This is something I'm curious to know more about, because I've always heard whispers of hidden assists. But no really solid info.Thomas from Fanatec recommends normal steering as simulated has hidden assists for controller users.
Didn't T10 patch that issue?
No, the patch was for a problem on mapping Fanatec wheels, it's not exactly a problem just a misleading term.
Glad to hear.....Ive never had a wheel before I bought mine a couple months ago and I love it....
Not to wish anything bad on you but I NEVER got my H-shifer to work right. It never calibrated correctly. Fanatec sent me a new one with a new cable but still couldn't get it to work. So something must be wrong with the wheel. But my seqential shifter and paddle shifters work great so I decided not to send it back just for that...
Check out the Fanatec wheel setting thread here, very helpful on getting started for the first time. Im so sucked into the game since I bought the wheel I have been looking at chair/sim rigs to buy. I did purchase the Rennsport wheel stand and it works great but I will probably be selling it in a few months once I figure how to make a rig that I can fit in my closte
My problem with the h-shifter is keeping the damn thing on the rods.![]()
The piece on the far right in the picture is the shifter adapter set which you can purchase on the Fanatec webshop.
Until you get the shifter adapter set, there is a way to make the shifter a lot more stable using the chopsticks. *You need some short screws with nuts that will fit between the chopsticks. Just put the screws in and tighten them up to apply extra tension on the chopsticks. I did this on mine and it worked great, the shifter was solid as a rock. Here are pictures:

I think we already had this conversation but when I calibrate my shifter I never plug anything from the wheel to either ps3 or PC. Have you tried the calibration by just putting the wheel in ps3/pc mode but not connecting the USB? Just a double check.^^^^I have tried calibrating in PC and PS3 mode. I have pluged up wheel to my laptop to calibrate and the gears are ALL over the place.....very strange....
