So, Empty Skies looks like an interesting read, well judging by the description at least. I'll add it to my list of fics that I plan on reading, but I probably won't start it until I've finished Chwe Goleadau.

Only it looks like it may start taking itself too seriously, so I'm cautious.

The comments weren't kidding, it resembles more the spaceships from Close Encounters of the Third Kind to me, but blowing up landmarks isn't very subtle if I'm honest, and lacks the cool ringtone communications. Maybe the script will not be as bad as it was on the movie (not Will Smith obviously, but Bill Pullman's which was dreadful).

I really like this one, the use of those effects is almost impeccable.

I think that was more because Bill Pullman could be outacted by a piece of particle board rather than problems with the script. Everyone else seemed to sell it, even the silly parts, like they were having a good time with it.

And I remembered Wiegert asked yesterday: Including the three times Photoshop crashed and took about 30-45 minutes of work each time, it took 12 hours. More-or-less Noon to Midnight. The lineart took a lot less time to work on, because I wanted to try keeping most of the internal shading to see how it came out while still cleaning up everything on the exterior. The hair didn't take anywhere near as much time as I thought it would to do.


I think I might have shaded Dash's bust too strongly, though.

I don't know how long it would have taken me to do that, even if PS didn't crash on me. Seeing as I'm a perfectionist, I probably would have spent tons of time trying to get it to look perfect. JJ didn't draw any lines to mark the boundary of each colour in RD's hair, so you had to guess where each colour segment went, and honestly, it's looks pretty good. Also, why did you decide to give RD a green top? I would have assumed that cyan was a more suitable colour for it. There's nothing wrong with it being green, I'm just wondering why it's that colour.


And the shading on that part of Dash is a little bit heavy, yeah, but I really don't think it needs altering.

I wanted to do cyan, but when JJ drew the original, he gave Dash a black top.

Even though I drastically lightened it so that it was just barely gray (which is why I had to redo the shading by hand), I couldn't get light colors to come out right; and a darker blue ultimately made it too dark. That green is actually the same color that I used in her hair, and you can see how much darker it is on her top because of the shading that is still there. My other option was orange, which came out nice and bright but just didn't look right.


Then I added Santa hats.





Ultimately, I think it came out better than the AJ one did, and when JJ does one that strikes me similarly in the future I think I will do the lineart that way rather than how I did it with the AJ one (where I basically scrubbed all the shading for it instead of leaving it in).

And the shading on that part of Dash is a little bit heavy, yeah, but I really don't think it needs altering.

I might have also extended the side boob a teensy tiny bit.

Eh, yeah, you have actually.



You've extended the shadow under RD's bust a little too close to her arm as well, which makes it look slightly deformed. Not really a major problem though.

I'm actually quite doubtful about which one to colour, the idea came up a long time ago after the Boobershy sketch(which was beautify colour), but more interesting stuff has been posted and now I'm doubtful about which one. Don't worry though, I know more than one way to accomplish my mission without getting banned.


Regarding the inferior shipping GilDash image I must say that is a pretty decent job, in fact far superior than the previous one. One of the things interesting about it is that the sketchy lines were followed giving it a more fresh looks, the shadowing seems accurate and well placed, all around a pretty god job.

However if I were nick-picking I'll say that there are a couple of things that doesn't seem quite right, for one there is some of the RD lines which seem inaccurate (left boob line and some of the facial lines). But my biggest problem with it (which can be consider as personal problem) are the colours used for RD, the colour set for Gilda works because it follows some of the colours used for her character in canon (it must be said that the outlining for the image as a whole also helps), while RD uses some undetermined colours that does seem to fit well with her canon characteristics, likewise the colours for her mane doesn't seem accurate either (this could be attributed to the brown-ish set used) and her mane can use more vivid colours.

Having said that I really like the colouring and general outlining for Gilda, she is almost perfectly coloured and really gives the impression that is based on canon, RD is mostly correctly outlined and is still believable, all in all is a cool image, and it really shows a step up from your last lineart.

Better but there is still a problem, RDs shirt which seems to have the wrong colour, I know that the problem relays on RD herself at not having a secondary colour that can be used(Gilda is composed of Brown, Gold and some light purple which makes the selection for her colour clothing easier, while RD has the multicolour mane and multicolour Cuttiemark which doesnt leave any definition for a secondary colour), keep in mind that this is more like a personal view but I suggest to use white as the colour of her panties and RGB: 173, 223, 255 for the colour of her shirt, in that sense RD colours make more sense as it mantains her canon predominant colour while she uses a neutral second one(it should be noted again that this is a personal perception of the image).

I can't make her shirt any lighter. I would have to completely redraw all of the definition inside of it to get the shading back, and I don't think I possess the competence to do it right.


I actually based the color of her top based on the color of the outline that she is drawn with in the show, working under the presumption that it would work as a secondary color:

Then tried to tweak it to get it as close as possible when the shading of her top was taken into effect.

All we have in Cloudsdale is Ma Deuces, but they work just fine
