Hi, I wont joining you guys tonight. Im way too tired after lots of miles in the tracks (cross country tracks it is :) )

Well what a first practice that was. The racing was ultra close. Over the course of the evening we saw 11 racers join to have the first try out of Grand Valley. We learnt a lot. But first, a big welcome to GC255, who came along tonight and showed some good pace and race craft. The one big thing we did learn tonight is that trying to overtake on the final turn before the start finish straight, does not work. We all know the one, slight right hander that can be taken flat out. Come race day, we must be patient here, or it will result in accidents. I dont think that there was 1 clean pass made here tonight, and the racing was really close. Thanks to everyone who attended tonights practice, the numbers tell me you all can't wait for this to begin.👍

I really enjoyed that practice tonight guys! The racing is super-close at this circuit. Look at the lap times, the mid-pack is really tight, and that was reflected in the racing tonight. Oh and I managed a win yaaaayy! Yes I know it's only practice but it made me feel good hehe :)

I have to echo Ade's sentiments re. passing at the last corner. I had 3 drivers do this to me and 2 out of 3 times resulted in me into the wall /onto the grass and spinning, and the other I lost a whole chunk of time from going off onto the grass. It makes sense for both parties to be prudent and wait until the straight to make your pass, as you are going to get a great tow onto the straight in any case and should get past without a problem if you are that close.

My braking power seemed to be poor compared to those following me, reckon I may need to tweak my brake balance as others seem to take chunks out of me braking into some bends....

Anyhoo, cracking racing as always with you fellas, look forward to the next time :)
 
Def a case of 2 square pegs in one round hole that one.

I was a culprit for jammy, and me and Third Reign tried to go through their together aswell with similar result.

Proceed with caution. As ADE usually points out long race.

PlayStationEU has just tweeted new GT5 DLC is on the way! ...but the link in their tweet takes you to the wrong place, and now the tweet is 'dead' (can't retweet it) so I'm thinking they have accidently announced it eary :lol:

I live and go to willom springs often. it is not a world class track and i would be supriced if polyphony would spend time developing this track.

there have to be some better tracks like argentina or bathhurst to develope!!
 
Great pics Omnius, I really enjoyed last nights practice. Its going to be even busier come race day, so extra caution must be exercised at that last turn. Cobrius cannot make the race, as he's going skiing, but in his place reserve driver Sholesy will be driving in this season opener. Should be a cracker with what looks to be a full grid of 16. If anyone else cant make this race, please let me know well in advance so that I can allocate grid positions to the remaining reserves.

I have to agree, just watched an on board POV lap of Willow Springs on YouTube and it looks very 'brown' and featureless :indiff:

Out of many other US tracks (if that was PD's plan because of the C7) I'm sure there's better ones!?

thanks for asking. i have some many different Evora's i have to make sure i practice witht he corrrect one. changing the color to flat brown as to not piss anyone off. send you a new pic soon!.

whats going on over there with the flag issue? not really clear to me.
