The reality of Maintenance on GT6

I don't know why people want more cars, we have alredy more than 1200 and the majority of us has tried the 10 or 20 % of it
Many of us have been playing GT for a long time so we've already tried most of the cars in GT3,4,5 that caught our interest and don't have a lot of interest in driving the same cars over and over. GT6 had less than 100 unique premium cars added and anyone that plays regularly will have used any new cars they have interest in quite extensively already. Hence the need for new cars. Besides, getting new stuff gives you the feeling the game is fresh and alive.

A bit less of the snark and a bit more civility, please. This is GTPlanet, not YouTube or Reddit.

Didn't offend anyone , don't even know why you felt the need to point it out.

Agree , veteran GT players get kinda tired of using all the cars , because as you said we already played with them years before.

.
What are the odds that the next update will include a time trial at willow springs.....

Hey, I just so happen to be the founder of GT Wikia! Thanks for the shout-out and the link, dude! :D
You're welcome, even though I had to do a bit of digging for the last 7 or so GT5 updates. But that's often where I find my self when I'm looking for something.

Well, if someone didn't I was going to, it was rude and uncalled for.

AS for the latter, we definitelly don't need 30+ Miata's Skyline's, and S2000's

Edit: Don't let this get to out of control, I won't hesitate to ask Jordan to lock for all of our own good.

Establishing a pattern requires more than one game to compare against. Finding vague similarities with one title and then posing the question of whether or not this is "the beginning of the end" is... well... par for the course around here, I guess.

It would be a shame for us, 'GTPlaneters', a third thread locked for lack of behavior...

Yeah, wouldn't want to embarrass ourselves.

I never get excited about any maintenance, unless its been announced a car or tracks being added. If nothing is announced, then i just take it with a pitch of salt. Really don't know why people get hyped the second maintenance is made public.

Just speculation, out of the 16 we have, there are 13 left. Assuming no other companies pull out. We could see quite a few more.

Just being inquisitive.
As well as the possibility of a manufacturer making more than one VGT. Volkswagen did it.

And Kaz said that more companies might join in aswell wich is awesome , i'd love a Ferrari , Pagani and Lancia VGT (The good old Lancia , not the "rebadged Fiats and Chryslers" Lancia).

Exactly.

You talk as if the cars were the same to drive in GT6 and older GT's. The physics are quite different and improved therefore all the cars feel different comparing to the previous games. Its like having 1000 or so new cars (not counting the repeated ones) as you experience all of them again with the new physics.

That's all debatable. All of that. Lol.

For you maybe, not for me. The physics were better in GT6 but still not great and for me anyway, not that much better that the cars all felt brand new to me. There's no escaping that it's still the same car regardless of the physics. The awful sounds made sure of that as well.

I don't agree with your argument. The cars might have been in earlier versions of the game. But the updated physics engines totally improves or changes the way many of the cars feel. I find it interesting to retry old favorites in the new physics.

Edit: I've been treed by @NixxxoN

Back to thread topic and the reason why I came here, has anyone heard anything about what the maintenance is for?

*excessive but truthful example*
Does the FTO Touring Car feel the same in GT1 as it does in GT6?

That's the thing though, nothing's been announced at all. I don't recall ever getting surprise addons for GT in the past.

Nevertheless, still enjoying GT6 regardless

I wish to remind you of Terronium-12's comment in the other thread
*rough quote*
"Don't be mad that we didn't get an update, focus on what comes after."
We are now in the "after" section...

I'm thinking "after" is after the next two maintenance periods. Here's hoping anyway.

Disagree. Cars in GT5 felt quite a lot more bland and similar. Now you have a new massive range of new feelings and new physics for all the cars.
And the sounds have nothing to do with car's physics.

Yeah right. I suppose you're joking. GT6 and GT4 feel SO MUCH different, let alone comparing GT1 to GT6... its another world.

I was making a point about cars changing. Also on cars changing the Galant was a '89 in GT4 and is a '98 in GT6...

I felt the dynamic way the car progressively shifted weight was an improvement in 6 over 5 . Cars hard to tame in 5 were either easier to drive or I just got dynamically better in 6 . My GTA round 4 time on a mere DS3 probably backs the latter guess . But I agree with Mr Penso on his point however ._

So maintenance ._._. Will it bring anything ? Does anyone with a decent driving sim now really care ? Or is it just people stuck on old gen machines ?

I smell a lot of Project Cars in your post... I have a PS4, But I'm not getting Project Cars, because the decided to not support Logitech wheels.

If they do maintenance, its for some reason... so yeah, it will bring something, make it at least server improvement, or more server stability, in the least.

Then you will not get GT7, because PS4 (not PCars) decided to not support them? Only G29.

Back to the topic, I'm wondering why the maintenance will be 7 hours long, my bet is we will get anything related to content.

Yeah 16 hours of maintenance will probably bring something new besides improving servers quality or anything related to online, my bet is at least one new car if it's not more.
