The slower cars need to stay.

Some of our best and closest races, correction, all of our best races have been in small hot hatches or untuned road cars running comfort softs or sports tyres.

It takes real skill to be on the limit and fast in a bog standard Golf GTI, Peugeot 207, Honda S2000 or similar. Really great close racing, I love it!

Nothing should be removed, things just need balancing out a bit that is all.

Each continent should have an even amount of their cars in the game and there should be an equal amount of race and everyday cars in the game.

Do you have any solution for this?

Mine would be that when the user purchases a new car, he'd select the model, then engine (where applicable) and finally trim and color. The final car name would change dynamically depending on his choices. In this way there would be just a single base "model", and special/specific trims wouldn't be treated each as separate cars.

This would also reduce the pool of available similar cars for the the Used Car Dealer. Of course, there, engines/trims/colors would be randomized for each unique car model, where possible.

I second that. 👍

However I think the moaning is mostly due to the fact that PD markets the game as having 1000+ cars, if they put the absolute number of unique model/generation (Say Skyline GT-R R34(8 variations), Ferrari 430(SP1 and regular - 2 variations) in the game, this would give it 750+ cars ( not sure if that's accurate ) and 1000+ variations.

The other source of moaning are the so called slow cars, and the solution to that is even more simple, don't use them.

It has nothing to do with the amount of "slow" cars. There are too many Skylines, MX-5, Civics, etc. that are cluttering up the game. I love Ferrari's but if there were 30 F430's in the game and they were all very similar I would have a problem with that too.

Why? What does it cost you?

Anyway I agree with this thread. Normal everyday cars are the cornerstone of GT. Screw the supercars and race cars. Everyone of us who have been playing GT since day 1 can tell you of our excitement when we saw a little old civic tearing up a track in GT screenshots.

Honda Insight, Daihatsu Cuore, Daihatsu Midget, Daihatsu Move, Nissan Cube, all cars can be very awesome when tuned.

How they're cluttering up the game?
Do you think the game runs slower with them?
Or that they reduce disk space for other features or content?
PD only include them to increase the car list. And yes they do clutter up the game (used car dealership for example). I can be looking for a certain car in the UCD but game day after day it's just MX-5 and Skylines in different colors. I'd like GT6 to have less cars, more variety, and no copy&paste jobs.

Also to the people who say 'what does it cost you/how is it cluttering' what it costs us is a full roster of premium cars. By that I mean it's very, very unlikely we'll ever see 1000 premium cars going by how long it took them for 200 odd. So for as long as there are hundreds of these models in the game we're going to see a s/p split which is only a bad thing, no matter how much an optimist or 'standard car defender' you are.

I for one would much rather they have 400 - 600 models, all premium with some of the dupes and cars nobody uses thrown away and i'm sure many agree.

I spent most of my playing time after slow cars. Everyday cars are the spirit of GT since day one, as its Japan production core (slightly less than half of the cars, both for standard and premium models). I don't care about the number of Skylines. It's obvious that the game has less 'first ladies' than competitors. Also it still has about 500 non-Japan cars, which is far beyond competitors, even FM4.
Finally I'll not be happy if the adding of 50 Gumpert, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche costs the removing of 50 level 0/1 cars from the game.

I'm not sure why that whole "too many skylines, nissans, etc" issue even arose. All those cars are standards and had nothing to do with the premium model building, but for some reason people complain as if they weren't just free extra cars.

Now the correct thing to be "tweeting" this dude is for future premiums, to add a balance... and not waste too much time on multiples variations of cars(IE also cars being upgraded from standard)(which PD are probably already planning out and projecting).

I read in the Kaz tweets thread that some people think they are the voice of the whole GT fans by saying things like this

"Nobody wants all that Nissan, Honda, and Japanese car cap."

I'm sorry but who gives that one person the voice of all GT fans? I know a lot of people enjoy those Nissan, Honda, and Japanese cars. If Gran Turismo did'nt have any slower cars I wouldnt be interested in buying the game any more. I do enjoy the slower cars as much as I enjoy the faster cars. The fun part of Gran Turismo for me is making a slower car faster by adding better engine parts etc to the car.

The problem aren`t slow cars... All people rage over the stupid gtr/miata/rx7/350z clones in this game.

And don`t mind if you like slow cars. But I think the majority of GT5 players would take a Lamborghini Diablo, a premium Zonda F or a Porsche 917 above all that "crap" which is avaible at the online dealership right now.

I think I just explained to you why standard clones have nothing to do with premium models.

You didn`t explained anything to me.

And I don`t care about the standard/premium thing.

What really turns me off from this game is to look at the UCD and see 5-6 types of the same car taking away slots, so getting a car I desire for gets harder. Im still waiting for the GT-One to pop up in my UCD, have been playing since the release and checked the UCD after every race/championship.

It even gets more disturbing is the fact that because of the high number of variations from a certain car (R34 GT-R) they appear way more often then other cars.

And it really hurts me to see that from 30 possible cars, atleast 2-5 are old japanese cars, which literally no one races.

Thats your opinion. Who gave you the voice of the majority of the people who own GT5?

Learn reading. I say "I think".

And neither do you represent the whole voice of the majority nor this thread nor GTP.

Let's just throw out some of the faster cars, and keep tuning to a minimum.

PD, please don't listen to this guy.

"you" as in anyone reading the thread, my post was right above yours on the 2nd page.

But I hightlight in bold what I'm referring to.

But as for the UCD I do agree, they should probably have a categorized balance in the way it refreshes.

Where are you getting the fact that I am speaking for everybody. No place did I say We , everybody or the majority of GT players. Your just sour that I pointed out that you tried to speak for the majority of GT players. Also starting a sentence or paragraph with And is not proper grammar.

Lets not. I dont think there is enough tuning in Gran Turismo and I dont want to see the fast cars go either.

For me it's not so much that they are there, it's the fact that the number of them outmatch almost everything else from the rest of the game. If we had more amercan and European cars, it would even it out and make the game more enjoyable.

True! 👍

Now if you're referring that they're are too many Japanese premium models, then that can be argued.

200bhp Toyota Yaris (Premium) ftw! Its always funny how drifters in overpowered FR cars suddenly start racing when I overtake them often ramming me because of the embarrassment. :D

People keep forgetting this is a Japanese game ..
Things that dont make sense to us probably are must haves to japanese .. like those miatas and skylines

.. = just spent 2 hours driving a Isuzu Bellett 1600 GT-R on Nurb and a Nissan BlueBird Rallycar510 on the W trail
Both cars have 100+ bhp
so yea .. you ca guess how I feel about slow cars

Better than taking a Kart on the 'Ring.

I kinda agree with you but I don't want PD to model cars like Mitsubishi I-Miev and leave out cars like Audi R8 24h Nurburgring '09...

I just want equal treatment for all the cars and have 3/4 good, super cars and 1/4 normal everyday around 150BHP cars, cuz I will never own 345 supercars in real life (hopefully i will tho :sly: )

On the other hand cars like X2010 are just too over the top... still the vettel challenge was a laugh...

What a coincidence! I was driving in the same lobby as you today. I drove my Fiat 500 (tuned to 264 BHP) at Cote d'Azur. :D I agree, it's really funny to see how people react. :)

I really love the slower cars in this game. In fact, the best races I have online are shuffle races. Racing isn't about how fast your car is, it's about how fast you can drive it. 👍

Well, im not english and I didn`t try to speak for anyone. I just said that I think that the majority of player likes exotics more then a 240 GLT or a japanese ecobox. I can be wrong, so what? But maybe Im right. Well, I mainly see people using (aslong as they don`t use race cars) sport cars like a NSX, GT-R, M3 or exotics (Ferrari, Bugatti, etc). So I can only judge from my personal expierences.

Sorry, Im not english. I though you meant me with "you". So I thought you accused me of being dumb and not able to read.
My hatred for everyday cars in this game grows with each minute of gameplay passing and still leaving me searching for my GT-One, while I see the same ecobox appearing for the 100th time.

There should be a good balance between the slower cars and the faster ones in-game.

ie: Why do we have THREE classic VW's, TWO Cappuccino's and TWO Swift's when there are only FOUR Premium LMP/Group C's in-game?

I personally enjoy driving both fast cars and slower ones. I love taking my 908 out on Nurburgring, then immediately taking my stock Cappuccino around Autumn Ring :D
