beating the 1000 mark 👍

Yea, I have full health. Damn! :grumpy:

My highest Vigilante level is like 37, I don’t find it that fun. Though, I should do more of it one day to max out my money. :indiff:

Yes. I did exactly as Small Fryz said. And I did found the one under the tunnel and nr 32 ;)
BTW, what map did you use?

Edit : I've found a better map. Maybe that could help ;)

I don't think there is any way to extend it-- does taxi end when you get out??-- they should give you 60 seconds like in vigilante but i don't think they do--- or at least get food from a drive thru???

you should have 96 minutes from eating or saving until you start losing health.... not sure where the best taxi areas are--- did you try angel pine???

Right, but the amount you have of each doesn't matter....whether 100% fat or 10% you will begin to lose it at 49 minutes----

same with muscle--- you will begin to lose it at 73 minutes

And if you have 0 or either, it doesn't matter, you will start losing health at 97 minutes...

Only way to extend your life without eating is to max out your health.... or to cheat...there might be a NEVER HUNGRY button cheat somewhere.....

edit....

Never Hungry cheat for PS2

Square, L2, R1, Triangle, UP, Square, L2, Up, X

Might want to check with Jimmy before using this for any records.....

Jimmy... I think you should consider this-- for any R3 that you can't get out of the vehicles for-- exclude it for Vigilante-- not sure about all the others...

I don't know if this cheat can be turned off--- most can be turned off by entering again.

I’d rather not cheat – the point is to do it until CJ dies … if he never dies, then I never stop. :scared:

How do you get such long distance on 2 wheels?

Also how/where can i do the furtherest hoop?

Guys, I'm going to be taking a break for a while. This could be anywhere from two days to two months, depending on when I get my computer fixed.

Pardon this whole sappy tripe about my life, but I'll briefly explain. I've had a new lease on life, I guess. Things are looking up, and I'm motivated to fix everything and sort out my life. I need to get out and do something, meet new people and get myself a job, at least while I'm motivated to do so. My life is great at the moment, and I think I need to take a break from GTP while I enjoy myself.

I apologise for the inconvenience. You may keep posting records while I'm away, and I'll be sure to come back and update, but unfortunately it won't be updated for a while. Either way, I suggest racking up some records, saving them all in a Word document and hitting me with them all when I get back. I don't have time to update right now, I'm sorry. I also apologise for sounding like DRIFT4EVA in this post.

Just kidding, John. :p

Anyway, I'll be back at some point, I don't know when. I leave this Forum in safe hands with all of you guys, and I know it'll be fine. It's probably the most well-behaved forum on GTPlanet.

I'll be on MSN Messenger occasionally when I get around to it for those that need to talk to me, but until then, I'll see you 'round,
Jimmy.

See ya Matt.... enjoy your break-- time to interact with the 3d people ;)

I saw he was still on line and PMed him with an offer to create a temporary SA recordbook-- the idea is to keep up the interest in the recordbook by all of you, to remove the pressure for him to come back, and to keep him from having to do a huge update when he comes back.... here is our exchange....

Jimmy Enslashay
Spuds725
Saw you are still online...

lemme know if you want me to start a duplicate (temporary) SA recordbook thread-- I can update while you are gone and then you can copy the recordbook back, delete my posts and merge the two threads back together.... save you from doing a potential huge update when you come back...

Just let me know.... I should be able to squeeze in the time to run it.

Spuds
Hmm, I don't mind really. If you wish to, then that's completely okay, but I think it'll be fine. I shouldn't be off for too long. I've thought about it and I'm honestly okay with coming back and doing a big update.

So personally, I'd just leave it as it is for now. But if you think it's for the best for everyone, then go for it.

I'm off for good as of this PM, so I'll see you around,
Jimmy.

So anyway... I think its a good idea to keep up the competition and the interest.... I certainly don't think it will harm the recordbook..... Let me hear your comments.

If positive, I'll start one up in a few days...

Spuds

If you are able to maintain it then i dont see a problem 👍, but if you wont be able to update it for week at a time or so then maybe not.

Personally its up to you, if your comfortable with taking on that responsibilty then by all means go ahead.

You have my full backing what ever you choose 👍

At most it might be a few days between updates (depending on my work schedule and a few other variables)-- its not to hard to do when you keep up on it unless you get monster updates-- and they are out of order-- the VC recordbook doesn't keep me too busy anymore...

If I end up not being able to do it often enough, I'll turn it over to someone else if someone is willing to do it.

Hey Spuds. I`m going to do a "monster" update some time after the first of the year, maybe Jimmy`ll be back by then. If not, I`ll let you know in advance before springin` it on ya. I `m currently working on a record which I`d like to post soon (it`s almost ready), so it`d be great if you can handle an occasional update. It`s entirely up to you though, I`ll still be playing SA regardless! :sly:

No problem.... I've done them before-- the VC recordbook thread has twice as many posts as this one.

As long as you divide them up by sections and list them in the order they are listed in the recordbook its no problem-- when you have to search across sections and up and down is when you make mistakes... this is only critical on large updates.

I mainly suggested this so Matt (Jimmy) wouldn't feel he had to come back any sooner if he didn't want to, and to keep the interest/competition up.

I'll probably start this up tommorrow.... post to the other thread until then if you want.
