Well, Spa with heavy damage in the Evora proved a real challenge. Tomorrow we will practice in the wet, so it will be even more testing. Great to see Turbo Dave join us tonight, as well as Dowlin, GC Gary, Will, and for the first time Capt Gary on the mic. Times from tonight will be viewed before tomorrows practice.

Here's last nights times on a dry track. Dowlin, Socal and Turbonator added times to the table, and GC Gary improved his time by over a second 👍. All new times are in blue text, and Turbo Dave,s name is in pink :sly: as a guest racer. More track action tonight, as we try Spa in the wet, with full damage.:scared:

Room will be open from 8.00pm as usual.

Looks like I'll be joining you for some wet weather fun! Not raced much in the wet but when i have I've spent most of it off the the track! Should be fun though.

Not bad for a stock suspension then, I can honestly say that I'm pretty happy with that time.
It was a fun night thanks guys, won't make tonight though.

We had 9 racers come out in the rain tonight. Full damage was on, and the track was slippery. We ran 4 races trying out different weather settings to try and get an idea of the times, and also to give me an idea on how to start this race. As we have never run a Sunday Cup event with theses setting's, it was an interesting evening. I will post the times from tonight's wet weather/heavy damage races tomorrow. Sorry I had to leave early, Mrs 3210 wasn't feeling too chipper during the last race, and lost her dinner :yuck:

Great pic Dan 👍 Did you sew it on, or use an iron?

After Sunday I promised to put the results from the wet weather practice on the thread, but the missus was kind enough to share her germs with me, and I spent most of last night and today very ill.:yuck::sick::yuck:

GC Gary was kind enough to go through the replays for me and get everyones times.

The times did also change quite dramatically on the inters as we approached the cross over point for wanting full wets.

Also there are some quite different times posted for the race we did on full wets. This is due to drivers picking up damage in the first lap, and consequently their lap times were heavily compromised.

As this is the first time a Sunday Cup race has used both weather and full damage, extreme caution must be used at all times, especially the very early laps. As the race progresses it will be important to maintain care and consideration at all times. If you are in a position where you are going to be lapped, give the lapping car plenty of space at the earliest safe passing point.

To try and minimize the risk of drivers suffering from damage at the beginning, we will be using a rolling start.

This is how it will work.

When the grid clock counts down to 1, and the race starts, drivers must stay in grid order, and form a single file while maintaining 40 mph/64 kph. Once you have reached the end of the pit straight and turned into T1 (La Source), its game on. This should minimize any T1 fatalities, and give us some space for our first run through Eau Rouge.

This Friday will be our final practice for this event, and we will use this to perfect this rolling start. We will run 5 lap races in the dry, a bit wet, and very wet conditions.

Could be worth having a look here https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=284141

Explains how to glitch a rolling start on any track 👍

Cheers Geordie. 👍👍 Interesting video. Not sure a proper rolling start would help us on Sunday, as we want to try and get through T1 without anyone picking up major damage in the first lap at Spa. Quite clever how they manage to get weather at every track aswell.

About our race. We could just line up at the support race grid?

We would then be going into Eau Rouge as T 1, and that could cause equally as many casualties, if its wet especially. By using the rolling start from La Source we hopefully should get through the first tricky parts of the track without loosing too many cars to damage.

Ade I'll be traveling out of town this weekend and wont be able to make the race. If there is someone else that would like to participate please give my spot to them. Sorry for the late notice.

There is is banner across the track on the straight leading up to eau-rouge, why not use this as start point. When the leader accelerates after it, its game on. This is what i've seen on other "flying start" races i've done on spa.

Good suggestion. We will try it out at practice on Friday.👍
