The small touches in this game are remarkable.

I was running on a dirt track in the course maker, not toscana, and there were a few planes flying by leaving contrails. Thought it was pretty neat. 👍

Really? The more I play, the more I hate this game. The AI is terrible. They just run into me no matter what. Doing this Top Gear Track Challenge is annoying. They don't care to bump me on the side and make me crash. Not at all. Car is already awful in handling and they just don't care. You bump them, it's over. They bump you, it's over. What a load of crap. No one moves and stays over. They are on rails. Sigh. Oh ****, fast guy passing me, imma turn into him cause in real life I damage my car on purpose!!!

On one run, I was swift and pass up three in a small area. I get DQ'd, and I wasn't out of bounds or anything. This isn't "fun". They don't drive like real people.

I tried that event for about 20 seconds and moved on. Reminded me of one of the last races on prologue.

The button to check the likely performance of your opponents cars if good. It annoyed me in GT4 that you had no idea of the level of power the AI cars had so that you could match a similar car if you wanted.

The handbrake, stop on a hill, hold the footbrake, press handbrake then let off the footbrake, handbrakes stays on and holds the car.

I also like that the names of corners and track sections show up, the details in the distance, and I'm still impressed by the first transition to a rainy night.

Of course, some of the little things irk me a bit, like the tub-full-of-water-thump in bumping other cars and the AI, especially combined with heavy penalization in the special events (ok, not so little) . Jeff Gordon's animated version scares me a bit, at least when he's talking.

I like the game and am looking forward to discovering more, but I would give 500 of the cars back in return for better AI.

One little thing that one might overlook, if you are using the G25 the game automatically switches between gated shifting and paddle shifting on the fly. Clutch is activated by a simple press of the clutch pedal, very nifty. Ahh I'm going to continue searching through arcade mode before actually playing GT Mode, no need for me to rush into this.

Which car the Cappuccino or the MX5? The cappuccino looks neat and it's under powered but it's FR, and we know how sweet it is to go sideways.

alot more then those 2 cars though to start... i started with civic type-r...

Received the game yesterday, it´s awesome so far. There is indeed alot of small details that are mindblowing. Just a small thing as the light showing you´ve activated the high beams...

Although I did notice something. If you´re using the bumper cam (I think it´s called that, the camera where you are "inside" the car? Not the cockpit-view, the other one) and you slam on the brakes / use the handbrake / drive out on the grass there is no smoke/dust showing in the rear-view mirror. However if you press L1 (Or whichever is your Look back-button) it´s there. I don´t think it shows up in the rear-view mirror in the cockpit-view either, but I might be wrong there.

How loose and tired some of the cars 'feel' when you pick them up with high mileage from the used dealer. :)

i was just flicking through the photo galleries, and the Cobra headlights have the manufacturer imprinted on them for all to see!

i also like the layout of the GT mode menu and access to buttons. like garage is one click to the left.

very well thought out. i'm sure i'll find more the further i go

In photo mode, I managed to get to such an angle where I could zoom in on the dash, which I did.... noticed the numbers on the spedometer weren't a texture, but actually modeled

I've just come from the MR Sports Cup (expert series,) where I was in a Ferarri Italia. I looked behind and could see the sun in the glass between me and the engine. I didn't think it had been modeled as you can't see it normally.

Another thing was, but this may have been my imagination, as the race was immensely loud, as a Zonda passed, I swear I heard him blast his horn!

For me it's the cockpit camera work/shake when driving over the little bumps at high speeds, and the aggressive camera work when taking a turn in SSR7-wet.

Yes when you are cruising down the straight at La Sarthe the vibrations are excellent and really immerse you. I bought a old vette and love how you can raise and lower the lights witha touch of a button.

A buddy and I were playing on Route 7 and stopped in the last tunnel to hear some motor sounds.
He was in the Maza 787, and that car sounds rediculous, it is so loud and awesome.

I'm sure I've heard the same thing... we can't both be going mad.

After the rain had stopped and the wipers were
off I had a collision and some of the rain on the windscreen
sprayed across the windscreen :-)

When you go off the track and over a grassy area, it's not just dirt getting thrown in the air, but little blades of grass as well.

For me I noticed that in the rally Videos, you had near to no visibility when you were 10 meters (30ft) from someone's tail because of the dust and snow..... just like real WRC

What WRC do you watch? Their a good mile behind each other while running the stages lol But great effects none the less. You might say thats one of the reasons why they DONT run close to each other :P

for me all the game is remarkable :D even the saw-shadows

Yeah, it's hard not to be impressed when your A-pillar casts shadows across your dash and the arms of your driver. It's the first time I've seen a cockpit view that didn't just seem like a screen overlay or a HUD.

when on the next lap of a race, you notice the skid marks from the tank slapper you had the last lap.

There are way more flags from my rather small country than I'd expect. I suspect that the trackside audience are bringing flags of the nationality registered in your profile to the races :D

I like pausing the replays and going into photomode when one wheel has just skimmed the grass and the grass blades are all kicked up. Looks great when in photo mode.. I love the walk around photomode, so much more appealing to me than locations.

to many small things to count (when playing on SD then brought it to a friends house who has HD) totally mind blowing

He is currently borrowing my GT5 and PS3 (my idea since he has like 1GB left on his HDD)
so he can demo it and in the first 3 min's he said "i'm buying this"

and he lost sunday cup with a 808HP GT-R SpecV...

It was probably a glitch but has anyone seen lightning during a storm? My first race on la Sarthe with Weather/Time change started in daytime in heavy rain, about a 100 yards into the long straight the sky lit up for about a second and a half. I first thought it was maybe a texture not being loaded but the clouds were still there, they just flashed three shades brighter than normal. Anybody else seen this?
