The small touches in this game are remarkable.

Yeah, I think I've seen lightning on la sarthe aswell. Only once or twice, I thought it was fireworks at first but they don't seem to light up anywhere near as bright. Here's to hoping it's a feature and not an YLOD on the way! :nervous:

Not really a small feature but driving the nordschleife at night in the rain is the greatest challenge so far.

There are way more flags from my rather small country than I'd expect. I suspect that the trackside audience are bringing flags of the nationality registered in your profile to the races :D

Actually, I see a lot of flags from your rather small country, too. Maybe they figured it's just not a proper race environment without a lot of Nordic countries' flags. I haven't run an actual NASCAR race, so I don't know if there will be a lot of flags from my country. Come to think of it, I don't know if there are full NASCAR races in the game.

In other small things, I bought a Jaguar E-Type and decided to practice with it on the Eiger track. First time in the car, first time on the track, and the first corner didn't go so well. On the replay I noticed that the fence was barbed wire.

Edit - So, is anyone going to add some graffiti to the Nordschleife and see how long it takes us to get an update with it added?

Didn't play much when I got the game (went to California to see family the same day GT5 came out), but I did a few races and couple things suprised me:

-The horns: addictive and a sense of you ACTUALLY driving and controlling what happens to/with the car

-The damage: sure it's not much, but at times, it looks better than Forza's damage (GT5 has deformation and some scratches vs. just scratches and sometimes having parts fall off).

-The visiuals: amazingly done-car refections, the background, the track itself (La Sarth FTW)

-The feeling that even the cruddy cars are actually worth something: raced my F1 stealth for my first a-spec race, my #20 Gamestop NASCAR, and then my Mazda Miata (forgot which one-got it in red)...and it actually suprised me that it was actually a fun car to drive (used to how forza deals with the cruddy cars vs. the super/sports cars).

Sadly, haven't played the game to fully experience it yet. It's fun though! Especially the course maker.

Thanks PD for the addictive game!

WOW!

Among others things that people have already mentioned throughout this threads and things that i will point out after my own personal review of the game itself (as soon as i have played long enough and often enough), Kaz / PD have really push the envelop a tad further! I cant wait to see what GT6 will be and how FM4/Turn10 will do in there next installment, i am ready to by the next XBOX if FM4 try to match PD's quality!

It's all benefit for us gamers as the developers go for realism!

Racing at La Sarth the rain stopped and the sun came out. Coming around Arnage towards the Porsche Curves the amber glow of the setting sun on the wet road road is breathtaking.

can someone please start a new thread about Polyphony digital releasing an update so we can have an option to disable certain feeds on the hud. This would be very help full towards getting this subject some recognition and discussion. Thank you

Corner names of tracks as you do the special events... brilliant.

PD want you to learn about the track, not just drive it.

The amount of bumps and rises on the Mulsanne straight at La Sarthe. I took my Veyron out after upgrading it and watched the replay. Mighty impressive.

Coming round the left hander onto the start / finish straight on SS5 in the dark and seeing the floodlights in the background. It looks amazing seeing the glare of the lights and even being slightly dazzled by the effect. Lovely. Oh yeah and the flickering the (xenon??) lights in the tunnel, seem so authentic to. Bootiful.

I "liked" when you first go to the nascar thing with Jeff Gordon and his lips don't move, only his mouth opens and closes to the words. Also I like that the wings on cars like the LFA, Veyron, and SLR McLaren pop up.

When going below 1500 RPM in a Mach 1, Charger, Superbird etc. the amazing gasoline-slurping idling sound through your speakers. I happen to hear those engine sounds very regularly, and they did an amazing job in this game. They are really really close to reality!

Don't know if any of you guys noticed this but I love to watch the replays of all my races...anyway I'm watching and I notice the grass at certain tracks kinda blows back as all the cars go flying past...I couldn't help but smile, It's small touches like this that really make the game alive for me 👍

I'm gonna be watching even closer now to see if I can spot more little visual treats like the one above.

I know it's daft but I really like looking through my friends' logs. Seeing what kind of car they're using for events and how quick they are progressing. Cool touch IMO

The log actually works for you then? I'd love to see what my friends are up to but every time I go to the log it says "no data".

The Toyota FT-86 Concept displays a little circuit map on the dashboard.

And it changes according to which circuit you are driving on.

I thought I had most of them figured out by now, but they're still coming. My favourite small touch of the moment:

As most of you know, swerving left and right when in cockpit view in the rain causes the water droplets to move with the force. I was messing around on the High Speed Ring, when I decided to take a look out of the back window of my car, obviously being the back there were less raindrops there and they weren't moving too much due to lack of wind... then I hit a rumble strip and all the little droplets of water shake off with the vibration. Colour me amazed. Not many people are even going to spend the time looking out of the rear window to notice a detail like that, but it's happening.

Any more you guys want to add? :)
damn you are right, that is cool
