That makes the PS3 transferal process much easier. Of course, I probably should have watched it after reading The Sun is Tired. Oh well.

Meanwhile I'm deliberating what I want to write. Might take a short break from Gods and Demons to write a few short stories for practice, before I come back to it. I wanna write something about Octavia...seems like a fun character to write. Also I wanna write a self-insert for the Writer's Group, mainly for giggles.

A bunch of bronies work for two weeks to make a massive, vectored version of the ComicCon poster. It gets posted to ED. The immediate response is a dozen comments flaming the guys who made it because the vectored poster doesn't show who was in the balloon.

So... what are you thinking about?

First of all, your character shapes and detail has been improving more and more ever since the Trixie image. That trend continues on into this one.


However, something I've noticed since Berserker Packing Mare-and-a-Half is that the way you've been coloring/shading your more recent artwork obscures a lot of the detail that you put into the lineart.

Compare this:

To this:

In the colored one, for example, the blue shapes appear to be just rocks, but in the lineart you can see that it is actually his armor and his front leg. Now, that one is still my favorite of all of your images, but I do think that it is kind of dark to the detriment of the image; and that because of that it isn't the best of your images even though it arguably should be.




Your most recent one that I think had the perfect blend of the original detail of the lineart and your associated coloring style is this one:

You can still make out all of the little bits and pieces of detail from the original sketch, but the shading and coloring style is still recognizably yours.

And I waited for this moment a looOong time!

I had to make Rainbow Dash pic dark... you know, the fight was in the dark and all. But I agree with you, I do overuse with darkness sometimes. I see night very dark and black. Some draw night dark blue. But my night is black.

I walk with my buddy at night, when we are at the summer house outside the city. Watching the milky way and catching fire flies. I don't see blue anywhere. It's pitch black without artificial lighting.

Also, they are standing behind the burning...err, big fire, so their shadows are black.

Does the Royal Guard's armor looks like rocks to you? I...I'll think about how to fix that.

At the last moment I wanted to bring the rocks from the shadows, but they were lost, so I drew some faint shapes...

Star Fighter's pic doesn't have any background. And I used a different coloring technique. I think it's my cleanest picture yet.

Thanks Toronado!👍 I'll experiment on Rainbow Dash Tylenol picture, maybe I'll find a way to make it less black.

Your pony drawings certainly have a very distinctive style unit-one, it's a style that I like if I'm honest. Your Rainbow Dash Tylenol drawing is still my favourite, plus I don't think the darker parts are detrimental to said drawing because it is supposed to portray a world of extreme darkness, and in all fairness, you did a good job with it.

Also, that drawing of Star Fighter wearing a suit is my second favourite, plus it's one of your best drawings overall.

Fair enough, but one thing to remember is that TNTNE does take place during nighttime eternal, but it is explicitly moonlit nighttime eternal.

I ultimately decided that I couldn't really contribute to the extent that I think was expected of me, so I pulled out after that chapter; but I still got a feeling for where he said he was going to take the story.

And I'm hesitant to comment on something that struck me in Chapter 10, because I know my thoughts mostly come from when I was involved (however minutely) when MaskofData was hashing out Chapter 8. So I think I'm gonna pass on this discussion now that I've thought about it for a while.
