It's been a while since I've seen a new Ultimate Make thread so here's another.

My favourite

and in a close second

Got to be either the SLR (not any variations - the plain silver one with the high spoked propeller wheels, not the 5 spokes)

Or the new SL65 Black. Have you heard this thing at the F1 races? You can hear it over the cars and boy does it sound marvellous. Plus, it's looking to be as good if not better than the CLK black in terms of it being a driver's car

... or the CLK GTR road version

And in a possible tie for 1st for me the C63 AMG

Isn't it one of the only Mercs today that you can fully disable driver's aids? But seriously, I just looove V8 sedans.

May I present, the 1988 Mercedes 300E AMG "Hammer" 6.0

Mercedes 5.6L V8 bored out to 6L, with 375hp. Price at the time? A cool 161 grand.

0-100km/h = 4.7 s
Top Speed = 250km/h (limited) or ~ 310km/h (unlimited)

But there are some very good cars in here. I think it's a touch call between the SL65 Black, the C63, the EVO, the SL73 and the Gullwing. They are all so cool...

But if I was going to get a Merc, I do think it'd be the C63 or the current E63.

190E is very nice, I've always liked the current C-Klasse DTM aswell as the CLK-GTR/LM (not the slanty nosed CLR though)

My fave road car has to be the barely road-legal CLK GTR or simply:

'The Hammer'- The car that started the horspower war in Germany.

The SL73 AMG was a rare limited edition.

Later the same engine (7.3 L V12) was used by Pagani in the Zonda.

Classic from my youth, I always admired its design. For many, the perfect car at the time.

I also like the 190 a lot, but for some reason it never did anything for me, lookwise. But it's an incredible auto.

The SLR and the Black Edition I think aren't up to par in many aspects. Trying too hard, I guess.

Good luck flying off of the road then! The '98 CLK-GTR racing car would be a much better choice over this, the C9 even better. The CLR may look cool, but it never functioned like it should, and besides...why so awesome if it gets pwned by an even more awesome looking japanese TS020 racing car?


Aaaanyway, after seeing Beerz' DTM thread, I just have to go with the 190 DTM car, I love it so much!

Haha I know that the aero package was terrible, but I still think that is a great way to die... flipping a million-dollar supercar/racer... fun.

The SL65 Black is twin-turbo V12, the car you hear at the F1 is an SL63 V8.
