What should the best tire we use for Season 3 be?

I know Storm wanted the viper specd better for tire wear as well. We may need to just meet up this weekend and finalize specs rather than run another race. This will give the people who don't show up one last chance to stay in the series.
Well seeing as though last year I managed 8 laps barely on Softs with the Viper Coupe on Daytona, and I got 9-10 laps in the Viper ACR, I think the specs are good as they are. It seems the car is competitive.

What concerns me is whether the Ferrari was on pace or not. I noticed Audi was doing good pace-wise from the snippets of racing I could see before I got booted, but Ferrari was lagging behind again? It's specs should be competitive with the Viper, really.

If it can go lower on its weight I recommend it gets lowered, and as for power... 460 bhp?

What was qualifying at Tokyo like? I know I could hit low/mid 1:41's if I pushed it, but how did the rest of you get on?

I wouldn't mind another preseason race, if no one else cares. They're great fun.

Again cnd, I'm sorry I keep running into you in the races. The Mercedes has little bit bigger blind spot then the rest of the cars in my opinion.

Is pitting under caution mandatory?

No, pitting isn't mandatory.

It was short, but I snatched pole position with a 1:42.1 in the Audi. I actually kept up pace with the cars in the corners, but lost a lot of time in the straight. After the race I realized that my car actually had 7 more horses broken in so it had 457 horsepower. And it still wasn't enough to keep up with the other cars on the straight. I've tuned it back to 450 and the best outlap I could do in Tokyo was a 1:42.7.

Did someone actually yell out caution? I t-boned someone in the chicane. I think it was Mel, but I was able to keep going. Wasnt till I caught up to the next person that I realized it was a caution. And then mass confusion on my end. I didnt know where I was supposed to start.

Coming out of the pits, I thought for sure that I would have to start a little further back because I thought I gained positions in the caution. So I slowed down to let the rest of the field pass. But then I heard a bunch of horns and then someone telling me to hurry and catch up to Mel. :dopey:

The actual racing was all good fun though. In GT class anyway. Everyone seems to be right on par with each other. 👍

 The main thing about that, was just that I heard "crunch" and looked behind and saw three or four cars strewn across the track. So, I was typing "Caution" when you passed me. I knew that you were involved, and that you guys had to, technically, go to the back of the field for being involved... But, I left it to you guys to settle. Then, after that, I tried to wait for the GT cars, but I saw the DP cars slowing down and thought "I need to catch and pass them, in one lap? I'd better hurry!"

I'm going to test the Camaro, for the sake of curiosity. I'll see what pace and tire wear it has. After I get home of course.

EDIT - It has big tire wear, but no issue. Runs 48s easily with half tire wear and max downforce at Daytona. Stable in the corners. I'm really considering a switch, because the Camaro fits my driving style well.

I havent tested the Camaro yet. Only version I drove of that car was the RM version. And it handles like its on rails. Obviously the street version will not be the same. But hopefully its a good signnfor those that want to test it.

I really want to switch to it, but I don't know. It fits my driving style and tire wear is no big issue for me.

Well the spots are open now if you wanted to switch, so I guess it wouldn't be a problem.

FH, how was you finding the car? Sorry bro... I couldn't connect to the lobby without it booting me off after a few minutes.

I am in my lounge now for some testing. Anyone can join.

You can switch if you want!

I'll switch if I can make up my mind. I just feel really bad for leaving Audi and tbwhhs behind so suddenly. I think I'll make my final decision after next week. I'm rooting for another preseason, and if I finish in the top 2 with the Camaro I'll use it, and if not I'll stick with Audi.

Well, its up to you.

With you staying at Audi, the Manufacturer's title will be fought equally between Audi, Dodge and Mazda. From the look of things, Dodge have an edge in the Manufacturer's title, so long as I don't have any more of my ****wank connection.

A convincing win and a second at the last two preseason races; it'll be good to see how Dodge do when we're BOTH there.

In Round 2 of the pre-season phase, Mazda and Dodge were at it again, only this time it was FlyinHawaiian77 who stepped up to the challenge. Tez suffered technical problems that stopped him from qualifying, and could not get the car fix for the start of the race; ruling him out completely. Unfortunately for the Dodge team, under the SunsetShift Racing banner, Flyin couldn't find the same success of Tez last weekend, but managed a strong second place finish. With both teams winning at their home turf, and discussions as to whether a THIRD pre-season race will be held, it looks as though the teams are going to be battling for points all season long once it officially begins. Driver Interviews will follow in a few days time....

Out of wondering, how many people would be in favour of another preseason race to smooth out remaining issues (including connection related possibly)? Also, how about a vote for which course should we run (assuming we do run another preseason race)?

In favour:
1) anirishnirvana
2)

Opposed:
1)

Course votes:
SSR5 - anirishnirvana

I don't understand this:

"...The Mercedes has little bit bigger blind spot then the rest of the cars in my opinion..."

I don't either :)

And I'm for the extra race: at NURBURGRING gp/f

I use the hood view (roof view depending on the car) for when I race. The camera on the Sauber is positioned way in the front almost making like it's first person and I can't really see when cars are next to me. I'm just not use to it yet. It's a bad excuse really.

Actually since we can do dlc tracks... I'm for either motegi and spa.

And I'll change my vote to whatever, I really dont care...

If I have further problems like yesterday's pre-season (4 people being non-existent to me) then I will drop out as I don't want to create problems. :)

Ahh, you won't cause problems. We just need everyone in the room in time (and it opening on time *cough* Mel *cough*) but this week we'll give it another go!

Storm's had these problems before. I think they can be resolved. Hopefully something in here or here will unlock the key.

WE NEED THE STARFISH!

I did accidentally hit Seth without even knowing it. So if it does persist, I will drop out.

I'll see to it that I get something fixed just in case. This is definitely odd for me, I have an really good connection to anyone. Except New Zealenders, they are problematic.

What starfish? :odd:

anirishnirvana
I'll pass that onto any takers :sly:

I'm more lost than a puppy that has never seen its mother.... And THAT'S LOST!

damn starfish related issues going to prevent sleep now. that and the thought of a puppy looking lost at a polar bear it mistook for it's mother. :dopey:

Does it have something to do with my avatar? (If not, it coincidentally does)

yeah.... coincidence

Onto business, I hear a third pre-season is wanted? I vote no. Move onto the real season!

Alright so one for no more pre season!

The reason for the race is more for finalizing spec's. The 787b is going to be about 485HP, 1030KG. And the Mazda.... (rx8) needs a solidified spec. The drivers ran two totally different specs last weekend. We need a definite number.

Don't forget wanting to smooth out the cautions.
