- Rarity....not sure about her because the "Cutie Mark Chronicles" doesn't explain much of her childhood other than her being obsessed with fashion. She's still just as obsessed and just as eager to impress others as she was as a filly.

Rarity's... interesting.

I'm not sure if I will be able to put it into words, but there are times that it seems to me that Rarity is nursing a deep inferiority complex. Like she feels if she doesn't go above and beyond what people expect of her, people wouldn't want to be around her. In that respect, the stuff that happened in Cutie Mark Chronicles probably didn't help (She is told her dresses are nice. She doesn't take that as a compliment, and goes crazy trying to make them fantastic. She gets her cutie mark after she goes crazy trying to make them fantastic, basically subconsciously telling her that Crazy-Go-Nuts-Level OCD is her special talent).

Story just popped up on ED that's got my attention. The description makes it sound like a deconstruction of the Trollestia image that the fanbase has cultivated, and the page or so that I've read seems to confirm that.


I figured one was going to pop up sooner or later, so it is a good thing that this one seems so well-written.


Edit: What is written so far is really, really good, if my gushing in the comment box didn't make that obvious. It stumbles a bit at the end of the second chapter (which I hadn't caught because when I read it the first time because the chapter ended much earlier for some reason), but I feel the author probably can recover from and explain that bit with Applejack.

And the previous discussion(about pinkie pie)got me thinking and searching for fanfic that shows that specific side of pinkie pie(the lonely one),thus far I haven't found anything like it,just "cupcake" stories.

I tried to read one of the fanfics the other day and it wouldn't work. (I don't remember what it was.)
But I download a PDF of the story, so if it does disappear I can still read it (or I can read it later and at my own pace rather than be on the internet).

Ho-boy...

Basically, practice writing fiction as much as possible, find some friends who you can bounce ideas off of, and the like. Try not to cover ground already covered by other Bronies. Blaze your own trail, if you can. But don't expect to write a masterpiece right off. Some of the things I've written are...shudder-worthy. and not in a good way.

No. I'm waiting to see what the author does with the final chapter before I commit, because Rarity - Loss (the most recent chapter) ended on such an absurd cliffhanger that the end result may end up being that the entire series is wasted if the author doesn't resolve it properly.

They still all work well as individual stories (well, except for Rarity - Loss, which was more about combining the previous chapters and setting up Twilight's chapter than it was about Rarity), but the quality of the series itself is still in doubt.

I download the first 8 chapters by coping the content from Deviantart,I maybe they change the server or it wasn't Devianart,I'm on chapter 4 BTW,is quite amusing and it has some clever jokes as well(Friendship lubricant).

I was walking through the store I work at when I saw a guy with a "%20 Cooler" T-shirt, as I walked by I said "Sup, Brony" he responded by raising his fist and saying "Bro-hoof", we pounded our fists together and just kept walking in opposite directions as if everything was normal.
That was just funny as hell to me, and just makes me even happier to be a part of this community. Knowing other Bronies are that relaxed around each other IRL is just awesome.

Also, I'll probably give "The Ballad of Twilight Sparkle" a try later, since TNTNE won't be updated until about 2 days from now.

I've thought of playing around with the idea of Celestia being pink as a "lesser form," similar to Luna - Note that as Nightmare Moon, Luna was pure black rather than her normal dark blue. Perhaps Celestia also has a lower-powered form.

Took me 🤬 forever, but I feel like I did pretty good with the shading. It may be a little off when you consider the position of the light source, and underneath RD is a little dark, but I couldn't undo that without re-doing all of my other edits, since that's what I started with. I feel proud of it.

I assumed that the picture was referring to the modeled version of Celestia until I noticed what the small writing said at the bottom. Anyway, I'll read part 4 of The Ballad of Twilight Sparkle now before I turn in for the night, I actually thought the last 3 parts were quite funny.
