Well I have tried 4 times just now (2.26pm) and still cant create a lobby. I am either getting "failed to create room" or error (268). Even after clicking on the coffee cup, it either takes forever to get to the join room window, or I get the failed to create room message. I think it was the right choice last night, just hope this is fixed soon.

Yeah it's really annoying. Tried it at 11am and now. They should have fixed it by now. Once again I'm very disappointed in PD's team.

I'd probably be thinking it's more of an issue on sony's end to be honest. Downtime happens. I wouldn't worry about it.

Things seem a little better tonight in the private lobby world. I have managed to create and enter my own room 5 times now with no issue's at all, and can also see that some PSN friends are in their lobby's also. Hopefully PD have this fixed.👍👍

Going to have a practice till about 9/9.30ish now that the servers seem to be fixed. Feel free to join.

I *may* make it, but I've got a couple of jobs to do first....one of which requires me finding a 'paint' that suits this new car..... :sly:

Had my hour or so of practice. Room didnt boot me so I think that the online server issues must have been sorted. I only ran the soft tyre tonight, and managed to considerably trim some time off my best. 1:14.661 was my best, and consistent low 15's throughout. Well pleased with that, as it over a second off my previous best.👍👍

Ah damn i misread your post and thought you said you were opening the room at 9 or so :/ ah well i might have a spin of my own anyway 👍

Now we know what view ADE uses :D 👍

I tend to use the outside view :dopey:

Bumper cam is probably the best for hitting the apex. The outside edge of the dials are where the front wheels are, and if you can get used to it, it really will get your lap times down, especially if you are using a wheel.

I agree, If only bumper cam had mirrors. I am used to outside view because I can see other cars around me. May be thats why i am slow I should be focusing on the track.

Use the look left and right buttons, and the track map and you will soon forget about mirrors.👍

I use cockpit cam and hood cam only if something is in the way. For looking at other cars close to me I use everything at my disposal. Mirrors, left, right, down button and map.

Today again I couldn't enter my own lobby. :(

GTPlanet news page...

Online Service Interruption

We are currently experiencing an interruption of the Gran Turismo 5 online service.
We apologise for the inconvenience and ask for your patience while we work to restore the service.

Though many suspect the culprit to be most recent game update, the reason appears to be more physical in nature – although Kazunori Yamauchi has Tweeted that he’s not entirely sure what the problem is – and Polyphony Digital are working on the repairs.

The issue seems to affect certain users more than others with no direct link between the effect and the users’ location. Unfortunately this gives gamers little else to do than await good news – which we’ll bring you as soon as we get it.

Update: The in-game news feed was updated around 20.00GMT on October 9th with the following:

Online Service Restored

The interruption experienced in the online service of Gran Turismo 5 has been resolved, and the service is now back online.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Although no confirmation has been given as to what caused the problem in the first place, the message indicates it was a hardware fault rather than a software update bug.

Update: The above message has been removed again from the in-game news feed and website around 18.00 GMT on October 10th and users once again report online lobby errors…

FLAPS:grumpy::mad::(:banghead:

Update on the online issues. Had a room open for an hour and a half. Got straight in with no errors. Didnt get Dcd. Lets hope that the servers are fixed. I ran several laps, but couldnt beat my best time. The fastest tonight was a 1:14.798. Also ran a few practice laps for the CORE GT race tomorrow, which is also at DFR.

Glad to see they are sorting it, we had a few little problems wednesday night trying to get into the 3D3 room but all got in and no DC's.

I dont think I will be able to make it this sunday:grumpy:, I would of been able to last week but it was the right decision to cancel it 👍.

Spent some time on the med tyre earlier.. Had no server issues so looks like its fixed :scared:

We on for this Sunday then? 👍

We are go for tomorrow. After last nights Core GT races at the same track, I am really looking forward to this penultimate race of The Sunday Cup. One final practice session will take place tonight at 8.00pm.

Looking forward to tonights practice.👍 Love this combo after 2 20 lap races in Core GT last night. 36 laps is gonna be a real test. Room open in 20 minutes.

Good fun in the practice races.. I had made some changes to my ride height and didn't have a good feel in race 2 and 3. :dopey: Was better but still not great in the last race.. Also was struggling with front end grip when in the draft. Could be down to the amount of cider I've drank today :sly:

I also found the front end grip a bit troublesome when close behind other cars. Great practice though, thanks all for coming. Race 7 tomorrow will be awesome. Practice results will be posted tomorrow morning, as now I have my sons 16th birthday celebrations. Yes, drunk teenagers, but as always Sunday Cup practice comes first.👍👍

Dan, cider, I also have had too many.

Best wishes!

I think your not drinking fast enough. There is a joke here but I can't do that to the best organizer. ;)
