The Things That Annoy You

I think that it is a very small inconvenience compared to the QoL it represents overall.

People who love to tune and set would be able to continue, others that just want to try cool tunes or race on equal foot with their buddies would be able too, without the current headache of manually sharing tunes.
I love doing one-make races using N2-spec AE86s, it's just so annoying having to go to shop 20 times and then individually tuning each car. :grumpy:

BTW, has anyone figured out a fix for the AI using <90% throttle on long straights? I did a half-length F1 race a few days ago with the regular AI, and noticed that the AI wasn't going full throttle. It's bad enough that the AI doesn't understand what the undercut is.

Navigating menus, having to back out and into menus, GT6 you could hit the option button and get to your garage or tuning menu from almost anywhere. You could purchase tuning parts from the tuning menu instead of backing out to the home menu. Similar the "Sell" button should also be in the garage.

Garage, in past games you could inspect the cars in your garage before you got into it them, the way the game is currently set up if you go through the trouble of setting up filters to narrow down the specific cars you want, once you want to look closer at a specific car it destroys the filter that you had set up, I'm somebody that first once to select a certain car, I want to inspect it by using the stick on the controller move around it, similar to whats in the livery editor, then select "Get In" if that's what car I want to use. The garage animation never pans around the car

When entering a race, selecting cars from your garage that meets the requirement, I want to filter only the cars that meet those regulations and not show cars that are flashing that my need some changes, there may be a way to do this, but I don't see where.
I don’t mind them showing me the flashing cars because sometimes it’s just tires that are causing that. But for the love of god can you just show us what tires are currently on our vehicles?

I agree with all the backing out of menus. In settings you can’t access power to weight ratio but can in tuning shop. I hope in the future, anything that affects a cars performance can be done in tuning shop only. Even car settings because sometimes you’re minority tweaking something and need to back out and look at power to weight ratio

Cars are given only one tag from these : #Race Car, #Road Car or #Tuned Car. When some could theoretically have two, and here I think about old race cars from the 50s or the 60s (both race & road cars tags). Many race cars were road legal back in the days, this false dichotomy has to go. This is unnecessarily and falsely restrictive.

Where are the races for these cars, anyway? Or may be this is an Esport player privilege only....

It is quite strange. Ostensibly, #racingcars from a certain era are comparative in performance terms to some contemporary #roadcars.

Not only may we never be able to race them together, but I assume they'll get completely outclassed by the majority of the other cars which share the same hashtag (Groups 1-4 for example). It's a contradiction of purpose.

It’s crazy we can see the animations of car being serviced in GT Auto, but we get no such animations in Tuning Shop. Show the car’s change in height when fitting the suspensions. Show the change in silencers when fitting. Show the torque curve before fitting engine parts that cannot be removed. All the dyno testing should be done in the Tuning Shop.

Good points. The problem is the game is cobbled together from previous releases and I have a strong sense one team works on one section of the game and maybe communication is poor between each team?

I kind of wish all parts that can be added to the car were on one place and you could access car setup from there and it included ALL info that is found on GT Auto and Tuning and Setup Page. I always sound like a broken record player repeated this stuff but I just can’t believe it is the way it is. It’s almost like they made the game but didn’t play it.

And make tune sharing a thing, almost every other racing game allows sharing tunes with a click of a button but nooooo, we have to take screenshots and send through PlayStation chat. We need that guy to make a video, the because that’s why guy. You know him, he does word pronunciations contradictions. He’s branched out to sports and other stuff. He needs to do GT7 tuning sharing. Hah-

“Other games can share tunes with two button presses and they can download and apply, it takes five seconds in other games… so how would we share tunes in GT7?”

“By saving a tune and sending to a friend?”

“Noooooo, why would you think that? You take screenshots of two setup pages as well as your transmission settings so three pages total and then send that to your friend via PlayStation chat but don’t forget to tell them if it’s wide bodied, what aero, tire and rim dimensions are applied, you’re such an idiot why would you think that’s how it’s done?!”

“Why is it done that why?”

“because, that’s why!”

  • The lack of proper filtering for custom lobbies (No "in progress/in lobby" filter, No ability to multi-select options which as GR3 & GR4)
  • No option to refill oil in custom lobbies
  • No option to "refill all " for things like Oil both in GT auto/Garage/or custom lobbies
  • The over the top menus in the game (for example in licenses, why does it take me multiple menu swaps to go from one license attempt, to the next license? It should be "ok I've done this test, press R1 or L1 to the next or previous test ", Instead of going back & forth in menus
  • Top many menu layers in the game full stop tbh

Good point about race in progress filter. At least show if a race is in progress. We get people obviously wanting to join but they pop in, we’re in race, they leave. We finish, we qualify and just start one up again and the same people pop in and leave. Despite our room not being full. Not going to wait around for it to fill up, and it would stop the hard lags when they do pop in sometimes.

Ok I just did my first race in the PP …so annoying you can’t skip the grid line up everytime you restart a race you have to go through every single car …very annoying indeed

The location of the opponent radar, having to sort it out with the other items in the lower menu, when I would rather have it somewhere at the top of screen, similar to most racing games, with most racing games it's almost invisible until a opponent gets close to your car, I think Ferrari 355 challenge had it at top 25 years ago. Having to either or, pick between the weather, fuel map, or opponent radar can get annoying sometimes. Other items on the HUD, they could place above the fuel gauge, text that reads remaining laps of fuel, allow like previous games the course map to be zoomed in. The common thing I come away from this game is the amount of navigating through menus in this game.

There are things not thought out very well in this game, example in the Power Pack, it gives you some 50 minutes of practice, take the car out find that you need to change some of your settings, return to garage only to find the car tuning menu grayed out, thus no test and tuning in practice, advanced to qualifying it lets you access the car tuning menu, makes no sense. Enter any race that has tire restrictions, in previous games the required tire would be automatically fitted to the car if you owned the tire, in this game you have to spend time opening the car and fitting the tire if that's was the problem, probably a majority of the flashing cars in the car selection wouldn't be flashing.

The "Optimal Lap" feature is broken since 1.66.

My fastest lap is faster than my ideal lap. Also, you have to wait the 3rd lap for it to be functional (instead of 2 before), and it doesn't update during the lap that follows a pit stop.

With this hotfix update, they disabled nice QOL features added by the Power Pack (like gaps displayed as laps when you are laps in front or behind a car) in the base game to make them exclusive to the DLC. But they also broke few things like this one or the end race screen gaps.

Probably annoyed with myself as I never observed or trialled it or didn’t notice if someone mentioned it.

Just found out I don’t need to change the oil in my K24 Civic TC grind mobile. All I did was see my horsepower do the usual drop from 565 bhp to 563 bhp. Since it is tuned with the Medium Turbo to 100%, I can’t just bumped the bhp up to compensate for the power loss. So, I just figured I’d slap on the High RPM turbo instead of going through the menus to change the oil. I switched back to the Medium Turbo just to compare the torque curve and saw my BHP was back up to 565. Insert Daffy Duck stare.

The developers need to fix the timing & animation of the pit crew, they take my tyres off, but I never see them when they rush to put tyres back on the car, the car miraculously gets new tyres out of thin air. WTF??? Also why does it take 5mins to do pit change, in the real world a pit take like 30secs max unless it is an endurance race. Also the refuelling guy animation is sometimes absent in the pitting animation, when most races need a fuel top-up!!!

It may be a little qualm, but I would prefer to have good attention to detail, then the lack of it.
