What should the best tire we use for Season 3 be?

Doing VLN testing: Time Progression number multiply the number of in game minutes that pass in one real life minute. Therefore, for every hour, at 12 time progression, twelve in game hours pass. Race at Le Mans should run with this info.

Also, I'm okay with running the normal season now, but please remind us to read the OP everyday until we remember how cautions work.

How about an optional pre-season this week before Saturday? If that won't work, I'm going on a number generator and even numbers = Audi and odd = Camaro.

I got 23.

Disregard this last bit.

I know the caution rules have been set. But we need it to be more simple than what we have now.

What if everyone just pulled into the pits when caution is called? Then pause the game so no one leaves. Then stewards call out the new order if we are not sure about it. DP leaves pit, GT follows and you have the rest of the lap to get organized.

All that being said, what are GT times at Daytona? Been getting 1:46 in early testing. But I'm pretty sure I was in the 45's when I was putting in some laps for the first pre season race. Car feels really good at 46's though and the next race is really long. So I may just leave it.

1:46's were what I was getting at Daytona, 1:45's once the fuel burnt off. The rest of the field struggled to hit 1:46's, mainly 1:47's, so.... I hit a 1:45.6 in testing with full load of fuel, but I really can't remember how I managed it.

Same here. I could do it for a lap or two but thats it. Gonna try and get as consistent as I can with the 46's.

Havent done any extended testing yet though. But the tires should last a good bit longer here.

Anyone have any kind of idea on how many laps we are going to be running?

Nice! I managed it once, the rest have always been low 1:46's.

I struggled in the race to get below 1:49 since I had to fight Melancholy a fair bit. Once I cleared him I think I ended up going no higher than the 1:48's for 9 laps, a few 1:45's and 1:46's thrown in.

Gonna be a looooong race. Even thinking about testing mediums to see if its worth it.

Me too! It's gonna be a crazy one!

Bellend, start responding on Skype -.-

By the way, Mel, help this Shameful Sheep in finding specs for the motor.

I'm for another preseason race as long as it's before Saturday.

Well all, my wheel will be in the mail back to Logitech tomorrow... It's broke (but under warranty!)

So the race will happen, but I don't know if I'll race, or just watch... I don't want to wreck everyone.

And new modem! Internet problems should be fixed!

Alright so one for no more pre season!

The reason for the race is more for finalizing spec's. The 787b is going to be about 485HP, 1030KG. And the Mazda.... (rx8) needs a solidified spec. The drivers ran two totally different specs last weekend. We need a definite number.

What? I don't know why you want the 787 to have even less power and it's current weight if you're respecing dp's to 1000kg. The top speed was down to the draft. I was nowhere near the Sauber or Nissan's top speed. I just have it set up with low tire wear. Anthony had much faster times than me. He qualified in the 1:30's, I couldn't get below 1:32. The Saubers qualified in front of me as well. On top of that their tire life was equal to mine in terms of laps per stint. I don't know why I was 2nd. Maybe I played traffic to my advantage (except once). Plus on pit stops during the caution my crew was able to get me out quicker than the two Sauber guys. I was in 3rd or 4th I think before then.

Ok, now if the specs were the same (500 bhp / 1050-1060 kg), then I'd be tempted to say yes to the 485 bhp / 1030 kg specs, 490 bhp if it's still too far off. If the other cars are respec'd to 1000kg.... that's a whole different story, and I think Seth'll be at a disadvantage. A big one.

Run them all @1000kg and give the 787 485hp while the rest get 490-500? I'm still going to be disadvantaged. But it doesn't matter much because the races aren't raw pace as weve seen already.

When I tested the 787B at Daytona at 495/1030, I was getting low to mid 1.38s with a 5 minute tune. It was hitting 188 or 189 down the front stretch with max aero. The Sauber was hitting 187 max after a few hours on the car's setup. If we are respeccing all DPs to 1000 kg then I would need to re-test. Seth was in second the whole time at 246. After I spun on lap 1 in turn 2, I never got higher than 3rd except during the pit cycle where I was briefly in 2nd for a lap or 2.

I ran over a half second faster consistently in the race than in qualifying. Fuel burnoff is the reason for that. I would rather run my Sauber at 495/1030 than 500/1050. That trades 5bhp for 20 kg. That actually increases the pp of the Sauber when I tried it. I ran a 1.37.7 at Daytona with the Sauber at 495/1130. I would say at least 15 bhp drop for every 20 kgs dropped.

Youre running turbo's? Cus I'm not. I run the car stock power with limits. Everyone did 1 38's @Daytona, that's not a magical benchmark. The Mazda DOESN'T GET HIGHER IN WEIGHT. It's maxed in ballast with 1030kg. I wasn't in 2nd the whole time as I started 4th. So that's not true. I got passed while pitting as well earlier in the race.

I don't need to run the 787 if it's going to get people anal about it. I'd run the Toyota if I had it. You can tune in 1 minute and run fast times, but to make your car last doing consistent times is another story. Look at the PP for these cars. Even with 1030kg 495hp it's still 20-30PP behind the rest of the DP's. There's a reason for that.

No ones getting anal. Calm down, we'll figure it out.

Why do people always say 'calm down'? I'm not the one worked up.

NO, for fake :sly:

I'm going to get the Toyota today, my game save got lost couple months back so i haven't done a spec events again

I know that 1030 is the max ballast. What I am trying to say is that with the current DP specs as they were at Daytona and R246, the 787B has the speed advantage. I am not running turbos. This isn't lap time, just top speed. What if I ran the Sauber at 495/1030? You would say that it is too fast down the straits. The Sauber regularly hit 190 and 191 at 495/1030. All I am saying is that the car needs to be slowed down. 20kgs is roughly 45lbs which more than makes up for 5 hp. The kg to hp ratio is too high. At your spec, the kg to hp ratio for the 787B is 2.0808. This is what I did 1030/495=2.0808. The kg to hp ratio for the Sauber is 2.1. While that is a small difference, The kg to hp ratio at 1030/491 is 2.0978 which is as close as we can get to the current ratio of 2.1 on my Sauber. That is why the car is faster down the stretch. I know it does sound a little far fetched to argue over 4 hp, but you insist on using your specs which are just slightly edged in your favor. All of this is thrown out the window if the DP's are respecced down to 1000 kg.

Your calculations are great but useless in GT5's world. I'm not sure why your top speed in the Sauber was lower, because it wasn't the case for me. Maybe running a race with the car first would do better justice. That's what I did. Against people too, not the clock. Things are different with competition. 20kg makes such minimal difference. Look at the times for it with 1010kg and see how much faster it is if at all.

From now on, I will run my Sauber at 495/1030 so it will slow down and not be faster than Seth.

Youre comment is pointless because the cars are being redone.
