The ideas of the corrupted friends got me thinking about that idea I've had in my head but have been too busy to put it down on paper...

Fluttershy is pushing the animals past their limits to work
Pinkie Pie (oh, sorry, Diane Pie,) is no longer a happy party girl, but a harried, boring baker...
Rarity is...basically as she's portrayed as Grayity, a scrooge - to a fault.
Dash is looking out only for #1

However, these are all out of the situation - a certain alter-ego of one of the princesses is ruling.

Applejack is trying to make up for high taxes to avoid punishment, by raising the price of her crop to astronomical levels and using high-pressure sales tactics
Fluttershy fears retribution for a Royal Project she's working on, thus is pushing the animals as hard as she can to make it get done as Quickly as possible
Diane is overworking herself to make ends meet - high taxation
Rarity is actually selling Gems behind the government's back to avoid Taxation - cheating the system, using her dressmaking as a front
Dash, feeling things are hopeless and not wanting to be one of the Royal Guard's lackies, decides she can only be afford to be her own protector - she fears failure if she allows herself to have friends.

and finally, Twilight meets herself...

...A knight-errant who is the ruler's iron fist in Ponyville, someone who has never known the magic of friendship, someone who has studied her way to become the most powerful combat mage in all of Equestria, and is all too happy to dole out punishment...by her sword.

All of this is fanfiction of course, but I think it's an interesting twist on corruption of the ponies...

Anyway... I'm back and I've seen the episode. A bit late to the party I know, but it's fashionable to be late right?

In my opinion the episode had a very different style than the previous series. I can't put my finger on what it was but it was different. Maybe it's the animation, it's slightly different.
The storytelling is also different, it's darker... I think.
I don't think the CMC's helped the cause with their fighting at the start. They just seamed out of place fighting as they never fought (physically) in the first series. (This could easily be a plot point for the next episode as discussed before. Maybe it'll get them their cutie marks. The toy versions have them.)
And Celestia, she was different than before. Stronger, but still not helpful and troll-like.
I guess that's what happens after the show no-longer is educational and informative.

Okay, I suppose I should be a tad more clear: It is kinda-sorta something that could be (and in my opinion, is) interpreted as shipping, but it is not obvious about it. So it's not the one where AJ is drunk, and it's not the one where they are kissing.




And I would say unit-one is the closest, and I was actually going to do that one until I noticed that it would probably be too dark.

And another thing, you said, that your PS3 broke, but I never saw you offline.

The hard drive corrupted itself, so it broke in the sense of I lost everything (including GT:HD and the GT5 demo) but not in the sense that it doesn't still work. It's just taking a long time to get everything ready to transfer over to the system, so I B-Spec GT5 while I'm doing it.
