Not sure if it means anything but Evolution Studios (Driveclub) announced on Twitter that Sony is actually doing maintenence during the hours GT has listed..

Interesting...

The Sony Maintenance runs between 11:00 BST and 17:00 BST whilst the GT6 Maintenance runs between 12:00 BST and 20:00 BST.

So that leaves 3 hours of GT6 Maintenance outside of the Sony Maintenance.

100 new cars is a lot actually, more than many games have in total and that is in addition to the 1000 or so that was already there.

Lack of cars is not an issue in the GT series for sure. The real downside is the total lack of a proper leaderboard system, promised features that are still not present, inferior sounds and poor structure for online play. Tuning is also an issue with GT still having the A,B,C system of tuning and even then some settings carry over from one to the other, no tire pressure settings and camber that does not seem to do anything remotely realistic.

I really do hope that GT7 will change some of these things and make GT a great game again. If it on the other hand follows the pattern we have saw in 5 and 6 then at least I will not be tempted to buy a PS4.

I agree with this . The tuning system is beyond basic in GT , it's a very simple and casual friendly system . Will GT7 be any different than 5 or 6 ? I don't see it changing . Kaz has stated he pays no interest in the other driving games out there , that he follows his own vision of what it will be .

You don't have to wait until GT7 comes out to experience all the above that you mentioned . There are next / current gen games that would make GT6 look like Mario Kart on the SNES if you tried them and are well worth a PS4 purchase / other system .

I have 2 PS3s collecting dust now . If maintenance yields any changes i'm not even sure i'd be tempted to play 6 again . It's remarkable how lightly us fans have let PD off the hook with such a basic driving simulator with the same stuff over and over .

G7 would have to be a break away from casual and back to the real for my purchase .

GT has never been better or closer to 'real' than gt6 in terms of close to sim. So how would it break away from casual and go back to real?

This gave me a laugh . Thanks for that 👍

Let's see ; Realistic handling , realistic tuning / setup options , realistic AI , realistic career mode , realistic damage model , realistic sounds ....

Why don't we start there ?

👍

Well, if I want to play complexe Racing simulations I shurely play something else (Like R3E or rFactor/GTR2). Do you really expect that a game which is produced for a large sum of casual players who only play with the DS3, simulates complexe physics and setup tweaking? the biggest part of the fanbase would be desperatly overchallenged.

Gran Turismo would than have the same problem as Gran Prix Legends or rFactor, most of the people would rant that it's too difficult or that the physics sucks. For this reason PD (sadly!) made a compromise in the physics.

But if you take Gran Turismo for what it is, a fun racing game and not a sim, you can still have fun. Eventhough I'm a sim Racing guy I completely enjoy Gran Turismo. You can't imagine how much fun it is, to compete with your frinds in very tight races.

For this reason I love Gran Turismo. You can have very close races with all your frinds with a big variaty of cars.

You said back to real, as if it was headed away from realistic or previous gran turismo's were more sim like.

That's true @Streetracer77 . Many a casual player has griped about PCars also for example .

@trustjab I've been gaming since long before even GT1 days , and when GT1 , 2 and 3 came along us console only guys regarded the GT series as a real racing sim of the time . There were not many alternatives back then ....

Now ... Different story

Ok. But gt has been the same concept from the beginning. Its not the closest thing but its still close. It has a lot of features and cars, thats what its trademark is. Variety mostly. GT7 should have a lot better quality of realism with the ps4's power. I think itll be awesome. But were off topic.

It's nowhere near close man .
Not if Kaz doesn't want it to be . Will it push the limits and be pretty on PS4 ? Absolutely . Will it be a real racing and driving sim ? Absolutely not .

Indeed . Maintenance is the topic yup .

I dunno, are we going to get thw r3mainder of VGT cars in one hit and that be the end of it? Since there won't be any new production cars or tracks added, Kaz did mention once everyone have had enough of GT6 he'll move on to GT7. Is GT6 actually being cleaned up to be put back in its box and shelved?

Actually I more admire to Driveclub and F:Horizon car list than PCars.

For Driveclub, I just very, very hope PD can work with Evolution especially considering Evolution is now on crisis.
