Interesting, London is currently on fire. Time to don my fireproof/bulletproof Pinkie Pie outift and sing gotta share, gotta care to inspire love and tolerance among the warring factions. At least it'll be more interesting than that Sony training session I just joined. Am aware that everyone here is likely to be PS3/Sony fans, but that session only made me hate Sony even more.

I don't care about the whole MS/Sony thing, what pisses me off is the whole fan-boy thing and that related stuff, the so called "exclusives" and the so called "loyal customer" really do overshadow the importance of more relevant/innovative/creative games, and it really closes the market for them (therefore cutting the founding for more creative games and bla, bla, bla... ).

Said from a Ace Combat fan-boy (the only thing, and I'm still nick-picking about it).

Yeh, they sent us a guy who knew nothign of TVs. At all. He opened up a Powerpoint, read each slide before basically reciting the slide to us, or more accurately, to the laptop.

Sorry but with PSN taking a slight hit, Qriocity not quite taking off as the iTunes buster Sony hoped, and the tsunami in Japan hammering their production hard, you'd think they'd put alot more efforts into selling their products to make up the deficit they must have taken lately.

I'm still gunna sell Panasonic, I was open to being sodl on Sony's superiority, but the guy's answer to every squestion was "well you'd know better than me. That being said, while I prefer XBox to PS3 for the game selection and general controller-comfort, etc, my favourite gadget is my walkman which easily slammed my iPod away.

However, if you are going to buy a TV, buy an LG(sorta advertising, but those LED look really good, I got one 35", not that "massive" but still is the one where I play and where I can enjoy Just Cause 2 properly).

I sell the TVs, not buy them. But nevermind, LG are a very good middle-weight brand, I have a 32" for my room, fits in just fine, next size up, (37"), is too big IMO.

Also conclusion to off-topic, I sincerely wish people with passion like this got the spotlight in my country. It's people like this woman who said "get screwed" to the Nazis and give me one of the few things that makes me proud of this country.

Anyways after the massive disappointment/political breakdown that was today, I'm gunna need a heavy shipment of pony to dissuade this mood.

Also I bloody love that Miss Spelling poster, I wish I could draw my OC ponies. It'd help tonnes with envisioning them. No offense to artists, but you can only draw what I describe, not the image in my head. Well, I can't either, so it's locked in and crying for now. Poor Sharps and Cassandra...and Velvet Storm..and Marshal, bugger, I have tonnes of these to draw!

Agreed, massive TVs are just too problematic, I used to own a 42" Sony bravia, and I almost couldn't sold it, still you probably have better judgement for TV selection, did I made the right choice?

And, agreed about the vid, I have some friends that lives in London, I call them a few moments ago, and they are in Birmingham now, they are fine, but is the same Birmingham on riot, so it seems the riots just follow them.

Depends really on your budget, what you're looking for in a TV, and how much room you have.

E.g., you want internet TV? Samsung. Their TVs this year have the best by far, with a sweet LED screen and beautiful design to match, (even the Sony rep I saw today acknowledged this). They're a brand that's pulled themselves from middle-weight to top-spot contender in the last year or two. Good 3D? Panasonic by far, a decent, large-screen Viera will do beautifully, and kick-ass in general viewing as well as HD.

As far as a fairly cheap TV for general gaming and viewing, LGs and Toshibas are good brands. Nice LCDs, moving onto LEDs nowadays. Fairly dependable, have all the basic features, and if you have the right equipment they can make a pretty nice picture. Of course I dunno about the market where you are, but that's the lay of the land over here.

Oh and Sony? Well, we never sell any, except to people who specifically want the brand. They're overpriced and every other brand does something better.

She's adorable as hell, but simply being extremely adorable isn't enough when you're surrounded by hundreds of other characters that are only slightly less adorable than yourself.

I like her, but she is far from my favorite.

And the only time I really didn't like her was when she flipped out at the end of Best Night Ever. It was funny, but it just didn't feel right to me. The time she used the stare on the Dragon and Cockatrice were awesome, but that only felt right to me because she was doing it to help her friends. But in The Best Night Ever she was doing it purely for selfish reasons, and Fluttershy being selfish just doesn't feel right.

EDIT: Come to think of it, that directly contradicts her element.

The only thing I like about Sony, other than their headphones and the PlayStation family is that their products never get old. Dad's 80s Walkman keeps rolling. PS1 kept rolling, but had to sell. PS2 keeps rolling. The only time I had to replace a pair of Sony earbuds was because I broke them. That's it. They won't do anything else than that or being ridiculously overpriced.

It seems that I took the right choice, however I had to sell the Sony TV due to a thing.

I've just realised that I only have one Sony product that I use on a regular basis. Sure, I have two PS2's (one doesn't work) and a PS1 as well, but apart from those I have no other Sony products. I'll also agree with CoffeeGrunt in saying that Samsung and LG are good TV brands, although I'm not sure how good modern Toshiba TV's are as my past experience with them hasn't been that great.


And Liverpool seems to have joined London and Birmingham as one of the places that are affected by the riots. I can only wish the best to those who are caught up in the violence. If ever there was a time to fire the Orbital Friendship Beam, now would be good.



So, back to ponies:

I wish Rarity could really use that Neuralizer on me after I come across anything disturbing on Ponibooru.

She's adorable as hell, but simply being extremely adorable isn't enough when you're surrounded by hundreds of other characters that are only slightly less adorable than yourself.

Its just that, in a show with characters as complex as the rest of the Mane 6 are, Fluttershy just comes off as incredibly flat to me. And the typical depth she is given (Dragonshy, for example) is really generic to anyone who has seen a Shonen anime made in the last 15 years.
She has her occasional moments where there are hidden depths (like in Sonic Rainboom), but she mostly just seems like she was engineered to be as Moe as possible (right down to being the Element of Kindness) without much consideration for anything else.

I actually find Applebloom to have the "adorable" thing down better anyways, so even Fluttershy's main purpose is lost on me.

EDIT: Come to think of it, that directly contradicts her element.
