Ran a few short races with Goodwolf Tonight. I didnt break any records as its my birthday and I have had quite a lot of wine/beer/curry/beer and wine. But it was great to get on track with GW. Tomorrow will be the 2x10 lap races again. Room will be open as usual at 8.00pm, with the races starting at 8.30pm.

Please remember that UK time changes this Saturday night, so on Sunday the room will open at 7.30pm BST, not GMT.

Hi, realised that because the race this Sunday is on the bank holiday weekend, it might make it difficult for me to attend as my friends and I usually all go out for some beers on the Sunday.....

I might be able to join you for some practice tonight though, but I have not yet driven this track!
 
Great couple of races tonight. Race 1 on the soft tyre saw a race long battle between Capt.D and myself. Awesome all the way through the entire race. New times are shown in red text below, and big thanks go to Gary GC255 for helping me with the times tonight. One more practice tomorrow before Sundays race.

Hey guys, it's been a while. I rarely had the chance to watch the thread over the last few weeks because I had no credit on my phone but I have been home for the last few days so I've been able to catch up, it's been fun looking at all the photos and reading all the time updates too.

But hopefully I will be back for the race this weekend, we had broadband installed at my new place on Thursday but something went wrong so they are sending a technician today so if all goes to plan, I will be back for tomorrows race 👍

So I hope I will see some of you guys tonight for practice and for the race tomorrow and if not, then next race for definite.

Enjoyed the practice last night, thanks guys. Considering the first lap of the 10 lap race was my first full lap out in this car on this track, I wasn't too disheartened with my pace. It looks like GC and I are fairly similar on pace (with GC having a few tenths edge but possibly I was a little more consistent through the last two races last night) and potentially we could have a close battle, but it depends on whether I can make it, and at the moment it looks like I won't :(

Nice wheel BTW Ade! :)
 
Happy Easter everyone. Great practice tonight, and great to get on track with Socal, and a warm return to Dowlin. So some new times to be posted after tonight. GC255 found some more time on the soft tyre, and Dowlins first times at Daytona look good also. Some great Prodigy Quotes tonight guys. Sorry I didnt make practice last night, read your message later on.

I wont know till later on if I can make the race tonight and I've only ran 3 laps on the mediums up to now :scared:.
 
Race day is here again. 32 laps of Daytona road course await us this evening. Dont forget that the clocks went forward, so we are now in BST. See you tonight gents.👍👍👍

Was hoping to get some laps in yesterday, but I pulled my back in the morning, Was in quite a bit of pain so decided not to.. Ive got company this aft, so will have to run a few laps later this evening to get my eye in :D

Gutted I can't make this tonight but only got back this afternoon after an amazing 2 weeks in cambodia and thailand. Will hopefully be back for next race though! :)

Frustrating - I had a good first few laps but whilst fighting with goodwolf I inadvertently went into the pits on the start finish straight! D'oh and double d'oh! I wouldn't normally retire but on this occasion I did as I had to go out after the race to meet friends, so elected to leave early as there was no recovery from there. Hope the remainder of the race was enjoyable.

I'd be interested in the replay file if anyone could make it available after the race. Cheers, Kev.

Well... That was exciting, :lol:

Had a fun race with Dan in the first stint until I oversteered into the pit wall, was behind by like 7 seconds, then closed the gap to around 4, somehow ended up in front when we both pitted on lap 12, then I 🤬-UP the pit exit, (:lol: :lol: :lol:) then chased Dan down again in second stint, we both entered pits again on lap 20, but Dan went in too fast and was screwed over by PD. Then I had to chase down Hasselmoff, who I assume was on mediums while I was on softs. That was pretty intense. Passed him with a couple laps to go and then skidded at turn 1, had to pass him again. :lol:

Can't say that was a boring race, but it's a shame Dan and I couldn't race each other in the final stint while chasing Hasselmoff. Oh well.

Which saw me have to stop again after Bob lost control of my car on the entry to the pits.. It then decided to return me to the track without fitting new rubber :dunce:

I'm happy enough to still be on the podium :D Again grats to Rob for his 1st Sunday Cup win and to Moff for making the 1 stop work so well 👍

Jammy... Next time mate don't write walls of text when we are racing.. Do you think we are gonna stop the car and read it? :lol:
 
The halfway point has been reached, and a change in the podium this week. Congratulations to Grand_Prix and Hasslemoff for 1st and 2nd place. Dan's reign at the top came to an end tonight, but he still gets a share of the champagne and completes the podium. Well done gents. All post race tables will be updated and put on the thread tomorrow. Dont forget to send your cars to the garage for the next set of upgrades. See you all at Fuji.👍👍👍

Could have explained in this thread why you left, we would have understood I'm sure. 👍 I couldn't even read them because I was trying to catch up. Thankfully it didn't distract too much, :lol:

When I came out off the pits with the mediums I watched the clock countdown waiting for you to catch me :)

Had a good battle with Capt D for about 11 laps 👍 after having a spin on the first lap touching the grass, sorry to GC who hit me when I joined the track didnt see him thought everyone had passed.

Ok cool but I have seen others do this before in the core series and didn't think it would be a problem. Just ignore it and wait till the end, it's not meant for you to read whilst you are racing. ;) but sorry if it was an issue!

The point has been made, and I'm sure that it wont occur again. Now if you gents wouldnt mind editing your post's so as not to clutter the thread, I would appreciate it. 👍
 
Gentlemen, this is my story of the Daytona evening ...

After the final practice and not being on the pace, I decided to stick around Ade's lounge on my own and completely change my set up. That got me a 1.53.2xx on my first flying lap. :dunce: I was real pleased of course and excited about the upcoming race. The build up to quali wasn't ideal with some distractions in the house. I could not show my pace and ended up 6th. :indiff:
I knew Dan and Rob were 'special' (Mulder and Scully are still looking for you two), but I was ready to race with Gary for the championship standings and anyone else. The interference in the house was extreme at the race start, but a good and clean getaway got me up to 4th and right up Gary's exhaust. 👍 ...then someone changed the tv channel and left me with no picture. That's the reason of my wierd 'off' on the first lap. :yuck:

Deadlast I tried to recover and wanted to use my anger/disappiontment to get really focussed and back to the front. Did a 53.8 on the second lap and with my one stopper in mind, I was uptimistic for a podium finish.
Got back to the pack and had a great battle with Ade for 5th. Unfortunately the interference in the house got worst and real life caught up with me. I had no alternative but to quit the race. :guilty:
I am sorry for quitting, but I needed to be with my family.

Seeing how the race unfolded ... If only. :grumpy: (but if only's don't count)
We are all okay, but I'm still disappointed with how the evening went.
You gentlemen are all great racers and congratulations to Rob, Paul and Dan for the podium!
