It is important to note that while the English language doesn't have a straight demonym for US citizens, a lot of other languages do. In Spanish it's "Estadounidence", which roughly translates to "United Statesian". That's because in Spanish we are taught that 'America' is the name of North, Central and South America combined. The states are the United States of America, as in, they are united states found in America (the Americas, as they call them in English), which comprises a lot of land. So a Puerto Rican is American by sheer geography.

And I know that you're asking if I'm from the States when you say 'American', I just wanted an excuse to be pedantic, which I seldom get to be

We like to think we're the smart ones. We get the good weather, none of that rioting crap, cars that actually have proper sized engines, freaky animals and a lot less French people than the UK.

But... but cars with 1000cc engines are all we really need here. Anything over 2000cc is considered far too big. Then again, we do have a few car companies which build V12 monsters (just ignore the fact that those companies are under foreign ownership).

Dude you always need a larger more powerful engine. It's a fact of life. Granted I am interested in having a Cappuccino but that has more to do with the fact it's a rare car.
I've got a 2 litre Hyundai (100kw ~ 135hp) and I think it needs more power. I guess I just like the idea of having power.


On the fuel tax... I hate it. We have a fuel tax (on the raw product) and then we get GST. I think the fuel tax is 30-40 cents and GST is 10% of the sale price.
The cheapest petrol I've seen recently is $1.38/litre... I think, it was probably more expensive. 👎

About diesel... I can remember a time when it was cheaper than petrol, a time when petrol was 80-90 cents. The late 90's early 2000's. Diesel was originally a by-product so was cheaper than petrol. It should still be cheaper. But you probably know that already.

Yes, I would rather have a car with a V16 quad-turbo engine than something that can barely make it up a 5% incline, but I don't want to start a rant about how ridiculous car insurance prices are in the UK, so I just leave it at that.
