Going back to the spotting ponies first topic, I first spotted the steering wheel, then the die cast and then the ponies.

Had nothing to do with it. That's still technically Twixie, so it is perfectly acceptable.
Half the fandom seems to think Pinkie sleeps with everything that moves anyways, so whatevs. Maybe it was just a case of *Something that I can't mention because of the AUP* rather than a case of *Something Else that I can't mention because of the AUP*.

Pffft, still not as pro as Trinkie Pie.

That merely proves that Trixie's creation was divine intervention. Which is something that I already knew anyways.

Seriously man, I know your pain, except I usually squad up with my IRL friends, so it's one squad carrying the team full of Recons that think they're snipers, Assaults playing Spamoman from behind a rock, Medics that sit next to the Recons to snipe from the fng base instead of doing field revives, and Engineers that don't do st about the 5 tanks and 10 helicopters bombarding our bases.

The problem is, I've never, not once, read a Trixie story that takes place after Boast Busters where Trixie isn't revealed to be Twilight's sister that didn't have UST (CoffeeGrunt's had it. That Grimdark-War fic Buttersc0tch wrote had it. Mine had it.)

I feel obligated, and slightly worried, to ask what "UST" is.

The post was about pre-reader and mods, and people started to talk about OC's... Some just can't love and tolerate.

I am against unicorn-pegasus OC's, and those weird hybrids myself, but I don't bash them. I just ignore them usually. Hell, I even drew one.

This is what happens when you write a story based around an OC Pony interacting with the Mane Six:

And why would an author willingly want to put up with that bull:censored: unless they are 100% sure they can pull it off well enough to ignore those responses?

Because not everyone can write a Past Sins. Not everyone can write a Dangerous Business. Not everyone can write a Two Beats (and Nick Nack in particular is important, and possibly not quite for the reason that you think I'm saying that, so I will bring him back up when I discuss the rest of your post tomorrow).



And for whatever odd, astoundingly hypocritical reason, this fandom loathes OCs in a way that even the Sonic Fanbase, which holds the prestige of having created the phrase "Original Character, Do Not Steal" to make fun of bad OCs, does not.

That's why I scrapped the original plot for Dreams and Nightmares,
but the last scenes of the new story still makes me nervous.

Also, I developed severe writer's unblock last night, an Allegrezza chapter, a chapter for Striga, my new fic, and even a little Sad Lyra fic for the WTG. In one night, like a Grunt...

I figure if you put your mind to it, and really put time and effort in, you probably could hit that sorta level, or at least, pretty close to it.

It's mainly the cloud/rainboom effect that seems complicated.

"Surprise Visit"

“Hi.” Star Fighter said as he came face to face with the red mare appearing in the doorway.

“Star Fighter!? What are you doing here?” She stammered out in surprise.

“Listen, I need your help.” Star Fighter explained.

“What's wrong? You know you’re not supposed to be here.” The mare replied, casting a nervous glance back towards her house.

“I know...” Star Fighter said, his voice trailing off.

After a small period of silence, the mare spoke back up. “So...what do you want?”

“You know that tent...the one we went camping with?” Star Fighter asked with some hesitation.

“A year ago.” The mare replied, a hint of shakiness in her voice from the memory. She paused momentarily before continuing. “Yeah, of course I remember it.”

“I apologize again for what happened...but...can you let me borrow that tent?” He finally asked, a somber look appearing in his eyes.

“Relax. Forget about the past...but, uh...are you going on a camping trip?” She asked him, concern evident in her voice. “At this time?”

“Well, yeah...something like that.” Star Fighter replied, trying hard to keep the uncertainty out of his voice.

“Stay here, and I'll get it. Just be quiet. My parents are home.” The mare turned and entered the house, shutting the door behind her and leaving Star Fighter alone to his thoughts once again. His mind began to wander to that fateful day a year prior.





"I clearly remember that day...
A year ago, we went camping in the mountains. Her parents were against the idea, so we lied and told them that we were going to the lake.

The tent was set up, the campfire lit. We found a nice place, with beautiful view on a side of the rocky mountain. Everything was just...perfect. I went to get some water from the stream below. "

Star Fighter paused, the memories making him short of breath. He took a deep breath before continuing to recollect.

"I was ready to fly back...but I saw this dust cloud coming down from the mountain's top. It was getting bigger and bigger. A rock slide...I don't know what caused it, but it happened so fast that nopony could react. When I made it back, the tent was still standing, but there was a tear in it...from a rock. I looked inside and saw her..."





Star Fighter shuddered as the events gripped him. After a moment, he shook his head to clear the memories from his mind.

“Oh Celestia...I don't want to remember that moment.”

Just then, the door to the house opened again; the mare appearing in the doorway carrying a tent bag all too familiar to Star Fighter.

“Here...take it...” She said quietly, placing it on the ground in front of him. The memories of that day had clearly had an effect on her during her search for the tent.

“Thank you.” Star Fighter replied, picking the tent up and putting it across his back. A long pause between the two followed, the only sound being the crickets chirping in the night.

“Promise me, Star Fighter.” The mare finally asked, a pleading look forming in her yellow eyes. “Promise me you won't go to the mountains.”

“I promise.” Star Fighter replied, a bit too quickly.

The mare caught on to the rehearsed nature of his response. “Star Fighter, please don't lie.”

All Star Fighter could do was nod in response.

“Thank you.” The mare responded, satisfied with his answer. “Now go before somepony sees you.”

“Thanks Ferry, for everything! Good bye!” Star Fighter cheerfully said, hoping to lighten the mood before he stepped out of his friend’s life again. It worked.

“I told you a hundred times, do not call me like that!” The mare replied, her face flushing red enough that it could be seen under her fur.

Star Fighter couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle at his friend’s response as he turned and trotted away.

Also, mfw my friend suggests a pretty cool Dash-joining-the-Wonderbolts fic that I end up loving until it turns into a hardcore clopfic about halfway through:

Really, it was all happy and everything, then they started getting drunk and it was funny, and then they went back to Spitfire's place....."SPITFIRE, SOAREN, DASH, WHY!?!?!?".
Damn my troll friends.

And the worst part, it was actually a really good story, too. But...that....that just ruined it, and I don't think I have time for a good, short, clean one before work.

Wait, just remembered the Secret Tub of Fun. I know the first one was really short and funny, so if the second ones the same I should be able to knock it out in about 20 minutes, so I'll just read the second one now.
