I wouldn't have thought we needed it, but without this thread the most likely candidate for political cartoons is the funny picture thread, and folks lose their minds when political cartoons spark discussion in the funny pic thread. Now we have a place for that. This is something the funny pic thread has struggled with for many years now.

Some famous political cartoons over the years:

The Plum Pudding (c.1790s)

The spheres of the world being carved up by William Pitt of Great Britain and Napoleon of France. This was the first political cartoon depicting the now classic trope of a region or land being carved up like a piece of food.

King Andrew The First (1832)

Andrew Jackson of the United States. His opponents saw him as a serial abuser of executive power thus depicting him as a monarch, trampling the constitution.

Dropping The Pilot (1890)

Referencing Plato's ship of state, this cartoon sees Wilhelm II gleefully watching Otto von Bismarck depart from board. It was about von Bismarck's resignation as Chancellor due to political differences.

The Rhodes Colossus (1892)

A pun on the wonder of the ancient world, it depicts Cecil Rhodes, one of Britain's chief colonial imperialists, having one foot in Cairo and the other in Cape Town in celebration of the first transcontinental telegraph line.

A Good Riddance (1917)

George V sweeping away the old German titles of the British royal family; the House name changed from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor and the old titles were retired due to anti-German sentiment during WWI. Likewise, the British titles of German royals were also taken away.

Well, the creator of that first cartoon (Latuff) is far leftist and have a huge bias towards Jews, Police, Right-Wingers and Religious People, i've never seen The West trying to censor cartoons about Jews, i'm also curious about what's it's refering to.
